Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Kuat Envy Platform Style 4 Bike Rack which is designed to work with two inch hitches. The part number for that is N105-107. As you can see we do already have our bike on our rack. We're going to show you some features of the rack and then also how we secure our bike down. First feature I want to show you is the tilt-away feature because you can tilt away with the bike still on your platform. We're just going to life up on this silver lever here and slowly drop our bike rack down. As you can see we do still have enough clearance here on the ground so you don't have to worry about your bike rack scraping on the ground. We also have enough clearance here so we'll be able to open our back hatch. Now if you have larger pedals or longer handlebars up there on your bike, you might want to careful and just be aware of your hatch opening. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack. This is a hanging style bike rack designed to work with inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. The part number for that is S63380. Now as you can see we do already have our bike on the rack. We're going to show you how we strap the bike down and then also some features of the rack itself. As you can see we do have two cradles here holding the bike down. We've got three straps on the top for the frame there. We've got one in the back here that's going to be your anti-sway strap. That's going to prevent your bike from swinging back and forth too much and possible hitting your vehicle. Now to release those you're just going to pull-down and lift up. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia we're test fitting the Yakima FullTilt 4 bike rack. This bike rack is adaptable for both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. And the part number for that is Y02462. Now as you can see, we do already have our bike on the rack. We're going to show you some features of the rack and also how we secure our bike down. Now if you'll look right here you can see we do have two cradles holding our bike down to the rack. And then we have three straps: two on the frame here and one is your anti-sway strap in the back there. That's going to prevent your bike from swaying back and forth and possibly hitting your vehicle. Now to release your bike you're just going to push down on the levers on either side of the strap and lift the strap straight out. We'll set our straps off to the side, and pull our bike straight off. Now so you don't lose any straps, or they don't get any dirt or debris in the grooves of them you can always replaces them, and I highly suggest you put them back after you take your bike off. All right the next thing we're going to do is show you some, take some measurements. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Acadia- Video
Today, in our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitted the Saris Freedom SuperClamp 2 platform style bike rack. This bike rack is designed to work with inch and a quarter and 2 inch hitches, and the part number for that is SA4025. As you can see, we do already have our bike on our rack. We're going to show you some features of the bike rack itself, and then also how we secure our bike to the rack. If we take a look at our bike first, we're going to see that back here we do have a wheel hook there. We also have a strap holding in the wheel on the bottom cradle there. Then if we take a look at the front, we're going to have that same kind of hook on the wheel, and it's going to sit either in front of your brakes or in front of your frame, depending on the type of bike that you have. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Pro Series Q Slot platform style 2 bike rack. It also has an adapter for a 4 bike rack. We have the 4 bike rack set up here. Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Swagman XTC4. This is a platform style four bike rack. The part number for that is S64665. Now as you can see we do already have our bike on our rack. We're going to show you some features of the rack itself, and then also how we strap down and secure our bike. If we look at our bike first, you can see that the front and the back wheels are both secured down by those straps. You want to make sure you have the straps in between the spokes like we do here, whether it's in the middle, or just far enough away. Then we also have this frame hook here at the top. more

The first thing we'll go over are our straps here. In the front and the back on the wheel we do have straps holding it down, and then we've got this cushion here which is nice for smaller tires or you can flip it around if you have bigger tires. Now, first thing we're going to do is we'll talk about some features of the rack itself and also how we strap the bike down. As you can see here, we do have two cradles holding the bike in then we've got three straps, two on our frame here and the one as our anti-sway strap there that's going to keep the bike from swinging back and forth and possibly hitting your vehicle. Now, to release those, you're just going to pull down on the strap and lift right up. You always want to do your anti-sway strap last or put it on first depending on whether on you're taking it off or putting it on. That's going to keep your bike secure to the rack while you're strapping down or taking off the other straps. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2011 GMC Acadia we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Swing. This would be your hanging style four bike rack with the swing away option. Note that we already have our bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This would be part number TH9031XT. It's going to come with a 2 inch shank for your 2 inch receivers only, as well as a 3/4 inch anti-rattle bolt down here below to keep it sturdy and secure when you're driving down the road. Let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement, from the T-handle here on the front side to the back side of the bumper, about 4 1/4 inches. Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle, from the back of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms, there's about 34 1/4 inches. more

As you can see, we've already got a bike up on it so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike rack is going to come with an inch-and-a-quarter shank, as well as a two-inch adapter, so it will fit your Class 1, 2 and 3 receivers. Just keep in mind that if you're going to be using this with your Class 1 receivers that you're only going to be able to carry up to two bikes, and that is per your receiver's hitch and weight specifications. Now before we load our bike into our receiver, I would like to point out real quick that if we need to put our bike rack away for safe-keeping, we can load it into our rear hatch. That's with all of our passenger seats still up and not folded down. We can have a max capacity in our vehicle of passengers. This could be another way to store it to keep it safe-keeping. With that being shown, we'll go ahead and remove our bike rack, close up our rear hatch. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2015 GMC Acadia, we will be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tilting 4 Bike Rack, that's part number HR8500. This can be used for 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. We can go ahead and begin by inserting our shank into our receiver, we'll go ahead and line our pin holes up. All right once we get those lined up, we'll go ahead and take our anti rattle bolt, go ahead and start threading that through, get that hand tightened, we'll go ahead and take our socket wrench and finish that the rest of the way down and by tightening this, it's going to help reduce the play and the rattle within our hitch and our bike rack make for a nice tight fit as you could see there. We put our clip on and we can take a few measurements. Starting with our nearest point it's going to be right here to our bumper it looks to be right about an inch away from here to here. Overall we've added about 8 1/2 inches to our vehicle and for our ground clearance we are looking at about 16 1/2 inches right here. more

To begin our test fit we need to slide the shank right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to slide it in far enough so that we line up our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole. more

Softride Element Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2009 GMC Acadia- Video
Today in our 2009 GMC Acadia, were going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram. This is a folding and tilting 4 bike rack. Its been designed for use in two-inch hitches. The part number is sr26248. Now to begin our test fit, were going to slide the shank of the rack right under the receiver tube of our hitch. As you can see, well have to two threaded holes to choose from. more

Yakima DoubleDown Ace Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2012 GMC Acadia we'll be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace 4-Bike Carrier, part number Y02451. To begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, insert our pin with the red knob, and secure the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device, securing the Doubledown Ace to our GMC Acadia. We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 16 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper, at about 4 inches. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 10 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more
