Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Chevrolet Malibu- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevy Malibu, we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack. That's part number SH12B. I've already got it loaded up on the Malibu just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it holds our bikes. I'd like to go into one of the best features about this bike rack, is it has the ability to tilt away with bikes loaded so we can gain access to our rear hatch. We'll come down here to this lever, go ahead and pull it towards you, fold it down, and then as promised, we can get access to our rear hatch to remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. We've got plenty of room. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Today, on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse we're going to be test fitting the Kat NV 2.0, 2 bike rack, part number NV22G. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most important feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away with the bike still attached. To do that we'll grab hold of the bike, pull this level on the passenger side out, let it tilt down. At this point, we can go ahead and lift our rear hatch and, as you can see, we're able to get to the hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on either side. Now, we measured our handlebars and from the center to this point here is going to be about 9 inches so, you can see, we have plenty of space between this and the hatch so I don't think you'll have any problems with clearance with other handlebars. Now, to lift it back into its original position just grab it by the bike rack, push up, and there you go. Also, at the end here we have a station that you can use to make repairs to your bike while your on the trail if you need to. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Holdup 2 bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number Y2443. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show of some of the features. Now the most prominent feature of this rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, while holding on to the bike rack, we'll pull out on this red handle here and let it tilt forward. Now we have access to our rear hatch. However, as you can see here, it would actually make contact with our bike, so we can't have it fully open, but we have it partially open to get some of the items that we may need. more

We're first going to show you one of the main features of this rack. If we come here to the back of it we're going to lift up slightly, and then we'll pull out the red pin at the opposite end and be able to tilt our bike rack, fully loaded, away from our vehicle. With that tilted we're going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. Now, you may have noticed it does come pretty close to our handlebars. more

Swagman Trailhead Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Malibu- Video
Today, on our 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, we're going to be test fitting this Swagman Trail Head 2-Bike Hang Style Rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S63360. Now, on this bike rack, it's secured down in three locations. We've got straps right here, then we've got two more straps over here. We've got one on top here and then one down here on the down tube that serves as our anti-sway strap to help prevent the bike swinging too far the other way and making contact with the other bike or the vehicle. Now, in order to remove the bike, just pull on these straps and you can remove it and set it off to the side. With the bike out of the way, let's take a measurement to see what the total distance added to the vehicle is. It looks like the total distance added to the vehicle is about 23 inches and, on this bike rack, it has a feature where you can fold these arms down. In order to do so, you simply pull the pin and clip out, lift right up here, and then you can rotate it down and replace it in the other hole that's on the bracket. Now, with the arms folded down, let's take that measurement again to see what the total distance added is. more

We have this large wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle, and then we have a rear wheel strap going over our rear wheel and going into the ratcheting mechanism there. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, we'll be doing a test fit on the RockyMounts split rail platform style two bike rack. That's part number RKY1140. I've already got it loaded up on the Traverse, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it secures our two bikes. It actually secures our bikes in two spots, we have this large wheel hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle here. For the rear, we have a strap that goes over our wheel, keeping that from popping out of place. All in all, there is no frame contact with this bike rack, that's a really nice feature. One of the other great features, though, is that it has the ability to tilt away from the vehicle, so we can gain access to our rear hatch. We can actually tilt it away with the bikes loaded, there's a handle underneath here, just pull it towards you, and then we can tilt it out. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman XC 2-Bike Platform Style Rack, part number S64650. On this bike rack the way that it's held in place is it's got 2 wheel cradles down at the bottom, and then up here on top it's got a hook that comes over the frame and keeps it tight down into those cradles. What we're going to do now is go ahead and take this bike off here. In order to do that, we just need to move these hooks up on the mast and in order to do that you just want to push in on the little gray tabs on the side. Push it up and once you've done that you can lift your bike up and out of the way. I'm going to go ahead and move these back down a little bit. Now in order to gain access to your cargo area when the bikes are off what you can do is you can pull this pin down here at the bottom and you can tilt your mast to either side for storage. Then you can replace that pin to keep it tight. more

Swagman XTC4 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Traverse- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman XTC4 4-bike Platform Style Rack, part number S64665. On this bike rack, the bike is secured down in 3 locations. It's got 1 hook over the frame up top here that keeps it tight into these wheel cradles, and then down on the wheel cradles, it's got a strap that'll go around each wheel. We're going to go ahead and take this bike off. Going to do that. We'll start by taking the straps and releasing those, and then we want to squeeze the tabs on the hook in order to move them up so that we can take our bike out. Then, once we've set our bike off to the side, we can take a couple of measurements to see what kind of distances we have. The first measurement is we're going to see how much total distance we're adding to the vehicle, so looks like about 38-1/4 inches. more

Today on this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be test fitting Swagman Quad 2 + 2 2-Bike and 4-Bike Rack, part number S64692. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now how the bike is fastened to the rack we're going to have 1 point of contact with our bike's frame up here with this frame hook, which is nice and padded to make sure that it doesn't scratch or damage the bike when you install it. We also have wheel straps on the 2 wheels to hold those in place as well. Let's go ahead and take the bike off, set it aside. Go ahead and loosen up the straps by pushing in the buttons. Now with the wheel hook you want to make sure you hold on to the bike while you take it off, just so the bike doesn't go falling forwards towards the vehicle. more

Now, we already have our bike secured down. First, going to show you one of the features that really great about this bike rack. You can actually tilt this rack away from our vehicle with our bike still attached, which is very rare for our hanging style bike racks. The first thing we're going to do is come around to the opposite side. We're going to pull our black T-pin that we have here. Now you need to push that bike rack up against your vehicle to be able to loosen that T-pin, but once you do, that will drop down. more

Swagman XTC4 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're doing a test fit of the Swagman XTC4 Platform Style Bike Rack, that part number is S64665. Now we already have our bike in place. We're first going to show you how to secure down, then we'll take a few measurements, and show you a few features. So the first measurement I want to go over real fast is our handlebar measurement. Come around here. So we're going to measure from the center of our bike, which will be the center of our wheel cradle, to the closest point. So that measurement's going to be about 21.5 inches. So that just gives you an idea of what kind of handle bars can fit on our bike rack without making contact with our vehicle. As for how our bike is secured down, at the front and the back tire we have our straps that are just going to hold our tires in place on our wheel cradles. more

Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're doing a test fit of the Pro Series Q-Slot Platform Style 2 and 4 Bike Rack, that part number is PS63138. We already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. On our front and back tire we have hook-and-loop straps, so they're going to hold our wheels in place. Then here in the center we have our frame hook, which is what actually holds our bike down into our cradles. We're going to start by rotating this all the way around, and lifting up on our hook. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're doing a test fit of the INNO Tire Hold Platform Style 3 Bike Rack. That part number is INH305-306. Now we already have our bike secured down. First, we're going to show you how we do that. Before we go over that, we're going to show you one of the unique features of our bike rack. If we pull down on this lever here, we're actually going to be able to tilt our rack away from our vehicle while our bike is still attached and gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. more

Today on out 2007 Suburban, we are doing a test fit of the Swagman G-10 platform style two bike rack. That part number is S64682. We already have our bike secured down. First we're going to go over some features. We actually have the option to tilt this rack away from our vehicle while the bike is attached. We're going to life up on our handle here. Tilt that away and we can open up our hatch. As you can see we are going to gain full access to our hatch area. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
In this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we are going to be test fitting the Tulli T2 Pro 2 Bike Rack, part #TH9034. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, the first is going to be the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still installed on it. To do that, you go up to the front here and there is a little grey handle inside of this. Pull towards you, pulling onto the bike rack. Let it come down. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox th9029xt- Video
Today, on this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-Bike Rack, Part Number TH9029XT. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. We'll just ago ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack We're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top, here. One strap off to the side here, which is going to serve as an anti sway strap, to keep the bike from going back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack, or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off, and set it aside. It should also be noted that this does come with an integrated cable lock, you bring over the bikes, and then would lock up at the front arm here. more
