Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Nissan Frontier TS02B- Video

Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Nissan Frontier we're going to be test fitting the Kuat transfer two by platform rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number TS02G. We already have our bike installed on the rack let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.The more prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. And unlike other bike racks it's very easy to operate, you just come up to this pedal at the front, just push it down with your foot and holding onto the bike rack, you let it come forward. Unfortunately, we're not going to have full access to our tailgate as it will make contact with the bike. But you can open it up to get some of the stuff you may need. To put it back in it's original position just life up on the bike rack till you hear that click.How the bike is held into place will have two points of contact. more

That's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle.With our bike rack in that position, we are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. What's great about this is that we don't have to worry about removing our bike rack or our bikes just to gain that access. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Nissan Altima- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Nissan Altima, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Vertex Four Bike Rack, part number 2H9029XT.Our bike is going to attach at three different points. We're going to have two on our crossbar here, and then we're going to have one strap going around our vertical support right here that's going to act as our vertical sway.The way we're going to take them off is we just pull the straps and unhook them, going around to each section and once we have all three unhooked, we can pull our bike right off. I'm going to set is aside for now.Not only is the cradle going to provide a nice spot for our bike to sit, but as you notice there's going to be several grooves in there and that's going to be for our cables running to our brakes, making it that much easier and nicer for our bike to sit in.The vertical support here is going to act as an anti sway and prevent bike to bike contact.One thing I really like about this bike rack is the integrated cable lock. You can simply pull the cable out, wrap it through our bikes and it'll secure right here.Now this is a four bike rack so we are going to be adding quite a bit of real estate to the back of our car. So I'd like to give you a few measurements. From the edge of the bumper to the outermost edge of the arm is going to come in just under 36 inches. more

Today in our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider two-bike rack. As you can see, we already have our bike securely attached to the rack. You're going to have three mounting points, one hook going across the frame, and two wheel straps. To remove the bike, simply pull the straps off, slide the hooks out of the way, and then we can remove our bike. With our bike out of the way, let's take some quick measurements. Overall, you're going to be adding roughly about 24 1/4 inches to the total length of your vehicle. Now, the closest points to the vehicle is going to be right about four inches. more

Today on our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima HoldUp 2-bike rack. As you can see, we already have our bike securely mounted. One of the really nice features of this bike rack is if you have your bike on there but you need to get access to the back hatch, simply pull on this red knob and the rack will tilt away, giving you access to get anything you may need in or out of the back hatch. To put the bike back into position, simply grasp the bike rack, lift it up, and it will lock into place. Now there's two mounting points. You have a hook up here and a wheel strap back here, so there's no frame contact, so you don't have to worry about any scratching or any abrasion on your bike. Now to remove the strap, simply lift up and pull the strap out. more

Now one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that if you ever need to get into the back, but you don't feel like taking your bike off, simply remove the pin, pull back on the lever, and the bike rack will tilt down. You can see we'll get access to get anything in or out of your hatch that you may need. To lock it back in position, simply lift up on the bike rack, it will lock back in place, and replace the pin. Now there's two mounting points on here. You have a hook up front and a strap on the back wheel, so there's no frame contact so you don't have to worry about scratching your bike. To remove the bike, simply push in on the tab, pull the strap out. more

Today on our 2016 Nissan Quest, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Dispatch 2-Bike Rack, part number S64684. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact. We're going to have a padded frame hook up at the top here, and it's padded to ensure that your bike will not get scratched up when it gets installed. We also have wheel straps above the front and rear tires, and the wheel cradles themselves are also adjustable. This is to accommodate different size bikes and to assist with loading. To adjust them, you just loosen up the knob here and adjust accordingly and then tighten it down by turning it to the right. It also has a nice raised shank to it, and that's when your hitch sits particularly low, you're not going to have a ground clearance issues between the bike rack itself and the ground. more

Today on our 2016 Nissan Quest we're going to be test fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features of it. The first and most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that this can actually swing away from the vehicle to gain rear-hatch access while leaving the bikes on, which is pretty unique for a hanging style bike rack. To do that we'll come to the back here and loosen up this knob like so, take it out all the way. Then I'll come around to the other side here, and then there's this tab right here on the other side of the mast, lift up, you can actually start pulling it away at that point. Once you get it to about here we'll swing it around until you hear it click, and that's that tab locking into the side. Then we can push it the rest of the way. more

Today on our 2016 Nissan Quest we're going to be test fitting the Pro Series Q-slot platform-style 2 and 4 bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number PS63138. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact. We're going to have this padded frame hook up at the top to hold the bike in place and it's nice an padded so the bike itself won't get scratched up once it's being installed. You also have 2 hook and loop straps around the wheels to keep those in place as well. The wheel cradles themselves are adjustable by undoing the knobs on the side and are adjustable along the arms of the bike rack to accommodate different size bikes and to assist with loading. The bike rack itself, right now we have have it in the 4 bike configuration, but you can remove this end portion here and actually just make it a 2 bike version, should you want that. more

To put it back in its original position, just lift up on the bike rack, never the bike, you see hear that click, and it's locked back into place. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today in our 2013 Nissan Murano, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC 2 bike rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact and that's going to be a frame hook up here. It is padded, so your bike will not get scratched up once it's installed. We also have these adjustable wheel cradles here you turn to the left to loosen them up, and then move along the arms freely to accommodate different size bikes and to assist with loading. We also have this nice raised shank here, so when you do have hitches that sit a little bit lower to the ground you're not going to have clearance issues between the bike rack itself and the ground. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Nissan Murano- Video

Today on our 2013 Nissan Murano we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02443. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now the most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that holding on to the bike rack you come to this red knob at the front, pull out, then come down. With that we have access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need with plenty of space on either side to do so. To put it back in it's original position simply lift up, you hear that click and it's locked back into place. Now some other features of this bike rack it does have an integrated cable lock here at the top of the wheel hook, just pull it up and around the bike and attach it to this point on the other side, lock it into place and your bike is secure on the rack. more

Softride Element-Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Nissan Rogue- Video

Today on our 2015 Nissan Rogue, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram Tilting 4-Bike Rack, part number SR26248. We already have a bike on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, the most prominent feature of this rack is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with the bikes still attached, which is pretty unique for a hanging style bike rack. How it does that is, you come to this black handle on the other side of the mast, pull out like so, and just let it come to you. With it in this position, we now have full access to the rear hatch to get whatever it is we need and plenty of space on either side to do so as you can see here. To put it back in its original position, just simply push back up and it will lock back into place. more
