Our connection for our tow bar does pass through our under shield here at the bottom, but it stays tucked up nicely underneath the bumper. So it doesn't detract from the looks of the vehicle. In my opinion, on your Jeep, it almost makes it look more aggressive, like you really have something that you're going to be doing with this Jeep. Review of Roadmaster Base Plates - Removable Drawbars - RM-035- Video

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at eTrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at these adapters for the Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster motorhome mount tow bars.Now this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 1987 to current Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK, and JL models that have the off-road bumpers with the 3/4" D-ring bumper mounts. Now because it fits so many different models of the Jeep Wrangler I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.Now these adapter brackets will attach to the shackle mounts on your Jeep and allows you to use the Roadmaster tow bar to tow your off-road vehicle. The brackets will attach to the 3/4" thick shackle mounts on your off-road bumpers, that are approved for flat towing.It's a very fast, simple installation. All you'll do, for this one right here, is you'll replace the quick disconnects on your tow bar arms with these adaptive brackets right here. And then on this end you'll remove the D-rings, that are on your Jeep bumper, from the shackle mounts and then attach this to the shackle mounts on your bumper. more

So this is what our base plate is going to look like while it's installed on our vehicle here. As you can see, most of everything is going to be behind the scenes here, behind our bumper fascia. The only thing we're going to be able to see really sticking out is our connection points for our safety chains as well as the rods which hold our electrical connector to the base plate kit. So what I really like about this Blue Ox Base Plate Kit here in particular, is the removable arm design. And essentially what this means is, you can see these silver lugs here on either side which connect to our tow bar, these are actually removable because this base plate kit has a removable arm design.So basically, when we're not towing our vehicle behind our motor home, we can remove these arms here for a very finished, clean install. more

Today in our 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster direct-connect base plate. Here at etrailer, we install, test, fit, and review a lot of different products to help answer your questions and ensure proper fit. When flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home, there's five main components you'll need to do so. First is our tow bar, which is our attachment between our motor home and our vehicle. In addition to your tow bar, you'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental attachment in addition to your tow bar. You also need your base plate, which is the connection point on our vehicle that our tow bar is going to attach to.You also need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals on your motor home and transfers them to the lights on your vehicle so people will know your intentions when going down the road. more

So here is what our base plate kit is going to look like while it's installed on the vehicle and we don't have an attached to the motor home here. As we can see, it has a super nice factory clean finish like install look. It's just barely going to protrude from the bumper facia here and the majority of it is going to insert through where our factory tow hooks were, which means there's going to be very minor modifications needed to install this.So right now, as we said, we have it in the configuration that we would just be driving around town. more
