Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be showing you the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed bike rack, part number TH501. How the bike is actually attached to the rack it's going to have 1 point of contact and that's going to be at the wheel hook here. That holds it in place while it's in the bed of your truck. To loosen that up there's a button at the bottom here. You push that in and that will loosen up the hook enabling you to lower it and take out the bike. To put it in place, it just ratchets into place like so. We'll go ahead and loosen that up, lower it down. more

Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Bike Carrier, part number SR26457. Now to begin we're going to go ahead and take the Shuttle Pad and just set it up and over our tailgate. Then next what we're going to do is we're going to take these straps and feed them in between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. There's a couple ways you can do this. Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford F-150 TH501- Video

Today, in our 2016 Ford F150, we've got out the Thule Instigator. We're going to test if it for you, and show you how it fits in the back of the vehicle, here. Now the Instigator is a very quick way of installing a bike rack in the bed of your truck, with no tools required, at all. At 17 1/2" wide, you should be able to get three across the back of your Ford pickup. Now to use it, what we're going to do is set the Instigator right here at the rear of the vehicle. You'll see the T-straps have already gone down into their location where we'll want those to be. It's going to be in the gap between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2012 Ford F-150- Video

Today on our 2012 Ford F-150, we've got out Thule Insta-Gater and we're going to test that in here and just kind of get you a look at how it works. The Insta-Gater's a bike rack designed to fit right in the channel or the gap that's going to run between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. Just position it just like so. We're going to allow both of the, see the T-straps there We're going to allow those to go down, so right in between the bed and the gate itself, and then as we close that up and that gap narrows, it's going to hold those in position for us, just like that. Now we'll need to get in the truck. You'll see our chrome levers there. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Tacoma- Video

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're doing a test fit of the Thule GateMate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack. That part number is TH823. Now, we already have this loosely installed on there. We're going to show you how we secure everything down, and then we'll go over some things that you can actually load up on here. So, I've just got this set right here, and what I'm going to do is start by adjusting it, making sure that our pads are sticking up and are at the ends, and then we'll open up our flack here. We're just going to open up our tailgate and let that hang down as normal, and because my arms aren't long enough I can't reach over to secure my straps into place, so what I have to do is actually feed them underneath my tailgate up under here and reach in between the two like so and just pull it up through, so if you're having difficulty feeding it through the bottom and reaching around and pulling it up, this might be an easier way to do so. Now, when I have that, I'm going to set my tailgate pad so that the tailgate kind of holds it in place, and we'll pull the rest of that strap through and we'll tighten it down a bit more. Now, we'll do the same thing on this side here; pull our strap out, reach it through. Let's go up and then down through our buckle and tighten that up a bit. more

Now I will hold the tailgate pad with my hip and reach down, grab my strap, and straighten that out. Then I'll just feed it through underneath my tailgate and in between the tailgate and the truck bed here. more

Then back here in the back we have a wheel hook that's going to loop around the back of it and just kind of hold the bike up against that tailgate. Now to remove our bike, we're going to come over to the hook, push the button here on the end, and we can lift up our hook. more

All we had to do was set it just over the edge here, and make sure that our bumpers on each end are facing up. What that's going to do is prevent anything from sliding off of your tailgate pad. The next thing we'll do is open up our hook and loop cover here, and we're just going to open the tailgate. I find this is the easiest way because I am too short to reach over the top of the tailgate to feed my straps though. I'm just going to straighten my strap out and feed it through underneath into the crack here between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. more

Today on our 2006 Ford Ranger we're taking a look at the Thule GateMate Tailgate Pad for compact trucks. The part number for that is TH823. The first thing I'm going to do is load this up onto our truck, something to set it on to our tailgate, and because this truck is shorter we won't have to open up the tailgate all the way. We can lift up our flap here with our hook and loop straps, straighten out our strap on this side and we can feed it under between the 2 pieces, and just pull that through. We're going to loosely strap that down just so it stays in place while we fix the other 2 straps. I come over here to this side and do the same thing, pull the strap up through the crack here, now the strap, and lastly the middle, and strapping that down loosely. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado- Video

Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Silverado we are testing the Thule GateMate Tailgate Pad and bike rack. The part number for this is TH824. We're going to show you how we install it, and then also somethings that we can put on to the padded self. First thing we want to do is set it on our tail gate, and make sure that this pads on the ends are sticking in straight up under our flap here, and because I do have short arms I can't quite reach over the tailgate so how I'm going to feed my straps through is that I'm going to hold the tailgate pad here with my leg or my hip, and I'll straighten out the strap. I'll come around and I'm going to feed it through under the tailgate. If you're a little bit taller you can always just reach over the tailgate and crack the tailgate a little bit. Once you pull that strap through, I'm just going to tack that pad under that bumper there. Take our strap, feed it through the top, and back down through the bottom here, and we want to keep that loose so it's not to tight on there, and i'll fix that under the bumper once I'm done. more

Kuat Truck Bed Bike Racks - Fork Mount - DRT9 Review- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number DRT9. This is the Kuat Dirt Bag bike rack. The fork-mount bike rack is going to provide simple options for carrying one bike. It's going to work only with bikes that have quick release nine millimeter front wheel skewers. Really simple though, the front forks of your bicycle are going to drop down on this portion here and then you secure the bike to the Dirt Bag by installing the skewer that is on your bicycle. This will accommodate bikes with standard or disc brakes. more

Yakima Truck Bed Bike Racks - Fork Mount - Y01117 Review- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number Y01117, this is the Yakima Blockhead Single Bike Rack. It's a bolt on installation. It's going to hold one bike per blockhead bracket. It's designed to be bolted onto your truck bed rails, but it can also be used on RVs, trailers, boats, a lot of different applications. Your hardware is not included, so you will need to provide that separately. The instructions are going to mention using a 1/4 inch or 6mm bolts or screws, washers, and lock nuts as the mounting hardware. Two mount locations here at the bottom bracket. more

Today on our 2015 F-250 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman Pick-Up Truck Bed Mounted Fork Bike Rack for two bikes. It's going to be part number S64702. It's a very easy installation inside your vehicle and we'll show you how that goes. First thing you're going to want to do is make sure that you have the pin out and key. You unlock this part and the pin pops out and that will be the unlocked position. You'll place the one side over here that does not have the accordion like this side does. This part will extend out to reach the other side of your bed. more

Inno Velo Gripper Truck Bed Bike Rack Test Course- Video

There on our test course, we'll start by going through the sloun 00:00:02 this is going to show us the side to side action. This simulates turning corners or evasively maneuvering. Once we get to the alternating speed bumps we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curve or pot hole or driving over uneven pavement. One we get to the full speed bumps we'll see the up and down action. This will be just like driving in and out of a parking lot, parking garage or driveway. . more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be doing a test fit of this Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2-Bike Carrier. This will be part number S64702. A few things I'm going to go over before we get it up in there. Make sure that you unlock your lock here by simply turning it and making sure it's in the unlock position. You push in and then you'll turn it, so unlock it, and then we'll press on the lever. This will allow us to collapse it like so, and then this will be our tensioner when we get it in the truck. more

Swagman Pick Up Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2012 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty- Video

Today on our 2012 Ford F250 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman Bed-Mounted 2 Bike Carrier. It's going to be a solid steel, it's going to have a sturdy steel construction, it's going to be Part Number S64702. You'll see that it does have the skewer style for the forks and it also has an extendable piece that slides out instead of having to turn it. This will attach to the other side of the bed and we'll show you how to put it all in here right now. We'll go ahead and set this side against this bed rail and we'll climb up in and show you how the rest is done. Right here we'll have our key insert, we'll simply place our key in here and turn it until this piece pops out. Then we'll be able to press it in and pull up the top like this. more
