Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-bike rack. This bike rack comes with an 1-1/4" and 2" shank. We'll go ahead and insert that into our receiver and line up the pinholes. Once you got the pinholes lined up, take your anti-rattle bolt that's included and clip. Insert the anti-rattle bolt and thread it in as far as you can with your hand. Once you've gotten it in as far as you can with your hand, use a 3-1/4" ratchet, finish tightening. more

It comes with a 2" shank, meant for your 2" receivers only. Let's go ahead and insert that shank into the receiver. Once you have that rested on there, let's go ahead and line up our pin holes. Once you get your pin holes lined up, let's go ahead and take our anti-rattle bolt that's included, and go ahead and thread that in. Get it as tight as you can by hand. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we are going to be doing the a fit of the Saris Freedom Platform Style 2 Bike Rack, part number SA4412B. This comes with your 1 1/4 shank and also comes with the 2 inch adapter. We are going to go ahead and place that on there today because we have a 2 inch receiver and insert those and we'll line up the pin holes we can insert your anti rattle bolt. Get it in as far as you can and we'll use a 3/4 inch ratchet to tighten it down the rest of the way. Once you get it nice and tight, use the clip that is provided and we'll go ahead and place that in the hole. Let's go ahead and get some measurements for clearance now. From here to your bumper this will probably be the first place of contact if your hitch goes in to far. more

Let's go ahead and take our 2" sleeve that we have on this 1-1/4" shank and fit that into our 2" receiver that we have here today. We can go ahead and get it fit in and then line up there holes. Just tighten it down as far as you can with your hands. Once you get it down that far, you can just use a 3/4" ratchet and tighten it down the rest of the way. more

We're going to go ahead and slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the 2" hitch until the pinholes line up. Then we're going to hand tighten the bolt once those pins are aligned. Once that's hand tightened we can finish tightening with a wrench. We can give it a wiggle just to make sure that it's in place, and then we're going to do some measurements. We're going to start by measuring our ground clearance. more

Once they are, you can begin threading in your anti-rattle bolt by hand. .. Once that's as far as you can get it by hand you can finish that off with your socket wrench. more

This can be used for either an inch-and-a-quarter or two-inch hitches. We can go ahead and start by inserting our shank into our receiver and be looking for our pin holes to be lined up. Once we get that lined up, we can go ahead and take our anti-rattle bolt and lock, begin threading that through. All right, once we get that tightened, now we can go ahead and finish up the rest of the way with the wrench and by tightening this, it's going to help reduce the play and wobble within our hitch on our bike rack. That's secure. We'll go ahead and put our lock on. It's clicked into place and we go ahead and take a few measurements. more

It's designed for 1 1/4 as well as 2-inch hitches. We've got a 2-inch hitch here today. We're going to begin by threading the shank or fitting the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch until the pinholes are aligned. There are multiple pinholes on this shank, and we're going to go with the pinhole that allows the bike rack to sit furthest away from the vehicle, which will be suitable for the most clearance of our tailgate. Once that's in place, we're going to thread our anti-rattle bolt into the pinhole by hand. more

As we slide it in, we'll want to keep an eye through the pin hole here to see when the threaded hole in our rack lines up with it. With that in line, we'll take our anti-rattle bolt, thread that in, and then, we can tighten it down with out wrench. With that secure, lets get a few clearance measurements. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle would be right here on the U-shape bend right in the top of it. Thats about 6-3/4" away from the back of the car. more

Today, on our 2007 Dodge Charger, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/2 and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll notice the self-locking hitch pin. We'll pull the hitch pin away, line the shank up and slide it in until the hitch pin engages. You'll then want to tighten down the anti-rattle vice. This is going to help take the extra play out of shank of the rack, which helps eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road. With that tightened, we'll get a couple of measurements. The closest point of the rack to the vehicle is at the back of the lever here, and it measures about 3-1/2 inches. more

The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 2 and a half inches away, and over all weve add about 9 inches to the length of the Avenger. As you can see with our mast in the upright position, we do have access to our trunk. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, thread in our anti rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it with the provided clip. In this position, you have 7 3/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to our vehicle is about 3 3/4 of an inch away. Overall, we've added about 27 1/2 inches to the length of the Avenger. With our mast in the upright position, we do have access into the trunk. However, by pulling the big pin and clip at the base of the mast, we can tilt the rack away from our vehicle giving us even more access. more

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Axis, a tilting three-bike rack for inch-and-a-quarter and two inch hitches, part number SA843D. To begin our test-fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down with a wrench. We can then secure this using the provided lock. In this position, we'll have about eight and three quarters of an inch worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of or vehicle is about two and a quarter inches away, and overall we're adding about 11 inches in length to the Avenger. As you can see with the mast in its upright position, we do have access into the trunk. However, if we need more room, we'll simply pull the yellow T handle at the base of the rack, tilt the mast away from out vehicle, and as you can see, it gives us all the room we need. We our mast back in its upright position, it's time to extend their dual cradle arms. We'll lift the two yellow levers located on our arms, slide them towards the center mast, rotate them into position, slide them back out, and hold them in place by reengaging out levers. When we set our arms, we'll be sure to set them level or slightly inclined. It's now time to load our bike, so undo our cradle straps, and grab our bike. more

To secure it, we'll use the provided pin. In this position, you'll have about 11-1/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to our vehicle is about 6 inches away, and overall, we've added about 16 inches to the length of the Avenger. With our mast in its upright position, you do have access to the trunk. However, if you need more space, we can simply pull up on the black lever located at the base of the rack. The mast will swing away from our vehicle, giving us great access. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the black lever located at the top of the mast. This will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. more

Well then line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench, then secure it with the provided lock. Today, on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test-fitting the Pro Series Q-Slot, a platform-style tilting two-bike rack for 1 1/4" and 2" edges, part number PS63134. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. We can then secure it with the provided clip. In this position, we'll have about 10 3/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Avenger is about 7" away, and overall, we've added about 22" in length to the car. Pulling the two silver pins on the outside of the rack will allow us to tilt down the wheel cradles. We'll reinsert the pins to secure them in place. Pulling the center silver pin will allow us to tilt our center mast away from our vehicle. As you can see, it gives us great access into the trunk. With our mast back in its upright position, let's take a couple more measurements. more

To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench, then secure it with a clip. With our bike rack in this position we have about 11 3/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Journey is about 8 1/2 inches and overall we have added about 18 1/2 inches to the length of the car. With our rack in this position, you can see we do have full access to our rear hatch. By pulling the gray lever, we can unfold our rack into the loading position. With our bike in this position, we do have about 20 inches of ground clearance, the closest point to the back our Journey is now about 11 1/2 inches and overall we've added about 41 inches to the length of the vehicle. We will now pull the yellow handles at the base of each mast to raise them into their upright position. more

Going further out on the shank, here at the angle- up piece of the mast, we have about 16 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 9 inches away and we've added about 18 1/2 inches to the overall length of our Dodge. Now I'll go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast, which will allow us to swing the cradle arms out. With the arms out we've added about 29 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

With the bike rack in this position, we have about 20 inches of ground clearance at the back of the carrier. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 12 inches away, and we've added about 42 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. With the bike rack in this position, you can also see that we can easily access the rear hatch. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we will be test fitting the Swagman Titan, a Tilting 4-Bike Rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches Part #S63410 To begin our test fit, we'll side the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with the wrench. In this position you'll have about 15" of ground clearance, the closest point of the rack to the back of our Journey is about 9 1/2" and over-all we've added about 20 1/2" inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the handle at the base of the rack allows us to tilt it away from the vehicle giving us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the handle at the top allowing us to swing out our dual-cradle arms. In this position we've added about 39" to the length of the vehicle. We'll now undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, placing it in to the frame cradles then securing it with the straps. With our bike secure that will complete today's test fit of the Swagman Titan Part# S63410 on our 2014 Dodge Journey. . more

To access the cargo area, we can remove the 3 black pins at the base of the bike rack, which will allow us to fold down the wheel cradles as well as the mast. more
