Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Ford F-250- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford F250, we're going to be taking a look and installing the tow ready fifth wheel and goose neck wiring harness with seven pole, part number 20110. To begin our installation, we're going to have to figure out a spot where we're going to mount our seven way plug. This general area is where we're going to be mounting it. Now I do want to mention before we start drilling or mounting anything, you need to double check to make sure that you have adequate amount of room to get the wires up here as well as there's nothing behind it that we're going to damage once we start drilling. Now I already checked and there's nothing back here and we do have adequate amount of room to get it up. I'm going to mark a hole, mark a spot right there and I'm going to drill a pilot hole to make it a little bit easier when I come back and drill my final hole. Now I'm going to be using a quarter inch drill bit. more

The nice thing about both these wiring harnesses is they both use module boxes, which is going to protect your vehicle if you have any issues on the trailer side so it won't come back and harm your vehicle. Now, the only main difference between the module boxes is really the size and shape. Now, the Curt module box, it is a rectangle, it's slightly thinner than the Tekonsha, and it does come with double-sided tape so you can install it. Now, the Tekonsha box is similar in the shape, but it is a little bit smaller, but a little bit thicker as well, and also the Tekonsha has a tab here with a hole if you'd like to screw it in mount it. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Fusion, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56178. This is what our wiring is going to look like installed. It is going to stay inside the trunk at all times and what I like to do is simple put it underneath my mat or put it down by the spare tire and whenever I'm ready to use it, simple grab a little bit of wire, stay away from the center, make sure. As you can see, the weather stripping, it has a little bit of give so when you go to close your trunk, it's not going to hurt the wire and we can still pull our wire out to get as much or as little as we need to connect to our trailer. This is going to be everything that comes in the kit, and one of the nice features of this kit is the box. The converter box is going to keep any problems that may happen with your trailer from effecting your vehicle. Another nice feature is the T-connectors. more

Today on our 2016 Ford Transit T-350, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. Part number is 118722. To begin our installation we'll open up the rear hatch here and we're going to pull the screw located right here and the one located right here so we can get this housing off of the vehicle. We'll do that with a T-25 Torx bit. Now we want to kind of pull kind of straight back on the light. There's a couple of pressure clips here we need to separate. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Flex we're going to be taking a look at and also showing you how to install the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness with he four pole flat trailer connector. Part number is HM11140275. Now this is what our wiring kit's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. You can see we've got the inline connectors here. These are going to plug right in between our factory connectors so we won't have to modify the wiring in the vehicle at all. Runs down the yellow and brown's going to come from the drivers side while the green comes in from the passenger side. That signals going to be sent right out to our four pole connector. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Ford Fiesta- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford Fiesta ST Hatchback, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56191. We'll lift up the cover, set it here to the side of our trunk latch so it doesn't get damaged, then we'll close our hatch gently on it. Then we hook up to our trailer. The reason you want a 4-pole flat trailer connector like this is so that you can hook up to most every trailer out there. You have your industry standard tail lights, turn signals, and brake lights on the trailer so you will be in compliance with all federal and state laws while you're towing a trailer. When we're done towing our trailer, and we're all unhooked from the trailer, we can just take our wiring here, reinstall the dust cover, open up our back hatch, lift up our spare tire cover here, and just tuck it down here out of the way. That'll keep it protected, and it's easily accessible whenever we need to tow a trailer. Here's what our wiring kit consists of. more

Now we want to use our wire to hook up to our trailer. We can just set it aside here to the side of our latch of our trunk. Close our trunk on down and we have plenty of wire to make our connection to our trailer. And now when we're not towing our trailer, we can stow it out of the way inside of our trunk. Today on our 2015 Ford Transit 350, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with the four pole flat trailer connector. Part number is 118643. All right, now here's what our wiring kit's going to look like. The heart of our system's going to be our module light box here. What this is going to do is it's going to take signals from behind our driver's side tail light, you see our T connector, it's just going to plug right in the sockets, and our passenger side tail light. It's going to convert that into a usable signal that our trailer lights will recognize. You can see the white wire here, that's used to ground out our module light box, and the black wire's used to power it, so we're not drawing any power from the lighting system. more

Today, on our 2011 F250, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Pollak fifth wheel and gooseneck t-connector with 7-pole plug in. The part number is PK11893-11932. The first step in getting our wiring installed in the vehicle is going to be, getting our wires set into the back of our plug. They're just going to slide in. There's little clips in there that are going to hold them into place. What we need to do is match it up, exactly like one of our other plugs. We'll turn these the same way. more

Curt 5th Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Ford F-250- Video
Today, on our 2014 Ford F250, we'll be installing the Curt 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness with 7-pole connector, Part Number C56000. We need to find a suitable place to mount our 7-way connector. We're going to do it down here on the lower left corner of our bed. Drill a pliant hole here first, and we're using a 2 1/8" hole saw to make a final hole. We'll grab our end of our wiring harness here, come up from underneath our bed side, and stick it up into the hole. We'll pull our wire up a little bit, and we'll make our connection onto our new 7-way in our bed. more

Today on our 2016 Ford Edge, we're going to take a look at, and also show you how to install, the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, with the four pull flat trailer connector. Part number is 118669. This is what our kit's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. Of course, this is our main goal, getting a working four pull trailer connector there at the rear of the vehicle. This is going to give us right turning brake, left turning brake, running lights, and also ground. You can see they've got a nice dust cover. That way you can put it over the end, and protect it from moisture, protect it from dirt, and things like that getting in. That's going to come up to the heart of our system here. more

Today on our 2008 Ford F250, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Bargman 5th Wheel Gooseneck 90 Degree Wiring Harness with 7 pole plug, part number 54701-003. Here's what our kit's going to consist of. We going to have the 7' long jumper harness with a T-connector. It's going to plug into factory 7-way, with an additional 7-way to rig a knot in our bed. It's get a pre-assembled 90-degree angle on it. It's going to keep it weather-tight and sealed up to keep out corrosion. We're also going to have a spacer to go behind and some self-tapping screws to attach it with. more

Today in our 2016 Ford Fusion, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number C56302. When we're ready to use our 4-pole flat connector, we'll open up our trunk. We're going to lift up the spare tire cover. We'll take our connector that we wrapped up nicely with our weather-tight cover to use as a little strap around it. We'll bring out the amount of wire we think we're going to need. We're going to lay it across the sill plate here, and our weather strip's going to take up the access, so it's not going to harm it. As long as you stay away from the center here where our latch is, we should have no issues.We're ready to plug it into our trailer. more

Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford F150 we will be installing the Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck 90 Degree Wiring Harness with 7 Hole 00:00:09 Plug, part number 41157. The first thing we need to do is locate a suitable spot to install our adapter. We're going to go over here on the driver's side right in this area and we'll use a hole saw to then cut our required hole. Now, we'll take our harness that has the 2 ends that will tap into factory wiring and we'll drop it down through the hole. We'll take our 90 degree connector here that will plug into our adapter and put a little of the included terminal grease there just to make sure we have a nice corrosion free connection and it will be safe from moisture. I'll just dab a littl on in there. I'll smear it around like so. more

Today on our 2008 Ford Edge, we'll be showing you how to install the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat connector, part number C56160. Already got the wiring harness layout here, with the yellow wires going towards the left for the left turn signal, and the green going to the right for the right turn signal. Go ahead and remove our taillight assemblies. There's two eight millimeter bolts right here. Grab the taillight assembly, pull it towards you, and it'll pop out. Just go ahead and undo these connectors, push on the push tab, pull. Undo all three connectors. more

Today on our 2009 Ford Focus, we will be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118457. All right, first thing we need to do on our Ford Focus to install the wiring harness is to open the trunk. Now what we want to do is go ahead and remove the taillight assemblies on both sides of the vehicle. The first step in order to gain access to our taillights is to remove the center trim piece right here. Now with those plastic screws removed, grab one corner of the center piece, pull up on it, and it'll pop off. Go ahead and set it aside. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Ford Escape C56160- Video
Today on our 2009 Ford Escape we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number is C56160. The first thing we're going to do is remove our taillight housings here and we'll set them aside. We'll need a Phillips screwdriver and we're going to remove the screw here and here. We'll just kind of pull out and rearward at the same time. There's going to be two pressure tabs, you can see one here and here, that just kind of slide into those holes. Now let's remove our two plugs here. more

Today on our 2016 Ford Explorer we'll be showing you how to install the tow ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with 4 pole flat trailer connector, part number 118540. Our 2016 Ford Explorer here is actually a really simple job to install trailer wiring. We have this quick connect harness here that plugs directly in line with the factory tow wiring on the passenger side of the vehicle. Just to the right of the muffler there's a connector right here. We'll just press in on the locking tab, pull down. We'll take our tow ready wiring harness, we'll take the female end and plug it in this side here which goes towards the front of the vehicle. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Ford Edge- Video
Today, in our 2010 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector; part number C56160. Here's what it looks like once it's installed when you're ready to use it. As we lay it over our inaudible 00:00:19 plate, we want to take caution not to get it near the latch because we don't want to pinch our wires. We can just close it over top, remove the weather-tight cap, plug it into the trailer, and once we're all done, we can cover it back up, raise the hatch, and put the wire in stowaway for safe keeping until we're ready to use it again. Now, with our wiring system installed, it's going to reduce stress on your vehicle's wiring system while you're towing your trailer. It's a very easy install; it just plugs in behind your tail lights and you're going to run power wire up to the front to your battery. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it. This is what your kit is going to consist of: a module to convert your signals, T-connectors, hardware package, fuse holder, and the power wire that's going to run from the back of your car to your front. This module is going to help protect your electrical system on your vehicle by not overloading the circuit, since it's going to be powered from the battery itself and not tied into your car's electrical system. To start installing, we're going to remove the tail lights by removing the two 8mm bolts. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with a 4 pull flat trailer connector. Part number is C56164. When we're ready to use our wiring, we're going to be able to lay that right over the edge of the door. You'll see the seal here is going to give us plenty of cushion there, and allow that to go through there without having any harm done. Want to avoid the striker area. You'll see once it's closed down there, we can select the length we want, and then tuck the excess away. more

Part number is C56164. When we need it, we'll pull it out from underneath the panel. We're just going to route this right over the weather stripping here, just want to avoid the striker area. See, this is going to compress for us and protect our wiring. Just like that, we'll be ready to hook up, have lights on whatever it is we need lights on. When we're done with it, we'll just tuck it up just like that and then I like to use the little protective cover. more

Today on this 2011 Ford Edge, we're going to review and install the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness from Towready, part number 118515. This is what you need when you want to tow a trailer behind your Ford Edge. This whole assembly works by copying signals on your SUV, and then in turn sending it out to your trailer. Since it copies the signal, this insulates the SUV from the trailer in case it has any shorts. Let's go ahead and cover the parts that come with the kit in a little bit more detail. Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Ford F-350- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford F-350 we're going to show you how to install the Draw Tite fifth wheel gooseneck wiring harness for vehicles with the seven pull factory tow connector. Part number 20110. To prepare our truck we want to get our spare tire down and out of the way. The first thing we need to do is determine where we're going to be mounting our seven pull plug here in the bed of the truck. We've decided to go with the middle rib here coming up from the bed. You can tuck it away a little bit more, but I'd watch for interference from this hook if you had something tied down. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Ford Ranger- Video
Here on this 2008 Ford Ranger, we'll go ahead and review and install part number 18252, the Draw Tite 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with a circuit tester. This is what it looks like when it's installed on our Ranger truck. This wire harness will allow you to replace the 4-Pole connector that's pre-existing on this truck like we did here, or you can use this on a vehicle that does not have a 4-pole wire harness at all. One of the best reasons to have this installed on your truck is is that it replaces something that's already corroded up, or in this case here, the 4-pole wire harness is actually from the factory, located behind and underneath and a little bit hard to get to. You can use this to extend it and pull it out and make it a little easier to work with and hook up to your trailer. Our part number includes the wire harness here, of course. It also comes with the quick splice connectors and a circuit tester to help identify the functions of the wires. We'll cover those next in our install. First off, this is our 4-pole flat wire harness right here, entire length of the wire is going to be 72 inches. These are our quick splice connectors. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Ford Van- Video
Today on our 2009 Ford E350 Econoline van, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt T-connector Wiring Harness with Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Part number C56020. To test our wiring connection, we'll go ahead and take the ground side and connect that to the ground side of the plug and we'll test our brown wire, which would be our running lights, we'll get a constant signal. We'll test our left turn signal, which would be the yellow wire, we'll get that alternating signal, and the passenger side, or the right turn signal which will be that green wire. Now we'll go ahead and go brake lights, which should give us a constant signal on the green and the yellow. It looks like our wiring checks out, so we'll go ahead and plug it all back up and tuck it back away in the jack stand area. Now that we've seen how the wiring works, let's go ahead and see how it's installed. We'll remove both the driver and passenger side by removing the four T15 torx bit screws located here to secure the tail lights. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Ford F-250- Video
Today on our 2008 Ford F250 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite 4-Pole Hard Wire Kit with Circuit Test, part number 18252. The first thing we're going to have to do on our 4-pole hard wire kit is locate the taillights and the wires going to them. On the passenger side we're going to locate those wires that are coming off of our taillights. This is a flatbed model so it's going to have the wires a little bit easier to find on the back end. You just trace your wire loom, it looks like it's got a garden hose here, over the top so it doesn't get frayed. We're going to trace that over the top to this wire loom here. We'll go ahead and open it up and pull those wires out. more
