So, what is a supplemental braking system and why do we need it Well, it's actually pretty simple. With a flat-tow setup, you're actually required by law to have some sort of supplemental braking system on the towed vehicle. The reason we need to have this is having a vehicle behind our motor home here is gonna increase the force being applied to our motor home when we're trying to come to a stop. It's, essentially, adding weight to our setup, putting more stress and wear on the motor home's brakes. By adding a supplemental braking system, we're gonna be helping stop the towed vehicle with an additional force there, to help free up some of the wear and tear on the motor home's brakes, to help us better come to a more clean and effective stop. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the road master brake light relay kit here on a 2021 Ford Escape. So a brake light relay kit is gonna be required in order to successfully flat tow this vehicle if you have a supplemental braking system. Now essentially what this is gonna do is, so when the brake lights are being applied on a towed vehicle here while we have the turn signals on on the motor home, they're gonna override those signals which is not something we want. By installing the relay here which is powered by the running light circle on the motor home. We're gonna prevent the brake lights on the towed vehicle from overriding the turn signals sent from the motor home. So there's really not much else to say about the relay, it's gonna do its job. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Chevy Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Demco supplemental braking system with the wireless coach link. So before we kind of dig in and get too carried away checking out the braking system itself, I figured it'd be useful if we kind of touch base and go over all of the main components that we're gonna need to safely pull our Equinox behind your motor home. So the five main components that you're gonna need to flat tow your Equinox down the road safely is going to be one, the base plate. That's gonna provide us with the solid attachment point, that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. The tow bar is going to be that second main component and this is gonna be the physical link that actually connects the front of your Chevy to the back of your motor home. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Chevy Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch kit. Generally speaking, a stop light switch is going to be required to allow your braking system to work properly. Many different braking systems, specifically permanent-type braking systems, do require a brake signal input. So it requires to have a signal sent to it whenever the brake pedal inside of your Equinox is depressed. That way, the indicator light can function properly, as well as some other components that may require that signal from your brake pedal. more

Hi there, Lincoln owners. There in your 2019 Lincoln Nautilus we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's InvisiBrake supplemental braking system. And this is what our braking system looks like when it's installed. The majority of the main components are gonna be inside the vehicle located underneath the driver's seat. This is the main box that when received the signal from the motorhome through the lighting circuits, it will then proportionally apply the brakes in the vehicle. You can adjust your pressure using the knob here and it really just comes down to a test. more
