Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2019 Honda Pilot, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium Pro 2 Bike Rack. Now, my favorite thing about the rack is that it's going to be very well made and heavy-duty. But on the same token, it's going to be incredibly lightweight and that's because it's made from aluminum. So not only is it going to be easy to handle, we're not going to have to worry about any rust or corrosion issues either. Our bike is going to be held down in three spots. Hi there, CR-V owners. Today, in your 2019 Honda CR-V, we're going to be taking a look at Thule's Hanging 4-Bike rack. This rack can hold up to four bikes. Each bike is held in place using three cradles, two for your top bar and one for the vertical bar. The vertical bar helps prevent it from rattling back and forth to prevent bike-to-bike contact, as well as bike-to-rack contact. Each of the cradles features a rubberized pad on them to give it a soft surface to ride on, as well as to keep it from slipping around, and there's grooves located in each of the pads, so that way there's a channel for your brake cables to sit in, so that way they won't rub up against your frame causing any abrasions or scratches to it.When you're ready to use your bike, it's easy to take it off. Simply press in on the lever, and then you can slide the Cam Buckle strap out. more

Hi there CRV owners. Today, on our 2019 Honda CRV, we're going to be taking a look at Swagman's Current 2 Bike Platform Rack. This rack is designed for not only your road bikes but as well as your mountain bikes, your fat bikes, and E-bikes. Unlike hanging bike racks that hold it by the frame, this one has two cradles, one for each wheel that holds it in place with the cam buckle straps, and then a hook here on top that cinches it down tight so that way it can't go anywhere. One of the nice features about this rack is that you can tilt it away while the bikes are loaded on it, even if you've got E-bikes loaded up on it, which are a little bit heavy and can be difficult to remove. We simply pull the lever here at the bottom and then our bikes can tilt away. This way, we can get access to the back of the vehicle. more

Hi there, Odyssey owners. Today in our 2019 Honda Odyssey, we're going to be taking a look at, and test-fitting, Thule's Hitching Post Pro four bike rack hanging carrier. This bike rack can own up to four bikes, and it attaches to the top bar on your frame. It holds it in place on top with two straps into the cradles, and one vertical cradle that keeps it from swinging back and forth, preventing any bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-rack contact. What I like about these cradles is the grooves that they have in them, allowing room for your brake cables to run through, without them digging into the body, so it gives it a nice channel for those cables. It's easy to remove. You simply undo the straps, you just pull away, and they come undone, and then we can lift our bike off.Now with our bike off, we'll take some measurements because it is going to add to the length of your vehicle when you've got it out. more

Our rack is going to hold our bike down in three spots, two straps here on the top tube, and a strap down here, that's actually going to be an anti-sway strap, which will help prevent any side-to-side movement, that way your bikes don't touch each other, or your bike doesn't touch the back of your vehicle. This rack can hold up to two bikes, however, if you need an extra one, Thule does make the same rack, except in a three bike version. Now let's go ahead and remove our bike, that way we can take a better look at the rack itself. To do it is very simple, we'll come here to our ratcheting straps, push down the lever, and pull the strap out. So, if I show you the tilt away feature of this bike rack, which is just pulling on this latch, we can tilt it away like so. We do have access to open up our tailgate all the way without it making contact. You can see it comes close, but it doesn't quite make contact with the bike rack. But if we try to use this feature right here where our tail gate can swing away, it's going to make contact right there, and you have a good amount of space to try to get in and grab stuff, but you don't have full access to the bed of your truck. So, this bike rack can accommodate for that. more

So when you want to unlock the cable, you simply just push up this little tab, you can insert your key in there, unlock your cable, and then unload your bikes. When we come to these cradles, we're going to see that they can pivot back and forth, and then that also go up and down on the bike rack to accommodate any spacing you might want between your bikes or different sized bike frames. These cradles are going to have a nice rubber coating on them which is going to help protect the frame of your bike from any type of scratches or abrasions during installation or travel. If we come and look at the bike itself, we're going to see it's secured at three different points of contact. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Honda Odyssey

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Honda Odyssey, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. That's going to be part number: INH640.As you can see, we already have a bike installed, so let's take a look at some of the features. Now, starting from the outside and working our way in, we have this integrative cable locking system. You simply pull it up from the mast of the bike rack, and then whatever bikes you have installed, you just wrap them around and simply insert it into that latch right there.Your bike rack will come with a set of keys, so when you want to remove that cable lock, you simply slide this little tab up, like that, you have the insert for your key to unlock it and unload your bikes. These cradles are adjustable side to side, and back and forth. That's going to help out and accommodate for any type of size frame you might have, or some specific spacing you might want between your bikes. These cradles also have a thick rubber coated surface right here, and that's going to help protect it from any scratches or abrasions during travel.Come here to our bike, and we see it's attached at three different points of contact. On these two cradles right here, we have a strap on the front and a strap on the back. Down here, we have this anti-rattle cradle, with a strap through it.Now what that does, is once that's strapped in, that's going to prevent the bike from swaying at all during travel and prevent it from making contact with other bikes or with the vehicle. If we come up front, we see we have this strap that's connecting the front wheel to the frame of the bike. more

However, if you loosen this bolt right here like so, you can slide it up and down or side to side on the rack in order to meet any specifications of length a bike might have. As you can see, these rubber straps come up and around and latch into here. And it also comes with a rubber spacer right here for any type of bikes that might be deep into the cradle and need that space right there to help keep it locked into the cradle, like our road bike we have installed. So if we look at the bike, we're going to see it's secured at three different points of contact. We're going to see a rubber strap with this rubber spacer, making sure that that wheel stays locked in there. more

Malone Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2016 Honda CR-V, we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone Hanger Three Bike Rack, part number MPG2127. Our bike's gonna be secured to our bike rack by two points. We're gonna have two cradles going across the frame right here, and then our strap is gonna come back on the vertical support, acting as a anti-sway. Now, the way we're gonna remove our bike, is if we come to our strap, so it's just gonna be a black knob, and if we pull out on our knob we can pull the strip out, and we can do the same thing with the other one. And with those straps undone we can go ahead and take our bike off and set it aside. The cradles are gonna have a nice, soft rubber to keep our bike secure, and then also we're not gonna have to worry about any scratches or abrasions on our paint. One of the nice features of our ratcheting straps are, they have a keeper at the bottom, so if we don't push our strap all the way through, there's less of a chance of us losing it. Now, our bike rack is gonna add quite a bit of real estate to the back of our vehicle, so I'd like to give you a few measurements. more

So, you loosen and tighten these knobs to adjust them along the length of the arm here. Also, this does have a raised shank to it, so even with vehicles that has a particularly low hitch-clearance, it's not gonna have an issue of clearance between the bike rack and the ground. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside, we'll hold on to the bike while we release our hooks here, and that's just to make sure the bike doesn't fall onto the vehicle.
