Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan we're taking a look at the Saris Freedom SuperClamp 2 Bike Rack Platform Style. That part number is SA4025. Now, we have a bike on our rack. I'm going to show you a few things. Now, how our bike is held up, pretty much we have our frame hooks here. We have one in the front that's sitting on our front tire, we have the one on the back that's sitting on the back tire. They're both sitting in wheel cradles. One feature I can show you is we have the straps here, three on top, one on the side, which we call our anti-rattle strap. I'm sorry, anti-sway strap. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Durango- Video
Today our 2015 Dodge Durango, were doing a test fit of the Thule road way hanging style two bike rack. That part number is TH912XTR. Now that we've already got our bike on the rack we're first going to show you how we strap that down. We've got two cradles holding it in place ace with three straps, two on the frame here and one is our anti-sway strap in the back, that's going to keep that bike from swinging back and forth and possibly hitting your vehicle. To remove those we'll just pull down and lift up and we save the anti-sway strap for last. We can pull our bike off and set it off to the side here and it's a good habit to always replace your straps whenever youre not using them, so that you don't lose or damage any. Now Ill take a few measurements. Now if our arm is hanging out our overall length to the back of the vehicle is going to be about 24 and three quarter inches, if you're wanting to park in a close quarters parking spot like a parking garage we can come up here to this grey level lift right up that's going to lock those arms down in a still position. Here we are only adding about 14 and a quarter inches our ground clearance is going to about 11 and a quarter inches and our closest point is right back here at this grey lever at three and three quarter inches. Now the grey lever down here gives us the option to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're test fitting the Swagman, XC2, platform silo bike rack, it's a two silo bike rack. It is designed to work with inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. Part number for that is S-64650. Now as you can see, we do already have our bike on here, let me show you how we mount the bike and secure it then also some features of our rack itself. Now the bike is secure here with this frame hook, it's the only thing keeping the bike in place. Now if you're worried about the straps, I can tell you with confidence reading through the reviews, that is it not a problem not having the straps down here, that the hook does well enough on its own, then you don't have to worry about that. Now to release your bike, we're first going to lift this hook up, we'll just push down on the lever here, push down on the hook just a little bit, make sure you hang onto your bike and pull the hook all the way up. more

We've got three top tube straps and then an anti-swag cradle strap right here on the backside, keeps the movement to a minimum while we're heading down the road. Today on our 2015 Dodge Durango we're going to be doing a test fit of the SportRack Ridge Swing Hanging Style 4 bike rack. Part Number SR2415. You can see we've already got our bike up here on our cradle arm so you can see what it looks like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike rack does come with a two inch shank 00:00:20 for your two inch receivers only and it will be fastened using an anti-rattle bolt here on the passenger side. You can see that that's going to help to keep it nice and sturdy on the back of the vehicle and have very little sway, rattle, and wobble. Lets go ahead start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance is going to be on the back side of the bumper to the handle here on the front at about 4-3/4 inches. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the rear of the bumper to the back side of the cradle arms at about 33-1/2 inches and our ground clearance at the bottom side at about 11-1/4. One thing your going to need to keep in mind though is if you do intent on using it with your class one receiver is your only going to be able to carry up to two bikes. Today on 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be doing a test fix of the Inno Tire Hold 3, part number INH305-306. This is going to be your platform style 3 bike rack. You can see that we already have our bike up here on our platform, so you can see what's it going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. Note that this bike does come with an 1 1/4" shank, as well as that 2" adapter, but you will only be able to carry up to two bikes on this, and then it's going to be per your Class 1 hitches weight specifications. Let's go ahead and start by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement will our first one, and that's going to be from the front bracket here to the back side of the bumper, at about 3/4 of an inch. Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle from the rear of the bumper to the backside of the rack at about 37", and our rear ground clearance at about 16 3/4". The nice thing about this rack and when you have it loaded with your bikes on it you will be able to put it in the tilt position, as you can see there. more

As you can see, we've already got our bike up here on our cradle arm so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike rack is going to come with your 1 1/4" as well as your 2" adapter for your shank, so you can use it with your class 1, 2 and 3 receivers. The thing you're going to need to keep in mind, though, is if you plan on using it with your class 1 receivers, which is that 1 1/4" diameter, that you're only going to be able to carry up to 2 bikes, and you're going to need to know the weight of those bikes, as well as the weight specifications on your class 1 receiver. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement from the brackets here on the front to the backside of the bumper, at about 2 1/4". Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack Review - 2007 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2007 Dodge Ram, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Inno Tire Hold Bike Carrier. This is going to be your platform style 2 bike carrier. You do have the option with it in the 2 inch shank or your 2 inch receiver class 3 hitch to add an additional bike carrier which will be part number INH306, but this is gong to be part number INH305 which will be for your class 1 and class 2 hitches with your 1 1/4 capabilities. Right, let's go ahead and get it fitted onto our Ram with our class 3 2 inch hitch. Once we have it inserted, line up your pin holes and insert your anti rattle bolt which will look like this with the lock on the end. Go ahead and take off the lock, place that in and thread it in as far as you can by hand. All right and with it being in just hand tighten, you could see that you'll still have a lot of play, wobble and rattle in the back end. more

Today on our 2007 Dodge Ram we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be your hanging-style 4-bike rack for your 1-1/4" class one and class two hitches, as well as the 2" adapter for the class three hitches. It has the tilting feature, and it's going to be part number TH9029XT. Let's go ahead and get it fitted into our 2" receiver that we have here today. Once you have it inserted, go ahead and line up your pinholes and place in your anti-rattle bolt, which look like this. Thread it in as far as you can by hand and then I'll show you what it looks like if the anti-rattle bolt is not tightened all the way. You'll have a lot of play, rattle, and wobble in your hitch. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Swing 4-bike rack, part number TH9031XT. This one only comes with a 2" shank so we're going to take that and insert it into our 2" receiver. Once you got it inserted you're going to go ahead and line up the holes and then take your provided hardware and thread it into the hole. Once you get it threaded in you're just going to take your 3/4" ratchet and tighten it down the rest of the way. This is going to eliminate a lot of this play and slack that you have in your receiver. Now that we got that nice and tightened down let's go ahead and get some clearance measurements. First measurement is going to be from here; that's about 4-1/2". more

Saris Bike Porter Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today, on our 2015, Dodge Grand Caravan, we will be doing a test fit for SARIS Bike Porter, 4-bike rack. That's going to be part number SA404B. This bike rack comes with an inch and a quarter and a 2 inch shank. Right now, it's got the 2 inch shank on it because we have a 2 inch receiver here today. Insert your shank into your receiver. Once you've got that inserted, let's line up our pin-holes. Once you've got your pin-holes lined up, let's take you're anti-rattle bolt, that's included, insert that in. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we will be doing a test fit of the Yakima FullTilt 4-bike rack. That's part number Y02462. This comes with an 1-1/4" and a 2" shank. Right now we have the 2" shank on here because we have a 2" receiver. Go ahead and insert your shank into your receiver, slide it in. Has a self-locking pin. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we will be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex 5-bike rack. That's going to be part number TH9030XT. This is for 2" hitches only. First thing we're going to do is take our shank, insert it into our receiver. Once you got it inserted there go ahead and line up your pinholes and take the bolt that is included and thread that in. Once you got that hand tightened you can go ahead and take a 3/4" ratchet if you have one handy and tighten that up. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be doing a test fit on the Saris Thelma platform-style 3-bike rack, part number SA4239B. This bike rack comes with an 1-1/4" shank and a 2" adapter. The adapter is useful today because we have a 2" receiver. Go ahead and line up your pinholes. Once you have your pinhole lined up, go ahead and thread that through. As far as you can, hand tighten it. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be test fitting the Sport Rack platform-style 4-bike rack. This part number is going to be SR2902. It has a 2" shank on it and that will fit our 2" receiver that we have here today. Go ahead and insert your shank into your receiver. We'll get these pinholes lined up. Once you got those pinholes lined up let's go ahead and thread in our anti-rattle bolt that we have here. more

Today, on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to do a test fit on the SportRack 3 bike rack, part number SR2403. This has a 1-1/4 and a 2 inch setup. Right now, we're going to be using the sleeve for the 2 inch receiver that we have here today. Go ahead and insert that into the receiver and line up your holes. Once you get your holes lined up, insert your anti-rattle bolt. Once you've got that hand tightened, go ahead and take a 3/4 inch ratchet and tighten it the rest of the way down. This will help to eliminate a lot of the play and rattle that you'll have in your hitch. more

Swagman XTC4 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be doing a test fit on the Swagman XTC-4 this is a platform style 4 bike rack. Part Number S64665, it's got a 2 inch shank for 2 inch receivers only. Let's go ahead and fit that on the receiver here. Once you've got a fit there, we're going to go ahead and line up our pin holes. Once you've got your pin holes lined up, go ahead and place in your anti-rattle bolt. Place it in from the passenger's side and take a 7/8 inch socket and ratchet and go ahead and tighten it down all the way. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Titan 4 bike rack. That's going to be part number S63410. That comes in an inch and a quarter and a two inch shank. Right now we've got the 2 inch receiver and we're just going to insert that and line up our holes. Once you have your holes aligned, you're going to take your anti rattle bolt that's provided, insert that and tighten as far as you can. You're going to take a three quarter inch ratchet and finish tightening that. All right, once you have that tightened down, you're just going to take your clip and insert that into the other end of your anti rattle bolt. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we will be test fitting the Swagman Trail Head tilting four-bike rack. That's part number S63380. Now, this can be used for either 2-inch hitches or 1 1/4. We can go ahead by inserting our shank into our receiver. We're looking for our pinholes to be lined up. Well, once we got that lined up, we'll take our anti-rattle bolt. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to test fit the Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 Bike Rack. Part Number HR9200. This only comes with a 2 inch shank. We're going go insert that into our receiver, lining up the pin holes in the process. Once we've got that lined up, we'll go ahead and thread it in with our hand. Once you've got it threaded in as far as you can, go ahead and take a 3 1/4 inch socket and go ahead and tighten it up the rest of the way. more
