Speaker 1: Today in our 2011 Chevrolet Volt we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the upgraded ModuLite Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit with 4 Pole trailer connector, part number 119147KIT.So here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It's going to give us a 4 pole flat trailer connector and it's giving us all the required lights to go down the road, such as the clearance lights, brake lights and turn signals. The wiring is going to stay and live on the inside of our car and when we're not using it, we can easily lift up the floor covering panel here and store it underneath where our spare tire and our battery is.When we are ready to use it, we're just going to drop it out the back of our hatch and the seal here is going to provide enough cushion that it won't damage the wires, so long as we stay away directly from the latch mechanism itself. As you can see we're going to have plenty of length to hook up to our trailer whenever we need to. Now that we've seen what it looks like once it's installed, let's show you how we got it there. To begin our installation we're going to need to come to our rear hatch, open it up, and we're going to need to take out the floor coverings. We can grab the handle, lift up and we actually lift up on the back section as well, unlock it. more

Part number is 56094.When we begin our installation, we wanna remove the taillight housing from each side of the vehicle. We've got two caps that cover the screws, here and here. You just take a flat blade on the bottom side and you'll be able to pop those off. Now, with that off you're gonna have 10 mm screws behind there, you could also use a Phillips bit. When using a socket they don't wanna come out, you kind have to reach in there and grab them, or you can take a piece of paper towel and put over it, and that should make it stick in there so you can pull it out. more

Part number DM8555002.Here's what our Demco wiring harness looks like once it's installed. It's going to give us a seven way connector in the bed of our truck, so that we can hook up our electrical whether we're using a gooseneck or a fifth wheel trailer hitch. Our connector's going to be made out of an ABS plastic, that's going to have a nice weather seal inside to keep our connection points from getting any corrosion on them. It's also going to have a nice spring loaded cover, which is going to keep all that moisture and debris out.Now what I really like about our wiring harness, is that we're not going to lose our seven way at the back and it's still going to be fully functional. If we do use a ball to tow anything, we'll still have our seven way connector here. more

As you can see we have an adequate length wire to reach down even several inches blow our receiver, making it easy for us to hook up to our trailer, no matter where our wiring harness is on our trailer. We have this nice dust cover that's built in to our connector. This will allow us to protect it from the elements when it's not in use, and to help keep dirt and debris out of the connection causing a poor connection or corrosion when it's not in use. Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Traverse, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with factory tow package, part number 118270. Here's what our wiring looks like fully installed. Now, we are using a bracket that is not included in our kit, but you can pick up several different options to mount your wiring on our website. Now, our wiring is going to give us a four-pole flat and all the required lights to have a trailer going down the road safely, such as our stop lights, turn signals and clearance lights. Now, this kit is for the factory tow package, so we're just going to have one length of wire that's going to run to our factory connector. Then, we're going to have a few fuses and relays that we're going to put in that'll start making everything function properly. Now that we've seen what it looks like when it's fully installed, let's show you how we got it there. To begin our installation, I already went ahead and removed our fascia door right here just so we can have access to our hitch and back here. Now, we're going to need to find the factory end that we're going to connect our harness to, which is going to be on the passenger side. more

Now when we're ready to use our wiring we're going to let that drape right over the rear edge of the door sill here. There's a rubber gasket all the way around the bottom edge of the door there meant to seal it up, and that's also going to offer protection for our wiring. We'll be able to just bundle this up inside of the van. I like to use the cover for my wiring to go around it, and keep it kind of bundled up pretty tidy there, and we'll tuck it out of the way. Now our installation's going to begin on the passenger side rear of the vehicle with our doors open. more

It's going to provide us all of the required lights when towing a trailer, such as your clearance lights, turn signals, and stoplights. Now that we see the end result, let's show you how we got it on there. Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Express van, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the T1 vehicle wiring harness with four hold flat trailer connector. Part number 118392. This is what our wires look like when they're fully installed. They're going to stay on the inside of our van at all times until we're ready to use it, when we can lay it out and the weather stripping on the door is soft enough that it's not going to damage our wire, but then when we close the door we still have plenty of wire to hook up to our trailer, and we're ready to hit the road. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's show you how we get it installed. To begin our installation, we're going to open up the doors to our van, and if we move to the inside, and we go right behind our tail light, we'll find our wiring right here. Now we're here on our driver's side, and we're going to look for a plug right here, right behind our tail light. We're actually going to take this orange tab here, and we're going to pull it out, so it'll unlock our socket, and then we're going to go ahead and remove the plug from the socket, and if you need to, you can take a flathead screwdriver and actually pop the socket out from the wall so you have a little bit more room to work with. Now, we can go in and push down on our tab to release our socket. Now, if we find our wiring harness, or yellow/brown end, and we're going to connect the female and the male, and connect them into each other, making sure that locks into place. more

Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we'll be having a look at and installing the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug, part number DM8555001. Here's what our seven-way connector looks like installed in the bed of our truck. With the location that we have here, we'll have quick and easy access to hook up to our gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailer. In most applications, the wiring harness on the end of a gooseneck or fifth-wheel isn't long enough to reach where your factory seven-way is on your bumper. And if it was, you'd have to have it draped over your tailgate, and it could possibly get snagged or disconnected when you're making sharp turns. With our location here, we don't have to worry about that. It also gives us a quicker way of hooking up once we couple up to our trailer. more

Today in our 2013 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle wiring harness with a four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118494. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. As you can see, we can easily secure it up to our hitch safety chain loop here using the built on dust cover. This dust cover will help protect our wiring when it's not in use so we don't have to worry about any dirt, debris or moisture getting inside causing contamination or a short later down the road. Now this wiring harness has an adequate length wire on it. We actually have it zip tied up underneath our fascia right now. This wiring harness will give us our necessary functions as required by law in order to safely tow a trailer; for all of our tail lights, our running lights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. Now one nice thing about this wiring harness compared to others on the market is that it has a powered module, which will help isolate our vehicle's lighting system circuitry from our trailer so in case our trailer has short we don't have to worry about any damage occurring to our vehicle's expensive electrical components. more

Today on this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to review and install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for the Factory Tow Package from Tekonsha, part number 118264. We just pull out what we need, put the floor panel back into place, and pull out our wire. Our door seal's thick enough when we shut it, it's not going to hurt the wire and we just run out whatever length we need out to your trailer at this point. Now, when you shut the gate, make sure that this is no where near the latch because you'll cut the wires and you'll be starting over. Just pull out a little bit right here. We can go ahead and shut our hatch and pull out what we need to go out to our trailer. As you can see, we have plenty to reach down to our hitch here and our trailer should have plenty of lead with it to match up to this. When we're finished towing for the day, we can go ahead and hide it back inside and be one less item hanging out below your vehicle. This is your 4-pole flat wire harness right here, with it's own built-in cover. more

Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video

Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel and Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug, part number 41157. Here we've got everything that comes in our wiring kit. We've got our wiring harness with the T-connector to T into the existing wiring harness, a ground for the wiring harness, then the plug that goes into the back of your new 7-way that'll be in the bed. Some zip ties just for securing the wiring down, or any excess wire, some self-tapping screws with washers, and a couple small tubes of dielectric grease to ensure that you're not going to get any corrosion to cause you some problems with your connectors. This harness kit is very nice. It gives you a real clean look because all you got is this plug up here, and you're still able to use your factory 7-way that's down at your bumper near your license plate. It's also nice because having this one up here eliminates the need to possibly run an extra wire up over your tailgate in order to plug it in to your 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Express Van 31345- Video

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Express Van 31345

Today in our 2016 Chevrolet Express van, we'll be installing the Hopkins plug-in tow vehicle wiring harness, part number 31345. When we're ready to hook up to our trailer, we just back up to it, couple it to our hitch, undo our dust cap, plug our lighting into it, and now we're ready to go. Now here's what our wiring kit comes with. Most importantly we have the trailer wiring itself. I guess it's a four pole flat connector, so we can tow a trailer and have all the required lighting functions, as needed by law. Have a converter box here, which isolates our tow vehicle from the trailer, so if the trailer has a short, we don't have to worry about our vehicle's electrical systems being damaged. We have some terminal grease here to use on our connections inside the vehicle, and some zip ties to secure wiring up. more
