What we have here is a ladder pattern style chain, so we are going to have to make a connection in the front and on the back on the ground. But another thing is we are going to have these cross chains, relatively larger square links, all completely uniform going throughout, and they are made of a manganese nickel alloy steel, so they are going to wear away relatively evenly and last you a couple of different seasons. These aren't the most aggressive chains you can get. You can get the V-Bar style or you can just get bigger links. more

So these are going to be not the best traction you'll get when it comes to tire chains, but it's going to be the best ride you'll get.So if you have lighter conditions or you're just trying to stay legal, these are going to be great, it's not really going to affect your ride quality that much at all. It is made of a steel construction. So it's not really going to rust away over time and it will last you quite a long time. more

So if you're going through extreme weather and you have ice, hail and sleet are all day every day, this might not be the best tire chain for you. But if you're looking for something for an emergency or for something to keep in your truck to follow state laws, this will work pretty well.Now this does have an interesting tensioning system and it does require reaching into the back to put some cables together. So if you're fine with that, it's not that difficult, it's just something to keep in mind. more

It's also really ideal if your state requires that you have a tire chain inside your vehicle during the winter months.Now, before we talk about the tire chains, let's look at the box that comes in. And this is one of my favorite cases for tire case, just because it's so sturdy, it comes in this hard shell case. It also has this interesting hook and loop patch at the back. If you want to store it in your car, it attaches to your carpet and it won't slide around when you're driving around.Inside it also has some nice goodies that they add just to make the whole process a little bit easier. more

Now what's super cool about this tire chain was, well first, how easy it was to install. I didn't have to reach around behind the tire or crawl underneath the car to install it. I just kind of draped it on and connected a few ends. Now it also has a self-tensioning system, which is super cool, because I didn't have to pull any tensioners tight against the tire chain. more

Now what's pretty cool about these tire chains are their rollers right over here, and those are there so that you have a smoother ride as compared to if you use other, maybe more heavy duty tire chains.Now these are meant for light weather conditions. So if you have light snow, or you just want to keep them in your truck for emergency purposes, that's perfectly fine. But if you have extreme weather conditions, like all day everyday, snow, sleet, hail, maybe get some heavier duty tire chains just to keep you safe.The oldest manual for our Tacoma here says to install them on the rear tires only. So we have them here on the driver's side, as well as the passenger's side. So if you have a truck like this, that's where you put them.Now, these tire chains did come in this bag here, and it was a struggle to take the tire chains out of this bag, as well as to put them back in afterwards. more

Colin: Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer, and today we have a 2019 Toyota Tundra, and we're going to be doing a test fit of the Titan Chain Alloy Self-tensioning Snow Tire chains. Now the tire size on our Tundra today is 275/55R20.Now, one thing I really like about these chains is that they have a really snug fit on our tire, thanks to our self-tensioning system that's built-in to the chain. It makes sure that our chains are snug against the tire. You don't have to worry about getting a separate rubber adjuster to put on your chain to keep it snug. It's going to be built-in, you never have to worry about losing it, and you're always going to get a snug fit.These chains have a diamond pattern to them. That's going to give you more coverage around the tire and thus give you better traction when you compare it to a ladder pattern style chain. more

So they're not going to be extremely aggressive, but really good in that lighter snow. And these rollers are going to be made of a manganese nickel, alloy steel, and they are zinc coated. So they really will be resistant against some of that rust and corrosion whenever you're going down the road. more

John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today we have our 2019 Toyota RAV4, and we're test fitting the Konig XB 16 tire chains. These tire chains have D-links in a diamond pattern, so they are going to give you a consistent ride, as opposed to ladder style chains, where it's a little more of a clunking feeling as you're running over bumps. And the D-links are the better style of chains you have, better than, let's say, cables, which give you a little bit of traction, but not as much. This is a great application for snow and ice. The tires we have on our RAV4 today are size 225/6517. more

John: Hey guys. John here from etrailer.com. Today we have our 2019 Toyota RAV4 in and we are test fitting the Konig K-Summit XXL tire chains. These tire chains have a manganese nickel alloy steel construction, which is going to be very durable and it's going to last us a long time. We have D-links, which are more efficient than say coils. These do a better job of breaking up the ice and getting us through snow than something with coils that has just a little bit of traction for us. more
