Titan Chain Tire Chains with Cams Installation - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to look at our TC3229CAM. Today we're putting the chain on a 295 and 70 on a 17" rim. Our Titan chain is a low carbon chain, so that's better for it so it doesn't get brittle and break on you. This is a pack of 2, so you'll be able to do adjacent tires and if you want to do all 4 tires, you will have a separate pack for these. If we get up and look at them, we've got them laid out so we can make sure it's untangled and there's no kinks or anything in it. If we look at these chains, they're nice and rounded over so you're going to get a nice smoother ride. It won't be as bumpy as with other chains. We've got our tightener cams and as you see these cross chains it's got a smooth side and it's got a bump side. more

If you notice the series of these cams right here, these always stay towards the outside of the vehicle. All right, today on this 2015 Jeep Cherokee we're going to show you the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW1046. For reference we're also working with a tire size of 22560R18. All right, this is what the snow chains look like when they're installed on our vehicle. All right, now our cables are constructed from a low carbon steel, so this will last against the elements for a very long time. Same thing with the crossbars here, how they're encased with spring and rollers on top of that so our chain can roll around and move with the tire and dig into the ice and snow as needed. Take a look at the rollers, very close to the tires, less than a 1/2 inch in height. This works as a Class S type chain that will work with vehicles that have limited clearance between a tire and wheel and also the components behind the wheel. These chains are designed for on-road use only. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Today on our 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be installing the Glacier Cable Snow Chain part number PW1046. This chain is designed for both 2 and 4-wheel drive vehicles and can fit the front or rear tire. Now when installing your cable, we'll first go ahead and lay it out to make it a lot easier. We'll want to make sure that the hook that connects the cable, the cross section to the cable is facing out and away from the tire. Then we'll lay the snow chain over our tire, drape it around and connect the 2 ends of our cable through the eyelet and hooking on the notch. Now note from side to side, we don't want more than 1 notch difference between the inside and the outside. We'll go and take it, lay it up over the top of the tire and bring it around the bottom. more

Glacier Twist Link Chains w/ Cam Tensioners for Wide-Base Tires Review - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

Today on our 2004 Jeep Wrangler, we'll be installing the Glacier Twist Link Snow Chains with Cam Tighteners, part number PWH3210SC. The Glacier Snow Chain comes in a pair, so they have 1 for driver, 1 for passenger side. This can be used on the drive axle or 4 wheel drive axle. To install our Glacier Twist Link Show Chain, we first laid it out. We'll make sure we have the cross link hook facing away from the tire, so it doesn't dig in to the sidewall of our tire. The cam adjuster, we adjust it with the tool provided to tighten up the chain and take out the slack necessary. Now with our chain laid out, we're going to go ahead and lay it up over the tire. We're grabbing the inside edge, and placing it evenly over the top of our tire and bringing it down and around, keeping the outside edge of our chain even with the inside edge of the chain along the sidewall. Next we'll move to the inside, where we'll need to hook our chains. more

We're using tire size 215 75 R15, and as you can see we've got the chain laid out here in front of us. This is just kind of, to help us check, make sure we don't have any twists or any kinks that we're going to need to work out of there before we place it up on the tire. The V-Bar Chain gets it's name from, basically a standard twist link chain. Then it's got welded on each of the links, a V-Bar, exceptional traction in both ice and snow. It's a real severe duty kind of chain, really nice, got a hardened steel finish to it. It's a good long lasting chain. more

These are an SAE Class "S" chain.To begin our installation, what we're going to do is first lay out our chain, remove any kinks or any tangles that might be in it. Now when we install it, we want to be sure that the hook is facing outward. That way we'll have the smooth side here up against the sidewall of our tire. That's just going to prevent any damage that might occur to our sidewall.We'll grab our chain, hook side out. We're going to place it over our tire just like that. more

One thing we will want to keep in mind when we're installing this is, on the back side here, it says tire side. We want this side of our chain to be facing our sidewall on our tire, to prevent any damage that might occur from that hook edge. more

Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Thule self-tensioning snow tire chains for SUVs and crossover vehicles, part number TH01594265. We will be test fitting the tire chains on 265/60/18 tires. This vehicle is primarily rear wheel drive, so we will be installing the tire chains on the rear tires. To begin the test fit, we'll lay the chains flat out on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. We'll then start with the yellow end of the tire chain, and slide it underneath the inside of the tire. We'll then bring up the two ends and connect them on the inside of the tire. more

Now, this vehicle is primary rear-wheel drive, so we'll be installing the tire chains on the rear tires. To begin our test fit, we'll lay the chains flat on the ground to undo any chains for tangles. We'll then drape the tire chains over the tire, making sure that they are centered to ensure a good fit. We'll then move to the inside of the tire, where we will connect the male and female end of the tire chain. more

This vehicle is primarily rear wheel drive so we will be putting the tire chains on the back wheels. To begin our test fit well first need to lay the chains out flat on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. The tire chains are labeled with a yellow tag informing you of which tire to put the tire chains on using the arrow to show the direction of the tire. Now well go ahead and drape the tire chains over the tires with the cable hooks facing out. This is important for the hooks to be facing out so that you dont damage your tire. more

This vehicle is primarily rear wheel drive so we will be putting the tire chains on the rear wheels. To begin our test fit well lay the tire chains out flat on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. Well then drape the tire chain over the tire with the hooks of the tire chain facing outward so we dont damage the tire. Then on the inside of the tire well go ahead and connect the male and female ends of the tire chain and then securing the access cable with the clip. Once this is done well then move to the outside of the tire and then secure it with a male and female under the chain. more

Thule XD16 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be test fitting the Thule XD16 tire chains, part number TH04805265 on 265/16/18 tires. To begin our test fit we'll need to lay the chains out on the floor to get out any kinks that may be in the chain itself. We'll then take the blue cable and slide it underneath from the rear, behind the tire toward the front of the vehicle. With that done we'll grab both ends of the blue cable and bring them up around the top of the tire to connect it together. Here on the outside tire we'll connect the red chain link to the red hook. Here at the bottom we'll take the tension holder with the end of the grey cable and loop the cable through the holder, bringing it up and hooking it here to the side of the chain. Just like that our chains are on and we're ready to head out in the snow and ice. That competes our test fit of the Thule XD16 tire chains, part number TH14805265 on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. more

Today we are working with a 2012 Jeep Liberty with 225/7516 tires. We are going to be test fitting the glacier tire chains part number PWPLC1142. Since our Liberty is four-wheel drive, well be mounting our chains up at the front. To mount the chains to the vehicle we are going to need to turn the front wheels all the way out. Well drape the chains across the top of the tire and slowly roll forward until we get the opening towards the top or the front of our tire where we can reconnect the chain. Well hook the inside of the chain first, and we can use the hook to remove any excess lengths not used. more

Today this 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, were going to do a test to the part number PW2016C from Glacier Chains. Were going to start off our test by taking tire chain and laying it on the ground and make sure that the hooks or the crossbars are pointed the right way before you install it on the tire. Youre going to make sure that this hook faces the outside and also that the yellow flag will tell you to make sure you have the right chain on the right side, so left hand side tire rotation. Now we can go ahead and install them on the tire. Well take the tire chains, center them across the tread and will tuck this in to the front as far as possible. After we have centered and tucked in to your tire, well drive forward just a little bit just to have easier access to the other side of the chains. more
