Hollywood Racks Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Subaru Forester

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester, we are going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks 151/2x50 cargo carrier. They've designed this for use in two inch hitches and it has a 220 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is HR1485. Now this can also easily be added to the rear of the Hollywood racks sport rider SE or SE2 models. When using it in conjunction with your bike rack, you will be limited to a 90 pound capacity, just keep that in mind. Now to begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we'll line up the pin hole with our hitch pin hole, easier said that done I suppose. more

Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today on our 2014 Subaru Outback, we're going to be test fitting the 31 by 47 Pro Series Solo Cargo Carrier. This has been designed for use with 2 inch hitches and it offers a 400 pound weight capacity. Its part number is PS1040100. To begin our test fit, we need to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. It's one of the larger carriers that we have, so using 2 people to install it is helpful. A way I've adopted of installing it, just with 1 person, is to stick the shank into the receiver tube, then pick up on the rear as you push in, and that should help you get it up in there where you need it if you're doing it by yourself. We then need to line up our pin holes. We'll then take a standard 5/8ths pin and slide that through. more

It's design for use in two inch hitches and it has a 400 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is PS1040100. Now to begin our test fit, what I like to do, I always put this on by myself and it's a little awkward for just one person but a style that I've developed for doing it and it works very well. Its just to kind of slide the carrier up here to the rear of the vehicle. We want the shank to be resting right there in the bottom of the receive tube, then we are going to lift up on the rear of the carrier and push in at the same time. And it will allow to slide that right in. more
