Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts SplitRail 2-Bike Platform Rack, part number RKY1140. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we've got out the Swagman Dispatch here and we're doing a test fit on it just see the space we've got between it and our vehicle. Now this is a 2 bike platform style rack. It's been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is S64684. As you can see, the dispatch is going to use 2 wheel cradles, one for the front, one for the rear, and also a frame hook to hold our bike in place as we head down the road. It simply just pushes down, secures around the frame. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4 we have our Swagmann XC 2 bike platform bike rack, part number S64650. This bike rack has 1 lock holding your bike in place. It's our frame hook. To take our bike off we just squeeze on the lever and lift up. Now, if you need to get in your hatch, we can move this by pulling 1 pin and laying it down. Then we can re-insert the pin to lock it in place. Now that we have that down, let's take a couple measurements. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4 s63380- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4 we have our Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack, part number S63380. Now we have 3 straps holding this in place, 2 on top, and we have our anti-sway strap on the side. These are adjustable though, so you can spin these however you need it to fit your bike. Go ahead and take the bike off here, pop these off out of the way, and I grab the bike while I take the anti-sway off, just so it doesn't wigggle too much on us. It's always good put our straps back in place so they don't get lost or damaged. All right. Now that we have our bike off, we'll get our measurements here. Looks to be right around 39 inches of length added to our vehicle. more

Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4 we have our Pro Series Q-slot Platform Style 2 and 4 Bike Rack, part number PS63138. Now, this does have the option of pulling our back rack out and making it just a 2 bike rack. To hold this in place, we have 2 straps, our hook and loop straps, and we have our frame hook. Go ahead and take our hook and loop straps off. I'll hold on to the bike while I loosen our nut here, and lift our hook up and out of the way. Now, it's always a good habit to put our straps back before we go anywhere just so we don't lose or damage them. Now, if we do need to get into our hatch, we have the option now of pulling our pin on the front and back, with the back mast down, with the front mast down, and we have plenty of room to open our hatch. more

Let's show you a few features. This is a swing away bike, so we're going to show you that feature first. How we'll do that is, unloosen this knob to our mast 00:00:26, pull our T-pin here, pull a T-pin here, swing it around til you get to a certain point, then you want to swing it so it locks, then we can keep swinging around, then we want to put our T-Pin in like so. Now you see that you get in and out of your vehicle, if you need to get anything in or take anything out, so you have plenty of room, like so. I like to take a measurement over here just to let you know, when you're parking on the street how close you are. more

We're going to come down here and pull on this black T-pin and tilt that rack away. It will give us full access to that back hatch of your vehicle so you can get anything in or out that you may need and there's still enough room that you can stand between the rack and the vehicle itself. Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we have our Saris Thelma 3 Bike Platform Rack, Part Number SA4239B. On this particular model, we have two straps holding our wheels on, so to remove our bike I'll push in on this, pull our strap out and then repeat the same process over here. It's a good idea to hold onto your bike while you're doing this so that it doesn't fall over. When you want to push this down, you flip the lever forward and hold it down. I always put the straps back in so we don't lose or damage them. Now, let's get some measurements. This particular rack is going to add about 37" to the length of our vehicle. We have, at our lowest point, about 15" clearance down here. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we have our Saris Freedom SuperClamp 2 Bike Platform Rack, Part Number SA4025. We have our bike set up on it already. We've got two wheel hooks and one strap. To take it off, come down here to our strap, push in on the release, and pull out the strap. Come back up here. Now you want to hold onto the bike while you're doing this, but you can move your hooks up out of the way to release your bike. Put that out of the way and get some measurements. Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav-4, we're doing a test fit of the Pro Series Q-Slot Platform Style 4 bike rack. Now, this bike rack is also designed as a 2 bike rack and we'll go over some of those features a bit later. The first thing we're going to do is check out our bike and how it's strapped down to the rack. We've got our hook and loop straps back here. We just simply pull off and remove through the hoop down here, or the loop. Now, with our frame hook up top, that's just going to secure the bike down into those wheel cradles. To release those, we just turn the knob and then turn it the other way to secure it. Then, we can just lift our bike off and set it off to the side. Now, we just want to make sure that we reconnect our straps so we don't lose any of them. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today, on our 2013 Toyota RAV4 we have our Yakima FullTilt 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02462. We have three straps holding in our bike. It's real simple, we squeeze on both sides, as you can see on this one, we squeeze on both sides and lift the straps completely out. We'll do the same for our anti-sway strap, while holding onto the bike. Now I'll move this out of the way a little bit and reinsert our straps so I don't lose or damage them. Now that we have the bike out of the way I'll get some measurements. We add right about 42" to the length of our vehicle. We have just under 9" of clearance down here at the bottom. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be doing a test fit of the CURT Premium 4. This is going to be your hanging-style 4-bike rack, part number C18064. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here on our bike rack fully assembled and in place so you can see what it would look like once you have it on your vehicle. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be first. That's going to be from the front side here with the t-handle to the backside of the bumper at about 5-3/4". Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the rear of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms will be about 35", and our ground clearance at about 10-3/8". Up top we'll talk about the straps that secure the bike to the platform. more

Thule Vertex Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Toyota Rav4- Video

Today on our 2007 Toyota RAV4, we are going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex four bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. You want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. With those in line, we'll take the threaded anti rattle hitch bolt and thread that into place. We'll get this hand tight and then we'll finish it off with our wrench. Tightening this down will help take any extra play out of the shank in the rack which helps to eliminate movement overall as you are going down the road. The closest part of the rack to the vehicle is going to be the back of the arm to the tire cover, that's going to measure about 5 inches. more

Today on our 2007 Toyota Rav4 were going to be test-fitting the Yakima Stickup. This is a two-bike platform-style rack and it fits inch-and-a-quarter and two-inch hitches. The part number is Y02420. Well begin our test-fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on the Rav4. Youll want to watch for the hitch pinholes to line up. Once you have those in line well take the threaded anti-rattle hitch pin and thread that into place.Well go ahead and get it hand-tied and then we can finish it off with our wrench. Tightening this down will help to take the play out of the shank in the rack which helps to eliminate movement overall as youre going down the road. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2007 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2-Bike Rack 4-1/4" and 2" hitches part number TH9042. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll notice it has the self locking hitch pin here. We'll pull that out to the side. Once we slide it in, it'll self lock into the hitch pinhole. You'll then tighten down the anti rattle device here. This is going to help take out any play of the shank of the rack, which helps to remove, or excuse me, eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road. With that tightened down, we'll grab a couple of measurements. The closest part of the rack to the vehicle, it's going to be the back of the mast to the tire cover, that's going to measure about 8-1/4". Overall, we've added about 16-1/2" to the rear of our RAV4. The ground clearance is going to be about 11". This rack does offer a Tilt-Away feature. more

SportRack Hitch Platform 4 Bike Rack Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we will be test fitting the SportRack Platform Style 4 Bike Rack for two inch hitches, Part Number SR2902. To begin our test fit, we will slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We will line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench and secure it with the clip. Now we'll go over a few of the measurements. In the middle of the carrier, you have a ground clearance of about 13 1/2 inches. At the rear, you have you have a ground clearance of about 18 inches.The closest part of the bike rack to the back of the Rav4 is about 8 1/4 inches and overall we have added about 34 inches to our SUV. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to test fit our Softride Dura Parallelogram four bike rack for an inch and 1/4 and two inch hitches, part number SR26247. We'll begin our test fit today by installing the shank into the receiver and lining up our holes. We will thread in the anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench, and secure it with a lock. Now let's go over a few measurements. We've got about 10 and 3/4 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the rack to any part of the vehicle is about 6 and 1/2 inches and we're going to add a total of about 36 and 1/2 inches to our vehicle. One of the great features of this bike rack are the removable arms that allow for easy storage. On the rear of the rack, you'll see two side levers. more

Saris Cycle-On 2 Bike Rack Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we will be test fitting our Saris Cycle-On Platform Style 2 Bike Rack for two inch hitches, Part Number SA4024. To begin our test fit, we will slide the shank of the bike carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it down with a wrench and secure it with the included lock. Now let's go over a few measurements. Our ground clearance under the carrier is about 11 inches. The closest point of our carrier to the back of our Rav4 is about 9 inches and overall we have added about 16 inches to the car. By pulling the pin at the base of the rack it will allow us to unfold our carrier into loading position. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we will be test fitting the Saris Freedom Platform Style 4 Bike Rack for two inch hitches, Part Number SA4414B. To begin our test fit, we will slide the shank of the bike carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench and then secure it with the clip. Now let's go over some measurements. You have about 12 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest point of the carrier to the vehicle is about 1/2 inch and overall we have added about 17 inches to the Rav4. We'll use the gray handle to unfold our rack and get it ready to load our bike. more

Saris Thelma 3 Bike Rack Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav 4, we will be test fitting the Saris Thelma platform style three bike rack for inch and 1/4 and two inch hitches, part number SA4239B. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with a wrench and then secure it with a clip. Now we'll go over a couple of clearance measurements. The ground clearance is about 11 inches. The closest point of the carrier to the vehicle is about 3 inches and overall we're adding about 10 and 1/2 inches to our Rav 4. We will now pull the pin and clip at the base, allowing the bike carrier to unfold into the loading position. With it in this position, we will have full access to our rear hatch door. Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4 we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV Aluminum Platform Style 2 Bike Rack for two inch hitches, part number N101. To begin we'll slide our shank into our receiver hitch lining up the pinholes, installing the pin, and securing it with the lock. Here at the rear we'll turn the hand knob to secure the bike rack to the vehicle and also engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. At the rear of the rack here you'll have about eleven inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the vehicle is about four inches, and we're going to add about fourteen inches overall to the length of our Rav4. more
