Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2002 GMC Envoy s64650- Video

Today in this 2002 GMC Envoy, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC-2 Bike Rack, part number S64650. We have a bike already installed on the rack, let's go ahead and get in closer and show off some of the features. What makes this bike rack kind of unique from the others is there are no straps for the wheels, and there's only one point of contact with your frame, which is this hook right here. If you want to remove it, you just go to the first up the top up here, push in this button, and raise it out of position. The same for the frame hook here. If you want to actually lock it into position, you just simply push down, and it ratchets into place. Go ahead and remove our bike, set it out of the way, and go ahead and lower our frame hooks a little bit. more

We have 1 on the frame, with a frame hook here which pushes it down and keeps it in place. Then we have these 2 straps on both wheels to keep it secure to the wheel wells. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2002 GMC Envoy- Video

Today in this 2002 GMC Envoy, we're going to be test-fitting the Kuat transfer 3-bike platform rack, part number TS03G. Now we already have a bike installed on the rack, and the first thing I want to show you is it's tilt feature. This is a really neat feature, as you can tilt it away from the cargo area with the bikes still installed. To get to the part we need to, we have to lift these arms up here, and there's this clamp, or pedal, right here. You just push down with your foot, holding on to the bike rack, and let it gently come down, and now we have access to our cargo area, with plenty of space on both sides to get whatever you may need. Now to put it back into position, you simply just grab the bike rack again, never the bike. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2002 GMC Envoy- Video

Today on our 2002 GMC Envoy we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FullTilt 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02462. Now as you can see we do have a bike already installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of those features. Now how the bike is attached to the rack, you are going to have three points of contact with your bike's frame. You are going to have two strips up here and one off to the side which is going to serve as an anti-sway strip to keep it from going back and forth possibly either hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take that off. Now Yakima uses zip strips here so you just push in on both sides, like so and pull it completely out. Put those in our pocket for now and let's pull off the bike. Now with the zip strips since you take those completely out you can put them in your glove compartments, you can put them in your pockets, I tend to like to put them back in to place first off so I don't lose them but also so you keep all the dirt and road grim out of these latches here. With the bike removed I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2002 GMC Envoy- Video

Today, on our 2002 GMC Envoy, we're going to be test-fitting the Inno Tire Hold 3 Bike Rack, part number INH305-306. Now, the first feature to this, is the most unique of the bike rack, is that you can actually tilt it away from the rear cargo area, with the bike still attached. You just pull this latch down, gently let it down, and now we have access to our cargo area. With plenty of space on either side of the bike rack to get whatever you need from your rear cargo area. To put the bike rack back up into position, you just simply lift the bike rack up, never the bike, until you hear that click, and it's locked into place. Now, how the bike attaches to the rack, it has 2 tire holds on either side, plus it has these adjustable tire brackets here, to adjust for different tire sizes. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2002 GMC Envoy th9029xt- Video

Today on this 2002 GMC Envoy, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9029XT. We have a bike already on our rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show you how it's attached. This has 3 points of contact on the bike's frame: you have the 2 straps on top here, plus this strap here on the side which is anti-sway strap which keeps it from going side to side, possibly hitting your vehicle or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take that off . just slip the bike off gently here and set it off to the side. Now, it's always good practice to reinstall your straps after you've taken them off so they're not flapping around while you're driving or you possibly lose them while you're driving. Okay, now I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements to give you an idea of how far the bike rack sticks out once it's installed from your bumper. Looks to be about 41 inches from the bumper here. Now the ground clearance, which is going to be from about here, we're looking at about 17 and a half inches to here. And the closest part to the bumper, which is going to be this part here, it's going to be around 4 and 3/4 inches. These arms do fold down for those close-quarters situations, such as parking. more

You have 2 straps up here plus an anti-sway strap here, which keeps the bike from moving back and forth, possibly going into the car or to the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off. Now, it's always a good idea to reinstall your straps after you take them off just so they're not flapping around while you're driving or so you don't lose them while you're driving. As you can see, you might be a little concerned that we don't have straps holding down the wheels here. I can say with confidence that all of the customer reviews have been very positive, and that you don't need any straps to hold down your wheels there, and that the frame gooks do well enough for now. To push the frame hooks up, we're just going to push down on this gray lever back here, and we'll lift straight up. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Acadia S64675- Video

Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia we're test fitting the Swagman Original Folding 4-Bike Towing Rack for two inch trailer hitches. This bike rack is part number S64675. Now as you can see we already have a bike on our rack, I'm going to show you how to secure the bike to the rack and also some features of the rack itself. As you can see here we do have this one cradle here, now you may be concerned because it's just one cradle but it's holding the frame well enough and I can assure you that it's not going to swing back and forth and possibly hit your vehicle. To undo your bike rack you're going to go ahead and unscrew all this thumb screws up at the top here. Once you get all those unscrewed , you can go ahead and take this plate off at the top. Set that off to the side and then take your bike right of the rack there. Now if you take a look at the cradles themselves, they do have groves all in the middle of them. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Kuat Envy Platform Style 4 Bike Rack which is designed to work with two inch hitches. The part number for that is N105-107. As you can see we do already have our bike on our rack. We're going to show you some features of the rack and then also how we secure our bike down. First feature I want to show you is the tilt-away feature because you can tilt away with the bike still on your platform. We're just going to life up on this silver lever here and slowly drop our bike rack down. As you can see we do still have enough clearance here on the ground so you don't have to worry about your bike rack scraping on the ground. We also have enough clearance here so we'll be able to open our back hatch. Now if you have larger pedals or longer handlebars up there on your bike, you might want to careful and just be aware of your hatch opening. more

And then we have three straps: two on the frame here and one is your anti-sway strap in the back there. That's going to prevent your bike from swaying back and forth and possibly hitting your vehicle. Now to release your bike you're just going to push down on the levers on either side of the strap and lift the strap straight out. We'll set our straps off to the side, and pull our bike straight off. Now so you don't lose any straps, or they don't get any dirt or debris in the grooves of them you can always replaces them, and I highly suggest you put them back after you take your bike off. All right the next thing we're going to do is show you some, take some measurements. more

Now, to release those, you're just going to pull down on the strap and lift right up. You always want to do your anti-sway strap last or put it on first depending on whether on you're taking it off or putting it on. That's going to keep your bike secure to the rack while you're strapping down or taking off the other straps. more

Today on our 2011 GMC Acadia we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Swing. This would be your hanging style four bike rack with the swing away option. Note that we already have our bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This would be part number TH9031XT. It's going to come with a 2 inch shank for your 2 inch receivers only, as well as a 3/4 inch anti-rattle bolt down here below to keep it sturdy and secure when you're driving down the road. Let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement, from the T-handle here on the front side to the back side of the bumper, about 4 1/4 inches. Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle, from the back of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms, there's about 34 1/4 inches. more

Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon XL we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Hanging Style Four-Bike Rack, Part No. TH9029XT. Let's start off by getting our shortest distance measurements here. Our closest distance is going to be about 3-3/4 inches to the front side here. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the back side of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms at about 38 inches, and our ground clearance is going to be about 20 inches. All right, let's talk about how the bike is secured to our rack. We're going to have two straps coming over the top, as well as one around the side. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 GMC Canyon th9029xt- Video

Today on our today 2015 GMC Canyon we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be your hanging style 4-bike rack, part number TH9029XT. As you can see, weve already got our bike up here on our platform, so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and hanging on the back of your vehicle. It is going to come with your 1-/4" shank as well as a 2" adapters, so it will fit your class 1, 2 and 3 receivers. Just keep in mind that if youre going to be hauling it with your class 1 receivers that youll only be able to carry up to 2 bikes per your hitch's specifications. It is going to also have an anti-rattle bolt, which is going to help to secure it from rattling, swaying and wobbling while youre driving. Lets start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be from the front flange on the back of the rack here to the backside of the bumper, at about 3'. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 GMC Yukon XL TH9031XT- Video

Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be doing a test if of the Thule Vertex Swing Hanging-Style Four-Bike Rack with the Swing-Away Option, part number TH9031XT. It does come with a two-inch shank for your two-inch receivers only. We'll start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement is going to be from the T handle on the front side here to the back side of the bumper, about six and a half inches. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle, from the rear of the bumper, to the back side of the cradle arms, is going to be about 39 inches. Our ground clearance from the bottom side of the platform will be about 19 and a half inches. Now, moving up to the front, we'll talk about that swing-out option. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 GMC Yukon XL- Video

Today on our 2007 GMC Yukon XL, we're going to be doing a test fit of part number N105-107, the Kuat NV platform-style four-bike rack. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here in place so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully-assembled and a bike on it, on the back of your vehicle. It is going to be for those vehicles with two-inch receivers, with its two-inch shank here. Now let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement, and from the back side of the bumper to the front side of the rack, at about 8 and three-quarter inches. Our overall distance that we've added to the vehicle with this rack on the back side from our bumper will be about 48 and three-quarter inches. more

Thule EasyFold Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 GMC Yukon XL- Video

Today on our 2015 GMC Yukon XL, we will be doing a test fit of the Thule Easy Fold 2. This is going to be your platform-style, 2-bike rack, specifically designed for your e-bikes. It has 132 pound weight capacity, capable of carrying a 66 pound bike on each side with ease. It has a sturdy construction. This will be part number TH9032. As you can see, we've already got it up here with a road bike on it, and installed on the vehicle so you can see how it looks and fits. We're going to give a few measurements first, and then we're going to go through the break down process, because it would be the same, just inverted, to put it on. Our first measurement's going to be our closest distance first, which in this case is going to be up here where you have all your mounting brackets and everything else. more

Today on our 2014 GMC Acadia we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat NV platform-style 4-bike rack. This is going to be part number N105-107. Today on our 2014 GMC Acadia we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be your hanging-style 4-bike rack. Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 GMC Acadia- Video

Today on our 2011 GMC Acadia, we will be test-fitting the Saris Freedom SuperClamp Platform 2-Bike Rack. That's part number SA4025. Now before we load our bike into our receiver, I would like to point out real quick that if we need to put our bike rack away for safe-keeping, we can load it into our rear hatch. That's with all of our passenger seats still up and not folded down. We can have a max capacity in our vehicle of passengers. This could be another way to store it to keep it safe-keeping. With that being shown, we'll go ahead and remove our bike rack, close up our rear hatch. more
