That's going to be part number 90195.To help us with our installation, we're going to be using the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers with the seven way RV and four way flat connector. And that's going to be part number ETBC7.So here's what our PS is going to look like once we have it installed. It is going to be a nice, slim, compact unit and the display's going to be extremely easy to see and make it very easy to use as well. Now the P3's a proportional brake controller, which means that it's going to apply the brakes on our trailer at the same time and intensity that we apply them in our Escape. So if we ease into a stop coming to a stop light, our trailer brake controller is going to ease into it. But if we come to a panic stop and slam on the brakes, our brake controller's going to put that exact same amount of power. more

With it being proportional, it senses the negative acceleration of our truck or the deceleration and it brakes accordingly. So if we really jam on the brakes hard, it's going to give us braking power back to our trailer brakes very quickly. more

To ease our installation, we'll also be using the Curt Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Adapter, part number C51515 with the E-trailer ETBC7 kit. Now, this is a proportional brake controller, and what that means is that as we're slowing down gradually in our vehicle, the brakes on our trailer will be applied in an equaled manner. As opposed to a time delayed brake controller, where there is a time delay of the brakes being applied, and you can't have a little bit of power being applied. It's either all or nothing, depending on how you have it set. These will gradually start to apply the brakes, so you have a smooth and safe stop. One thing that sets this brake controller apart from others on the market is how easy it is to operate. It does everything that you need it to do, but yet, it has very simple and easy to use controls, so it doesn't confuse you. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Ford Edge, we will be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Activator IV Trailer Brake Controller, part number 5504.To ease our installation, we will be using the ETBC7 Installation Kit as well, along with the Draw-Tite Replacement Brake Control Plug-in Harness. The Brake Controller's part number 20127.Now, my favorite thing about this, the sync feature is very nice. It will really let you dial in to almost make it like a proportional brake controller, but give you the benefits that a time-delay controller offers. Now, this brake controller is a nice, time delayed unit that has more features than some of the cheaper models, but yet this is still a very affordable unit to get for your vehicle. What a time delayed brake controller does over proportional brake controller is, any time your foot's on the brake pedal, the brakes are applied on your trailer even if you're not moving. This is great for if you're using your brake controller on an off-road style trailer. Now, this brake controller has three functions on it that you need to concern yourself with. Right now is your gain. more

Today on our 2008 Ford Escape we'll be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller, part number TK90160. Now this button on top here is our boost control. This will adjust how much brake power goes to our brakes when we are towing heavier loads. We're going to dial up our boost level settings as appropriate to give us more power. Basically what that means is that the boost settings will give you more intense braking faster than if you had the boost levels turned off. Now, if you want to adjust your braking power, you turn it all the way down off so when I hit our manual lever here, you can see we have no assist. We had it all the way up to 11. more

Today on our 2014 Ford F150 we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha PowerTrac. This is a time delayed electronic brake controller that will work for one or two axles. Part number is 39523. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha brake controller pigtail adapter, part number 22292. The PowerTrac offers a great solution for getting braking power out of our vehicle and back to our trailer to where our brake assemblies can use it. The PowerTrac is a time delayed brake controller so unlike on that requires inertia to operate the system in here as soon as we step on our brakes it's going to send braking power back to our trailer, which will slowly ramp up to the maximum that we have set here. The maximum is fully adjustable. If we rotate the dial away from us that's going to decrease our braking power. more
