Today on our 2014 Kia Sorento, we will be test fitting the Thule Vertex, a Tilting 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches. Part number is TH9029. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes. We're going to thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then tighten it with a wrench. In this position, you have about 11-1/2" of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Sorento is about 3", and overall we've added about 11" to the vehicle. By pulling the gray lever at the base of the center mast, we can tilt the bike rack away from our vehicle. As you can see, we have full access to our rear hatch in this position. more

Today on our 2014 Kia Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Arrow, a tilting 2-bike rack for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TH9042. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. When doing this, we'll want to pull out on the attached pins, line up our pin holes and make sure it drops into place. We can then turn the black knob on the rear of the rack. This will engage our anti-rattle device and further secure our rack to our vehicle. In this position, we'll have about 11 3/4" of ground clearance. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. In this position, we have about 10-1/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Sorrento is about two-and-a-half inches, and overall we've added about 10 inches to the length of our vehicle. Pulling the gray handle at the base of the bike rack will allow us to unfold it into the loading position. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Kia Sorento

Today on our 2014 Kia Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Softride Dura Parallelogram, a tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4- and 2-inch hitches, part number SR26247. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with our wrench, and then secure it with the provided lock. In this position, we'll have about 10-3/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Sorento is about 5 inches, and overall, we've added about 35 inches to the length of the vehicle. For ease of storage, the arms in the parallelogram are removable. With these arms removed, you will be adding about 14-1/2 inches to the length of your vehicle. With our cradle arms reinserted, we'll undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place our bike into our cradles, and secure it with the straps. One of the great features of the Dura Parallelogram is its ability to tilt away from your vehicles, even with your bikes loaded. To do this, you pull the black T handle on the right side of the rack, tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see in this position, we have great access to our rear hatch, and it also lowers our loading height when we want to load our bike. With our mast back in its upright position, that will complete today's test fit of the Softride Dura Parallelogram, part number SR26247, on our 2014 Kia Sorento. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. We'll then secure it with a clip. With our bike rack in this position, we have about 11-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the vehicle is about 2-1/4 inches, and overall, we've added about 10 inches to the length of the Sorento. By pulling the gold pin at the base of the rack, we can unfold it into its loading position. We'll want to reinsert that pin to secure it. With our bike rack in this position, we have about 18-1/2 inches of ground clearance here at the rear of the rack. more

Today on our 2014 Kia Sorento, we will be test fitting the Saris Axis, a tilting 3-bike rack for 1-1/4- and 2-inch hitches, part number SA843B. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and secure it with the provided lock. With our bike rack in this position, we have about 11-1/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Sorento is about 5 inches, and we've added about 14 inches to the overall length of the car. By pulling the yellow T handle at the base of the rack, we can tilt it away from our vehicle. This will give us full access to our rear hatch. By lifting the two yellow levers and moving our cradle arms toward our center mast, we can move them up into the loading position. We want to be sure our bars are either even or slightly inclined. We'll now undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place our bike into our cradles, and secure it with the three straps. With our bike secure, that will complete today's test fit of the Saris Axis, part number SA843B, on our 2014 Kia Sorento. more

Today we will be test fitting the 2 bike configuration. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes; we'll then thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. With our bike rack secure, we'll have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of our rack to the back of our Sorento's about 8 inches and overall we've added about 23 1/2 inches to the vehicle. Pulling the 2 outside silver pins on the back of the rack will allow us to tilt out our cradle arms .. and pulling the pin in the center mast will allow us to swing it away from our vehicle, giving us full access to our rear hatch. more

Now, well go over a few clearance measurements. Leave about 11 inches of group clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our SUV is about 6 inches, and weve added about 15 inches to the overall length of our Sorento. Well pull the pin at the base of the bike rack, and all it to tilt away from our vehicle. This gives us full access to our rear hatch door. With our mast back in its upright position and the pin reinstalled, well pull the pin at the top of the mask, to swing out our door arms. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler five bike carrier, part number HR 9200. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now with our Hollywood Racks Traveler secured to our Kia Sorento we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle, while the cradle arms are down, is about 14 inches and we've added about 11 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now undo the black knobs on the upper part of the mast to swing the cradle arms out and now with the cradle arms out the closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about nine inches. To access the cargo area we'll pull the pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast out. This will allow us to easily access the vehicles cargo door. To load the bike we'll point the mast in its upright position, we'll undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles and secure with straps. And that completes today's test fit for the Hollywood Racks Traveler five bike carrier, part number HR 9200, on our 2012 Kia Sorento. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV platform style aluminum two bike carrier part number N101. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, insert our pin through our pin holes, and secure the lock on the other side. We lastly can turn the knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our Kuat NV is secured to our Kia Sorento, we're ready to go over a few clearance measurements to see how they fit together. We have about 11 inches of ground clearance with the platform folded up. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 2 1/2 inches and we've added about 13 inches to overall length of the vehicle. We now can pull the gold handle at the base of the carrier to fold the platform down and with the platform folded down we have about 20 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle at the rear bumper is 6 inches and with the platform folded down we've added about 32 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. With the platform folded down, without a bike on it, you can see we can easily have access to our cargo area of our vehicle. To load the bike we'll first unfold the wheel hook and raise the wheel hook to the top of the mast. more

The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 5 inches. With the cradle arms folded down weve added about 10 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. With the cradle arms folded out weve added about 32 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sorento we'll be test fitting part number S102, the Kuat Sherpa Aluminum Hitch Mounted Two Bike Carrier with wheel mount cradles. With the 2 inch adapter already installed on our bike rack shank we'll slide the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin holes, and install our hitch pin. We'll then move to the back of the bike rack shank where we can tighten down the knob, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. With the bike rack secure we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack measures 14-1/4 inches. From the closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle with the bike rack in the stored position measures 2-1/2 inches. We can now check for rear vehicle access. more

To begin our test fit well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch and allow the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into place. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing our bike rack tot eh vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few clearance measurements. Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack measures 11 inches, and from the closest part of the bike rack at the anti-rattle knob to the closest part of the vehicle measure one and three quarter inches. Well now check for rear vehicle access. more

One quick note on this bike rack, it will work with both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, Class I through Class III. However, when using with a Class I hitch you are limited to two bikes. Well begin our test fit with the included adapter already installed on our shank, so well slide the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Well then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. With our bike rack secured well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is four and a half inches. Well now pull the hitch switch here at the bottom of the mast to allow the mast to tilt down. more

Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack mast to the back of the vehicle is five and three quarters inches. Well now pull the pin here at the bottom of the mast which will allow us to tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sorento, well be test fitting part number PS63134; this is the Pro Series Q-Slot Platform Style 2 Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2 hitches. Now with our 2 adaptor installed on our shank well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. We can then install the safety clip on the other side of the pin which will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack is 16-1/2 and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 7. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and check for cargo access and as you can see we can gain cargo access opening our cargo door completely with this bike rack. Were now almost ready to load our bike, well only need to make sure our wheel loop straps our undone and out of the way and that our vertical bar clamp is fully extended. more

Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11-3/4 and from the closet point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 6. Well now go ahead and pull the pin at the bottom of the mast to allow the mast to tilt down. We begin access to our cargo area and as you can see we can gain access to the cargo area opening our cargo door completely with this bike rack. more

A couple of things to know about this bike rack is that it will work 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches both class 1 and class 2 and this will also work with 2-inch receiver hitches with the included spacer. We'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch then we'll tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and then install the lock on the other side.
