Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee S64687- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Sitkka Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That's part number S64687. It secures our bikes in three locations; there is no frame contact. We've got two wheel straps for our wheels, and then we have a wheel hook going over our front wheel, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. One of its best features is, though, it has the ability to tilt away from our vehicle so we can gain access to our rear hatch. We'll simply reach through, lift up on the lever, and then tilt it away. As you can see, we're going to have more than enough room to remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. Now let's go ahead and remove our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Classic Platform Style Two-Bike Rack. That's part number TH9044. I've already got it loaded up on the Grand Cherokee just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. One of the great things is that it actually holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We have the large wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure to the front-wheel cradle, and then for our rear-wheel cradle we've got a strap going over that keeping everything in place. Now, this bike rack's also going to work with fat-tire bikes, so that's a really nice feature, that you can carry all kinds of bikes. One of its best features though is that it has the ability to tilt away so we can gain access to our rear hatch. The way that works is we're going to come down here. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Doubletrack platform style two bike rack. That's part number TH990XT. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our two bikes. It actually secures our bikes with three points of contact. Up top here, we've got a padded frame hook, it's going to go over our top tube, put down pressure into the front and rear cradles. Then we've got a padded strap that goes over, keeping our wheels in place. Now, back up here at the frame hook, both of these are lockable, so we can prevent anyone from removing our bike. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat Beta Hanging Style 2 bike rack. That's part number B202-2. I've already got it loaded up on the Grand Cherokee just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our 2 bikes. It actually holds our bikes in 3 points of contact. We have 2 straps for our top tube and then 1 for our seat post tube. The one for our seat post tube's going to help prevent sway in our bike while we're on the road, prevent bike to bike contact, as well as bike to vehicle contact. All in all, a nice bike rack to have to get your bikes from A to B. Let's go ahead and take our bike off, though. We'll press in on our little button here, just guide that strap out. One more thing I'd like to point out is you'll notice that the arms here are closer together than most hanging style bike racks. That's going to allow you to carry a wide variety of bikes regardless of their frame design. I'll take the bike off. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're test fitting the Yakima FullTilt. This is a folding and tilting 4 bike rack. It's been designed for use with 1 1/4 or with 2 inch hitches. The FullTilt is going to use 3 cradles and straps to hold our bike in place. We've got 2 for the top frame tube up here, also 1 there on the rear for the anti-sway. It does a great job at keeping that bike from moving forward and back. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we've got the Thule T2 here. We're test fitting it to see what kind of room we've got between it and the vehicle. For the T2, is a folding and tilting 2 bike rack it's been designed for use in two inch hitches the part number on it is TH9044. T2 does a great job of holding our bike in place without ever making contact with the frame. You've got a front wheel hook right up here. It gets mounted just in front of the front break caliper close enough to it so it's on the back side of the top part of the wheel but not close enough to it to make contact. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Swagman XC2. We're going to test fit it and see how it stacks up against the rear of the vehicle here. Now, the XC2 is designed for use with inch and a quarter or with 2 inch hitches. It's a 2 bike platform style rack, part number on it is S64650. Now, this is a pretty easy rack to use, not a lot of hassle with getting a bike loaded and unloaded. You see we've got a front wheel hoop, a rear wheel hoop, and then a frame clamp, so those are going to be the points of contact. The frame clamp, nice soft material here, it's going to have some give to protect the frame, but still as you can see, holds it really nice and steady. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we've got out the Thule Roadway here and we're test fitting it just to see what kind of space we've got between it and the Jeep itself. Now the Roadway is a 2 bike, hanging style rack. It's been designed for use 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is TH912XTR. The rack's going to hold the bike using 3 straps. 2 for the top frame and 1 down lower here on the seat too. As you can see, that does s a good job of preventing any sway forward and back. As we pull down on our straps and now that'll release them. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we've gotten out the Thule Vertex Swing and we're test fitting it to see how it fits on the back of the vehicle here. Well the Vertex Swing is a swing away four bike rack. It's been designed for use with two inch hitches. Part number on it is TH9031XT. First thing you see is the cable lock here. That's gonna come from the mast right to the back of one of our cradle arms. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're doing a test fit on the Swagman Dispatch. This is a platform style two bike rack. It's been designed for use in two inch hitches and it is RV approved. Part number is S64684. The Dispatch is going to use a frame hook. The two wheel cradles to hold our bike in position. Each wheel cradle is going to have a cam buckle strap. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee S63380- Video
Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Swagman Trailhead and we're test fitting it just to see kind of how it fits the back of the vehicle here. The Trailhead's a four bike hanging style rack, it's designed to fold up and also tilt away from the vehicle. Part number on it is S63380. This rack's going to work great for your inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, it uses four straps, it's one more than we typically see, to hold the bike in place. We're going to have two here on the top two, we've got one here on the rear portion of the top two, and then also an anti-sway. It does a great job of keeping that bike from moving too much forward or back. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today in our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got the Curt Premium Folding and Tilting 4 bike rack. This bike rack is designed for use with two-inch hitches. The part number on it is C18064. The Curt Premium Bike Rack is going to use three straps to hold our bike in place. We've got two for the frame up here on the top tube, and then on the seat too. That does a good job of keeping our bike from moving forward or back. It's called the anti-sway strap. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're doing a test fit of Thule roadway hanging style 2 bike rack. That part number is TH912XTR. Now, the first thing we're going to go over is how our bike is strapped down. We've got 2 cradles up at the top with 3 straps, 2 on the frame and one is our anti sway strap in the back here. So, when we need to remove those, we just pull down and lift up and we save that anti sway strap for last. We simply pull our bike off. Now, that anti sway straps going to keep a lot of shake and play out of the bike as your heading down road. more
