Now we already have our bike secured down. We're going to go over some features, show you how we secure our bike down, and take a few measurements. The first feature I want to go over is our tilting feature, because we can actually do this with our bikes installed, which is one of the great features about this style of hanging since you can't do it on most hanging style. So we have a T pin here on the other side, just opposite of this hole here. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the Rola TX-104. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack designed for use in two inch hitches. Its part number is 59401. Now to begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in, we'll want to keep an eye out for when the pinhole in the shaft of the rack lines up with the pinhole in the hitch. Now take our anti-rattle bolt, thread that through and then tighten it down with our wrench. We'll then secure it using the provided clip. The rack is going to offer us about nine and a half inches worth of ground clearance. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we got the Thule Roadway, we're going to test fit it and see how it's going to fit onto the back of the Cherokee here. Now, this is designed for transporting two bikes. It's a folding and a tilting carrier, really nice, easy to set up. Part number on it is TH912XTR. Now, this is something we can use in 2-inch hitches or 1 1/4-inch hitches. If you've got multiple vehicles with different size hitches, this one's going to fit the bill for both of those. more

Today, on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we've got the Swagman XC2 on it, and we're going to test it and see what kind of room and what kind of space we've got. This is a two-bike, platform style rack. It's been designed for use with inch-and-a-quarter or with two-inch hitches. Part number on it is S64650. The cool thing about this, or the thing I like is that we don't have any of the cradle straps and things like that to deal with. None of the hook and loop straps, rubber straps . We've got two really nice front and rear wheel cradles here that are going to give us a lot of support for our bike. Then that's squeezed down, right here on the top of our frame, with our frame hook. more

Kuat  Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we've got the Kuat transfer. This is a platform-style three-bike rack. It's been designed for use with inch-and-a-quarter or with two inch hitches. Part umber is TS03G. As you can see, the transfer does a great job of holding our bike in position while we're heading down the road. It uses a rear-wheel strap here, to hold our rear wheel down into the rear wheel cradle, then we've got a front wheel hook that's used to pinch down on the wheel, keeps it into our lower wheel cradle down there.Now we want to set this hook as close as we can get it to the front brake caliper without it actually making contact. more

This anti-rattle bolt is going to help to eliminate a lot of the play, rattle and wobble that you may have in your bike rack. more

As we do this, we're going to want to line the threaded hole up with the hitch pin hole. With those lined up, we'll now take our anti-rattle bolt, we'll thread it in from the left to the right and then we can tighten it down using our wrench. We'll then use the provided clip on the other side to secure it. more

As we slide this in, we're going to want to line the threaded hole in the hitch, or in the rack, rather, up with the hitch pin hole. Those in line, we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We'll then secure it on the other side using the provided clip. In this position, the rack is going to offer us about 9 1/2 inches' worth of ground clearance. more

To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we're going to want to line up the pin hole that's in the rack with the receiver hitch tube pin hole. We can then take our anti-rattle bolt, that's got to go in from this side, thread it in from the passenger to the driver's side. We'll tighten it down with our wrench. We'll then secure it using our provided clip. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, were going to be test fitting the Saris Axis, a tilting 3 bike rack for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number SA843B. Were going to begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. We can then secure it with a clip. In this position, we have about 11-1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of our rack to our vehicles about 4 inches and overall, weve added about 12-1/2 inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the yellow T handle at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see, this gives us full access to the rear hatch. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we are going to be test fitting the Yakima StickUp 2, a folding 2 bike rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit, we are going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We will line up our pin holes, put in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a wrench. We can then secure this with the clip. In this position, we'll have about 11-1/2" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of our rack to the back of our vehicle is about 3" and overall, we have added about 7" to the length of the car. Pulling the red knob on the left side of the rack will allow us to tilt it into its platform position. Let's go over a few measurements in the platform position. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to test fitting the Thule Vertex, a tilting four-bike rack for inch and quarter and two inch hitches, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then we'll tighten it down with a wrench. With our rack in this position, we'll have about eleven inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is going to be about three and a half inches, and overall we've added about nine and a half inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the gray lever at the base of our center mast will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle and as you can see this does give us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the gray lever located on the top. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, were going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, a folding and tilting four-bike rack for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, were going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. With our rack in this position, we have about 11 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Cherokee is about 6 inches. Overall, weve added about 14 inches to the vehicle. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero. A tilting two bike rack for 1 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number Th9042. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll want to hold on the attached pin, line up our pinholes, allow the attached pin to fall in the hole, then we can use the black knob to tighten it. This will engage our anti-rattle device and further secure our rack to our vehicle. Pulling the gray lever at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle. As you can see here, this does give us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position we'll pull the gray lever at the top of the rack, this is going to allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With our arms extended, we've added about 26 inches to the overall length of the Cherokee. It's now time to load our bike. more

The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 2-1/2" and overall we have added about 10-1/2" to the length of the vehicle. Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Sport Rack Super EZ Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number SR2901LR. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pinholes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, then tighten it with the wrench. With our rack in this position we'll have about fourteen inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about eight inches and overall we've added about twenty-three inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the two black pins on the outside on the rear of the rack will allow us to tilt out our wheel cradles. We'll reinsert the pin to secure them in place. more

Pulling the pin at the base of the rack allows us to tilt it away from the vehicle. As you can see here, it gives us full access into our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, well pull the pin at the top of the mast. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element parallelogram, a tilting 4-bike rack for 1-1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number SR26248. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin hole, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. In this position, we have about 11-1/4 inches worth for ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Cherokee is about 2 inches, and overall, we've added about 11 inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the 2 silver pins at the top of the mast will allow us to tilt out our cradle arms. We'll secure these in place by reinserting the pins. With our arms extended, we've added about 28-1/2 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We're now ready to load our bike, and we'll first undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place it on the cradles, and secure it with the straps. One of the great features of the Softride Element parallelogram is its ability to tilt away from your vehicle even with your bike loaded. more

We can then secure it with the provided lock. In this position, you will have about 11" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 4-1/2" and overall we have added about 36" in length to the Cherokee. A nice feature of the Dual Parellelogram is the ability to remove both of the cradle arms. more

Then we can tighten it with a wrench and secure it with our clip. Lets take a few measurements with our rack in this position. As you can see, youll have about 11-1/4 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 1 inch away and over all, weve added about 9 inches to the length of the Cherokee. Pulling the gold pin at the base of the rack will allow us to tilt it into the platform position. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the Saris Cycle-On, a platform-style 2 bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number SA4024. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tighten it with our wrench and secure it with the provided lock. With our bike rack in this position, we'll have about 11 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Cherokee is about 7 3/4 of an inch. Overall, we've added about 14 inches to the vehicle. Pulling the gold pin at the base of the bike rack will allow us to tilt it down into its platform position. We'll reinsert the pin to secure it. As you can see this does give us full access to our rear hatch. In this position, our ground clearance at the rear of the rack is going to be about 18 1/2 inches. Our closest points remain the same at 7 3/4 of an inch. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow and Go three bike rack for 2 inch ball mounts. Part number HR135. We will be using the Hidden Hitch super long ball mount with the inch rise or 2 inch drop, part number 80232, which is not included. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up the pinholes and install our pin and clip. With a standard ball mount, the rack does have a little bit of movement. If you would like an anti-rattle device please see our website for details. Pulling the pin at the top of the mast will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms; we're then ready to load our bike. To do this we'll want to undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place it onto the cradles, and secure it by tightening the straps. With our bike secure we're ready to head down the road and that will complete today's test fit for the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow and Go three bike rack, part number HR135, on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris Freedom, a platform style tilting four-bike rack for two inch hitches, part number SA4414B. To begin our test-fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up out pin holes and thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We'll tighten it down with our wrench and secure it with our lock. With our rack in this position, we'll have about 11 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of the Cherokee is about 2 and three quarters of an inch, and overall we've added about 15 1/2 inches to the length of the vehicle. Pulling the grey level at the top of the rack, it will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle into the platform position. As you can see, this does give us access to the rear hatch. more
