Well then turn the black T-handle at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our Kuat Sherpa is secured to our Ford Escape well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 21 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier with the platform folded up. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Escape is here at the rear bumper about five inches away. Weve added about 16 inches to the overall length to the vehicle. To lower the platform well flip out the gold lever at the base of the carrier to tilt the platform down. With the platform folded down we have about 27 inches of ground clearance to the rear of the carrier. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, inserting the pin through the pin holes and securing it with a clip on the other side. We'll then turn the black T-handle at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. We'll now go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 20 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. Closest part of our Beta to the closest part of our Escape as here at the rear bumper about seven inches away and we've added about 15 inches to the overall length of our Escape. We'll now pull the silver pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms our and with the cradle arms our, we've added about 27 inches to the overall length of our Escape. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the silver pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. As you can see, we can easily access the rear hatch of our escape. To load the bike, we'll make sure the mast of our Beta is in its upright position. We'll undo the cradle straps, place the bike into the frame cradles and secure with the straps. That completes today's test fit for the Kuat Beta hitch mounted, aluminum two bike carrier, part number B202-114 on our 2011 Ford Escape. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Escape- Video

Today, on our 2011 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler four bike carrier part number HR8500. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier and to the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench. Be careful when tightening with the wrench as you will need to push back on the plastic bumper to prevent the bumper from coming in contact with your wrench. Now that our Hollywood Racks Traveler is secured to our Ford Escape, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two would fit together. We have about 17 and a half inches of ground clearance. We've added about 12 inches to the over length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the black pin at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms our and with the cradle arms out, we've added about 35 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the pin at the base of the carrier to tilt the mast down. This will allow us to have access to our vehicles rear hatch. To load the bike, well make sure that mast is in its upright position. more

Hollywood Racks Road Runner Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Escape- Video

Today, on our 2011 Ford Escape, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Road Runner three bike carrier part number HR310. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier and to the opening of the hitch, lining up our pin holes, inserting the pin through the pin holes and securing with a lock on the other side. Note, the lock, when it's secured to the pin will be touching the plastic part of the rear bumper. Kuat NV Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV aluminum 2-bike carrier, part number N101. To begin our test fit, we'll take the shank of the bike carrier and slide it into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and then we can put in our pin and clip. Once we have our pin and clip in, we'll move to the back of the bike carrier and tighten the black knob. This engages the anti-rattle device. Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape well be test fitting the Yakima Stickup two bike carrier, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up the hitch pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes and tighten with a wrench. With our bike carrier secure to the vehicle well go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. Theres about 12 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about two and a half inches from the vehicle at the rear bumper. With the platform folded up weve added about 15 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace Four Bike Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number y02451. Now to begin our test fit, weve already gone ahead and installed the two inch adapter included with the bike rack, so well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install the attached hitch pin. We can then move to the back of the shank and tighten down the knob securing the anti-rattle device as well as the bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 11-1/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is four and a quarter inches. Well now pull the pin here at the back of the mask which will allow us to tilt the mask down and open the cargo door. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten the knob down securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance measures 11-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack here at the anti-rattle knob to the back of the vehicle measures one and half inches. Well now go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the top of the mask and bring out our dual arms where well undo the straps to expose our cradles. Well place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing the bike to the bike rack. more
