Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp EX on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The SuperClamp is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these cradles by the wheels. And then in those cradles, we've got wheel straps up, but primarily we've got two wheel hooks on each tire. So that's gonna create no frame contact on the bike, making it good for carbon frame, alternative frame. And with a 60-pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some e-bikes too. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Escape- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Rack's Destination 2 Bike Rack, on the back of our 2022 Ford Escape. The Destination is a platform-style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays. We've got some wheel straps down at the bottom that pull the bike down and in, and then we've got a cradle for the frame up top, with a strap run around the frame to hold it upright. Overall, we get a pretty strong hold on the bike, and for a more entry-level rack, this is one that I really like. I recommended it to my own brother and a lot of family members because I think it's a great value. more

Yakima StageTwo 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima Stage two, two-bike platform rack here on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is a heavy duty bike rack that can carry your heavy duty bikes. You have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, so, it's gonna be great for your heavy electric bikes. And we also have an added ramp that you can get additionally to help make your bike loading and unloading a little bit easier. But since it is a front wheel mount this is also gonna be great for your carbon fiber frame bikes, as well as, anything with an odd-shaped frame bike as well. One of the great features about this rack is that you can tilt it away with the bikes loaded on there, and I like where the handle is at to tilt it away, it's right here. more

Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two bike platform rack for an 1 1/4" and 2" hitches on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is a heavy duty bike rack that's gonna allow you to carry bikes of up to 45 pounds per bike. It is a frame hold, so if you have a carbon frame style bike or anything with a weird shaped frame, this might not be the one for you. But this does have a lot of great value considering its price point because you can tilt it away with the bikes still loaded. And that way we can access our hatch, grab anything we might need, even sit in there and change our shoes. So we have three attachment points keeping your bike on the rack. more

Now this is gonna have a 60 pound weight capacity, which is gonna be able to hold a majority of the bikes you may be getting, including your heavier mountain bikes and then some of your e-bikes. Along with that, like I said, it'll be able to hold carbon frame and odd shape frame bikes, because it holds the bike by the wheels. Howdy everyone. John here, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great choice if you need a bike rack that is going to be able to hold heavier bikes, but also have a way of getting those bikes off that bike rack as well. Now when it comes to weight capacity it's going to have 66 pounds for each bike. That's gonna be relatively good. Gonna be able to hold some of your heavier mountain bikes or any of your electric bikes that you may run into. more

Taking a closer look at it, it actually is going to have a pretty good weight capacity 70 pounds per bike, and it's also going to have a slew of features. Let's take a closer look. Now, like I said, it's going to have a pretty good weight capacity which is going to be able to hold everything from your heavier mountain bikes to your E-bikes, but it unfortunately will not be able to hold any of your fat tire bikes, because it only has a three inch tire width capacity. more

Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-Bike Platform Rack here on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is honestly probably my favorite rack, all the details and features all add up and make it a really pleasant experience working with this rack. First and foremost, you have a 67 pound weight capacity, so it's gonna be great for carrying those heavy electric bikes, and since it is a dual wheel mount, you don't have to worry about your carbon frame bikes, the women's bikes, or anything with a weird shaped frame. I'm gonna go ahead and start by tilting it away, there is a lever back here, you just push that and tilt it away, and now, we can go ahead and grab anything out of our hatch. We have plenty of room to even sit down, change our shoes if we need. What makes this one of my favorite racks is just how quick it is to take your bike on and off the rack, giving you more time to enjoy your bike ride. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hi to everyone, John here, and today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Destination E-Bike on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great choice if you need to get your e-bikes or your bigger fat tire bikes out onto the trail, and get to riding. It's going to have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, along with a 4.5 wheel width maximum, which is really good. You'll be able to hold the majority of your bikes that you run into, whether those are mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, or e-bikes. Along with that, I do wanna point out that this is frame mounted, so, if you have odd shaped frames, it's a little bit hard to work with. As you can see, even though we have a straight frame, it's still a little bit of a pain to, kind of, get in the right position, and then, also you won't be able to use this on any kind of carbon frame, so that's always something to keep in mind, but, if you happen to have something that's a little bit sturdier and heartier, I think this is gonna be a good choice. more

Howdy everyone, John here, and today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Destination Two Bike on our 2020 Ford Escape. This is gonna be a great way to get your road bikes to the trail. So let's take a closer look. So this is gonna have a 35 weight capacity per bike, so that's gonna be pretty good for your road bikes and some of your lighter mountain bikes, but I would not recommend this for heavier, fat tire bikes or e-bikes. It's also not gonna be great for any odd shaped frame bikes or any kind of carbon frame because it is frame-mounted. So keep that in mind. more

Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Review- 2020 Ford Escape- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here, at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Kuat Transfer, 2-Bike Platform Rack, for an inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, on a 2020 Ford Escape. So, this also comes in just a two inch hitch version. And that will allow you to carry 60 pounds per bike. But, for the inch and a quarter and two inch version, that we have here, we're gonna be able to carry up to 40 pounds per bike. So, being a front wheel hold, and nothing's touching the frame, this is gonna be excellent for the carbon frame style bikes, women's step-through bikes or anything with an odd shaped frame. more

Kuat NV 2-0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2020 Ford Escape- Video
How's it going Ethan with etrailer here to show you the NV Base 2.0 on the 2020 Ford Escape. So with the NV Base, you have the wheel hook here as your primary point of contact and the strap in the back as your secondary point, so there's no contact with the frame at all, which is great for carbon bikes or alternative frame bikes. So your wheel base here will support you from anywhere up to 50 inches, and the weight capacity is about 60 pounds per bike, so it'll support most of your larger mountain bikes and maybe even some e-bikes. So if you come down here, you can see this pedal that allows you to tilt this back, and that gives you a little bit more room to see if you can't get enough clearance to open your hatch. So as you can see here, plenty of room, no real troubles with that. They go right back down, and then you can come right back around to the front, lift this guy up until you hear a click, and then you should be nice and secure and ready to go. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Ford Ranger- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the CURT Premium on our 2019 Ford Ranger. A CURT Premium is a hanging style bike rack. It holds the bike by the frame up here and lets it hang down holding it in place with these two straps over top that keep it held in the cradles. There's a third strap around the seat post to help with our side to side movement limiting our bike to bike contact or, in some cases like this where the bike is actually quite close to the vehicle hopefully limiting that bike to vehicle contact as well. more

It's gonna be a platform style bike rack right away you notice that it's got something that other bike racks don't and that's the lights that here. So it's right there in tune with the lights on the back of your vehicle so you don't have to worry about anybody not seeing the brake lights if you have it pulled it over with two bikes. So the plugs right into the four pole on your vehicle on the Explorer it's there. So they work really nice. I think they look cool, but other than that, platform style rack, which means it's gonna sit the bike's gonna sit on the platform. more

So you can see it handles it just fine because there's gonna be more vibration, more weight here, on the bike rack, so it's specially built for that. So this bike rack is a great all around bike rack at an affordable price compared to similar racks. You got your great weight capacity for your heavy bikes, you have that front wheel mount. So even if you have a carbon fiber frame bike or woman's bike or alternate frame, this is gonna work out for you. Now, some things that won't work out is things like the tilt away. We can tilt this bike rack away and it goes down a decent bit but not enough where we can completely lower our tailgate. more

I do wanna address one of the big questions that we get asked all the time in regards to hitch-mounted bike racks, and that's if, "You're gonna be able to have access to the back of your Escape" And with this one, the answer is yes. It does fold down outta the way, and to do that, it's just a pen and clip, pull it out. The Yakima Hangtight is gonna be, in my opinion, the best bike rack for your 2019 Ford Transit, T-350, because we have so much room for a lot of people. We wanna be able to bring as many bikes as possible. Unless you have a truck and using a tailgate pad, there's not any other kind of options for getting six bikes to wherever you wanna go. So with this, all you're gonna need is a two-inch hit receiver. That's the only option for this specific vehicle. We actually installed this one. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty- Video

This bike rack is gonna be great for carrying a lot of different styles of bikes as well as the weight capacities. Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa bike rack on a 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty. This bike rack is gonna be great for hauling any bike that is up to 40 pounds per tray and the front wheel mount is gonna make it great for your carbon frame styled bikes because you're not gonna warp or damage the frame. And it's also gonna be great for your women's step through bikes or really any frame that's odd shaped. One of the cool features about this rack is the tilt away feature. And that way we can leave our bikes on and still have room to jump on the tailgates to grab our helmets or waters, whatever we need for our bike ride. We also have an integrated lock core for our bike cables and they are gonna be keyed alike with the lock that comes included on your hitch pin as well. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Bronco- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at "etrailer." Today, on our 2022 Ford Bronco, we're gonna be checking out the Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Mounted Bike Rack. So first impressions of the rack on the back of the Bronco. I think it looks good. The Thule has a timeless design of, like the Bronco. So it's a good match. One thing I'm really happy to see is that it actually fits and actually works, 'cause, with these Broncos and Jeeps and things like that, that have these spare tires on the back, you lose a lot of your clearance. more
