We have about 19-3/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point to the rack to the back of the Suburban is about 10-3/4", and overall we've added about 23" to the length of the Suburban. By pulling the silver pin at the base of the rack, it will allow us to tilt it away from our vehicle, giving us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll get ready to load our bike. We'll begin this by pulling the black lever at the top of the mast, and swinging out our cradle arms. With our cradle arms out in this position, we have added about 33-1/2" to the back of the Suburban. We will now undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the wheel cradles, and secure it with the straps. more
