Today we're going to review the Thule gate mate pad and bike carrier for compact trucks, part number TH823. This is the 54 inch model designed to be used with compact and mini trucks. The gate mate is an inexpensive way to transport a lot of bikes where you can load and unload quickly. The gate mate is padded all the way around to not only protect your truck, but also protect the bikes that you're carrying. There are two blocks at the top to act as stops to keep your bikes from sliding too far to the lt or to the right. There's a strap that's stitched in to the top of our gate mate that we can use as an anchor point when we're ready to secure our bikes after we load them up. more
