Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on our 2021 Subaru Outback wagon. Now on the Subaru, you know we are getting a decent amount of space in the back here but especially when you start getting some of those longer hauls, you don't want to start taking some of those big, heavy coolers with us. This can be an excellent way of just extending that cargo space and allowing us to get a lot more friends and family in our vehicle. more

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on our 2014 Subaru Outback. It's gonna be a good solution if you don't have enough space on the inside, when you get some of your stuff out here, give everybody more legroom, making everybody happier on those longer trips. Or if you have muddy gear, dirty gear, sandy gear, you can all store it out here. That way, the mess is out here and never goes inside your vehicle. It's much easier to spread this over the hose, than it is to vacuum the inside of your vehicle. more

etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon

Zack: Hi everybody, Zack here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon. This is going to be an excellent way to give you some extra storage capacity in our Outback. This is going to give us a 500 pound load limit when it comes to stacking stuff up on here. Now when it says 500 pounds it doesn't mean you can put 500 pounds directly in one spot, that's evenly distributed, but that is right in line with most of the cargo carriers out there. And with this being made of aluminum, it's extremely lightweight. more

So you can create more space on the inside for passengers, just more leg or elbow room, or even times where maybe you have a bunch of muddy gear that you want to be able to take home, but you don't want to get out on the floorboard of your Subaru, you can get it onto your cargo carrier, strap it down, and then, when you get home, you could just spray off the cargo carrier rather than having to clean off your carpet floor mats in your Subaru. We are going to have a 500 pound weight capacity on our cargo carrier right here. So, go ahead and take some measurements for storage space .. On the width, inside rail to inside rail, it's going to be about 60 inches. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon

Today in our 2014 Subaru outback wagon we're doing a test fit of the Carpod wall 23 by 47 cargo carrier. That part number is M2205, its designed to work with 2 inch hinges. So the first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements here, are ground clearance is going to be first. We are going to have about 17 and 1/4 inches of clearance overall for our vehicle we're adding about 31 and 3/4 inches and our closes point to our Outback will be here at our reyshank 00:42 and that's going to be about 2 and 1/4 inches away there. Now on our Subaru we have a single driver's side exhaust, it does come straight out and towards the ground down here, so we're not going to have any problems carrying heat sensative materials on our carrier since it heads directly towards the ground. Now unfortunately in this position we aren't able to access our back hatch area but if we take out our pins at each corner here, we'll remove those, we're able to set our sides all the way down for a more compact position. So leave those sitting up, we'll set our pins off to the side leave them somewhere where we won't lose them like our glove box or somewhere in our vehicle. We'll pull our strap through just underneath our bars here or sides here and then we are going to close those down and its just going to make it easier to pull out and secure our sides, so they don't move whenever we're driving down the road. Now in this position here we are able to access our back hatch area, we can get anything in or out that we may need, and we might be able to stand in between the carrier and the vehicle. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon c18150

Today, on our 2012 Subaru Outback, we're doing a test fit of the 20x60 Curt Cargo Carrier, part # is C18150. We already have it on our vehicle, just going to show you a few features of it. The first feature I like to shohw is the mesh bottom, with a mesh bottom, you should keep all your dirt and debris out of your cargo. It also has a nice black powder coat, that's going to help from rust and corrosion, and it can hold up to 500 pounds. Let's go ahead and take a couple of measurement, first will be overall distance added to our vehicle, and I'm looking at 29" here, our closest point right here, that's going to be 8", and then for our ground clearance, I'm looking at 14" right up under here. With the 2012 Subaru Outback, the exhaust system is on your driver's side and is pointing downward, so just keep that in mind if you have any heat-sensitive material that you want to place it toward the middle or even the passenger side itself. When the cargo carrier is empty in this position, you can get in and out of your hatch, but we always want to give you the break point when you're loading up your cargo carrier that you may not want to go past. I'm looking at 22", so just keep that in mind when you're loading up your cargo carrier, that you go any higher than that, you won't be able to get in and out of your hatch. This cargo carrier is equipped for 2" hitches only, it does not come with the pin and clip, you can find those on our website, that Part # is PC3. more
