Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2017 KIA Sportage we're doing a test fit of the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier. That part number is C18110. Now this is designed to work with both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. It is a pretty light weight carrier so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. We're going to start off here with it inserted taking a few measurements. First is going to be ground clearance. This is about 14 1/4 inches. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2008 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on this 2008 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test fitting the 48 X 21 Max Tow Cargo Carrier, Part #MT70422. This has a 500 pound carrying capacity, but it's made of a very strong and sturdy aluminum material. It also has these points here, which can be used as tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. Next, we're going to go ahead and give you some measurements. The first is going to be how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper, since that's the furthest point out. To this edge here, we're about 23 1/2 inches. For our ground clearance, we're about here, it's about 10 1/2 inches. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2008 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on this 2008 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test fitting the 23 by 60 Stromberg Carlson cargo carrier, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. It also has this nice mesh floor here, which makes it easier to clear. Around the border of the cargo carrier, we have these tie down points that you can use for either your ratchet straps, or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. Also, if you're going to be blocking off the actual license plate, there are temporary license plate mounts here at the front that you can buy separately. It has a nice mesh floor which is going to make it a lot easier to clean, and around the border of the cargo carrier we have these points which can be used as tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tighten down your gear. Next, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements, the first being how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper to this edge here. It's about 22-1/2 inches. For our ground clearance to the end of this bolt here, it's about 13-1/2 inches. The closest point at this edge here is about 4 inches. more

Part number CC-100. This carrier has a platform that's made of a larger expanded steel, so even bigger rocks and stuff should fall right down in through. MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sportage- Video
Today in our 2015 Kia Sportage, we got out the Maxx Tow 21x48 Aluminum Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier is designed to carry up to 500 pounds, works for 2 inch hitches. Part number is MT70422. As you can see this aluminum carrier offers a slack style floor, so we've got nice large areas for dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall down and out. Raised edge around the outside is going to be about 2 inches high, this is going to give us good support for gear front to back, side to side. We've also got 4 pre-drilled connection points over at each corner for stretch, so we can get everything nice and secure. Now overall our carrier is going to take up about 5 1/2 inches. more

Today, on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we've gotten out the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier. We're going to test fit it. This cargo carrier has been designed to carry up to 500-lbs and it's also for use with 2" hitches. Part number on it is C18151. Now, this carrier offers a medium-sized expanded steel so we're going to get good support for our gear, but also we're going to have plenty of areas for that dirt and debris to fall down and out. As you can see, our raised edge is about 5-1/2" high. That's going to give us good support for our load, front and back, sided to side. more

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage we've got the Curt 20x60 Cargo Carrier. We're just fitting it to see how it goes on the back of the vehicle here. Now, this carrier is designed for use with 2 inch hitches and it will support up to 500 pounds. Part number is C18150. The thing I like about the Curt is the size of the expanded steel here. We've got plenty of room for dirt and debris to fall down and out, but we're not going to have to worry about those smaller items slipping through either. The raised edge all the way around the outside is going to be about 5.5 inches high, gives us good support for our load, and its also going to offer us some good connection points so we can get everything strapped down once we do have it loaded up. more

Curt Folding Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Curt aluminum cargo carrier, part number C18100. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch and securing it with a pin and clip. Now that the carrier is secured we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about nine inches of ground clearance with the platform folded up. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about a quarter of an inch away. I would use caution when carrying the cargo carrier in its folded up position as there is some rattle when using a normal pin and clip. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Kirk 17 x 46 Cargo Carrier, part #C18145. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the Cargo Carrier into the opening of the hitch, threading in our ___ and tightening it with awrench. With the Cargo Carrier secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 10-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear of the Cargo Carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportageis about 1" away, and we've added about 20-1/2" to the overall length of our vehicle. Now the exhaust on this particular vehicle does exit on the passenger side about 9-1/2" away from the base of our Cargo Carrier. Now the cargo door does break over the surface of our carrier at about 18". more

At the rear of the carrier, we have about 10-1/2 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Sportage is about 1/2 inch away, and we've added about 26-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Sportage. Now, the vehicle's exhaust does exit on the passenger's side, about 10 inches away, and the cargo door does break over the surface of the carrier at about 17 inches. That will complete today's test fit for the Surco Cargo Carrier, part number 52018, on our 2013 Kia Sportage. . more
