Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. The OnRamp is a platform style bike rack. It's gonna hold the bikes in these trays and primarily by our frame up top. We have this cradle with a strap run around the frame to hold it in place as well as two wheel straps in the bottom that pull the bike down and in. The result is actually a really strong hold. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Thule Helium Platform XT on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. The Helium's gonna be a platform style bike rack like the name suggests, it's gonna hold the bike in these trays and by our wheels. You've got a dual wheel mount design here holding the bike by each tire. That means zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and it does have a 45 pound weight capacity per bike, so not the best option for e-bikes. I think overall it works fairly okay on the RAV4, although there are some concerning fitment issues that we'll point out as the video goes on, but just know that kind of going into it. more

The MonoRail is a platform style bike rack that holds a bike in these trays with these wheel cradles and primarily by our front tire using this wheel hook. That's gonna mean there is no frame contact over the bike rack, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. And with the 60-pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some e-bikes too with that battery removed. Getting the bike unloaded is pretty straightforward. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination e-bike rack on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. Now, like the name suggests this is going to be a bike rack tailored towards e-bikes. It's got a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, so it's a little bit heavier, a little bit more than the typical 60 pounds you might see in a lot of other bike racks. So if you've got a heavier e-bike this might be a great way to go, plus it's gonna be really easy to operate, like we'll show you later in the video. It's gonna hold the bike in these trays with three straps at the bottom, but primarily with our frame clamp up top that just tightens down around the frame. more

The StageTwo is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays and by our front tire using the wheel hook. That's gonna make so it has zero frame contact on the actual bike, making it good for carbon frame bikes like you see here, alternative frame bikes and even some e-bikes with that 70 pound weight capacity per bike, giving that a little bit of an edge above the standard 60 pounds you might see on other e-bike compatible bike racks. This does have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XTC2 Tilt on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. The XTC is a platform style bike rack. It holds a bike in these wheel hoops and primarily by our frame up here using our frame hook. Now because it uses a frame hook, we do wanna be cautious of carbon frame bikes and probably avoid using those, because frame contact can damage it. And then with alternative frame bikes, you don't have a good solid attachment point up top, so you probably are gonna need a bike adapter bar to make sure that you're getting solid contact with the bike. more

Swagman RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com, and today we are looking at the Swagman XC2 bike platform style rack here on our 2020 Toyota Rav4. So this is a great option if you want a platform style rack with all the essential features and you don't want to have to pay extra for those extra bells and whistles that you may not need. The way our bike is mounted to this rack here is by these wheel loops at the bottom and a frame mount. So if you look at the wheel loops, they can accommodate bike tire width of 3 1/2 inches, and you can loosen this and move it back and forth to accommodate bikes that are longer or shorter wheel bases.This has a frame mount up here, so if you want to dismount your bike. What I like to do is actually take off the frame mounts completely, just so that I don't have to lift the bike over the mast. So with this frame mount off, I can then just lower it by releasing this pin at the bottom right there. more

So this bike rack is designed for your heavy e-bikes. It has a weight capacity of 65 pounds per bike and a wheel mount. So if you have those fancy e-bikes with those steps through style design frames, this is a good option for you. So the way our bike is mounted to our bike rack here is by these two wheel straps and this supporting cradle back here, and a wheel mount. The way it works with our RAV4 is it does tilt the weight. more

If you are looking for a bike rack that has a lot of versatility, it's designed to accommodate children's bikes, and you can rotate the cradles to accommodate bikes of different shapes and sizes.So the way our bike is mounted here is by one, two, three mounting points. So we have two on the top tube and one down here, which is our anti-sway cradle. So if you want to dismount your bike, I like to start here at the bottom and just pull that rubber strap out of the way. more

Zack: Hey everybody, Zack here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Thule T2 pro XTB on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. This is going to be a two bike platform style bike rack. It's going to be a wheel mount design, so it works out great for carbon fiber bikes like we have here today. But it has a really high capacity at 60 pounds, so you can even get some of those electric bikes on there. One thing I would recommend with electric bikes, is take that battery off if possible, you'll save weight, but also you'll save some of the stress that gets put on those batteries as you're going down the road.Now I prefer wheel mount styles, but sometimes those wheel mount styles aren't practical if you have fenders on your bike, so you may want to look at something like a frame mount design. more

So a lot of bike racks, whether it's a two or a four bike, they're heavy, they're steel, they're kind of a hassle to move back and forth when you're taking it off your vehicle and need to store it in the garage. But this one's aluminum, it's really lightweight, but it also does a really good job of carrying our bikes. Now with it being a two bike hanging style rack, one thing I would recommend is not carrying carbon fiber bikes on a hanging style rack. more

So I'm just going to start off by saying this rack is extremely nice to look at, really sleek design and it's made of almost all aluminum.So it's going to be extremely lightweight, look really good and also be great for your carbon fiber bikes as well. I also just look at looks and style and also functionality of it as well, but this is really niche towards your road bikes or your mountain bikes and especially those carbon fiber frames or nice paint jobs that you may have in your frames. It's going to protect that because we have no frame contact, that's definitely a big plus for me. more
