So there's a lot of things that this bike rack has going for it, and the versatility for different types of bikes is awesome too. But it also has its downsides, like it doesn't tilt away. So if you do need to open up the hatch on your Forester, you are gonna have to remove your bike and lower that mast in order to lift that door up. more

Thule makes really good stuff. They do a lot of testing, a lot of engineering behind giving you a solid bike rack. My favorite part about this bike rack is the spacing, though, and how easy it is to use. A lot of hanging style racks, you're going to have an issue with how close your bikes sit together, and this one is going to allow you to space them out about 7" apart on those cradles. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Forester- Video

Now this is a platform style rack that mounts to the hitch receiver of your Forester. It's going to allow you to load up to three bikes and get them to and from your destination. One of the really cool features about this is that if you do have the option to remove this rear cradle, inaudible 00:00:27 rear tray right here, basically how your bike rack is going to come is that it's going to be a split rail LS, two bike rack with this foot rail, add on to make it into three bikes. So if you wanted to take this on off, a common example will be, if you want to carry an e-bike on here, well you will only be able to do thatIf you have this piece removed. more

And we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Hitching Post Pro four bike rack.Now this is a hanging style bike rack. It's going to mount to the hitch receiver of your Subaru and it's going to allow you to transport up to four bikes to and from your destination.It's going to hold each bike by your top tube and it's going to have three points where it secures. Two of those points are going to be on the top tube with these thick rubber straps securing it into the cradles. Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Forester- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're gonna be testing the Yakima Ridgeback two bike rack, and that's gonna be part number Y zero two four five seven. As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of these features.Now if we start here on the ends of our arms, we are gonna have two bottle openers that Yakima loves to put on their bike racks. If we look closer at these cradles, we're gonna see they are stationary, however they make up for having these nice rubber TPE padding. Now what that means is these notches right here are gonna act as shock absorbers for your bike frame while you're traveling.The bike's gonna be secured at three different points of contact. Were gonna have two zip strips securing the frame of our bike into these cradles. Then we're gonna have this anti-raddle cradle and, once we have a zip strip securing the frame into the cradle, that's gonna prevent too much raddling or swaying while we're driving, preventing our bike from making contact with the vehicle or with another bike we might have installed.I want to point out up here, if you look at your front wheel, we're gonna see it can kind of roam freely as it wills. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light 4 Bike Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, Part number INH640.As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of these features. Now starting first, we're gonna have this integrated cable lock system. It comes from the base of the bike rack and it inserts into that lock right there. When you want to remove the cable, you will get a set of keys with your bike rack, you would simply just slide up this tab right here, you have your insert for your key, you can unlock you cable, and unload your bikes.Our cradles right here are gonna be able to pivot left and right, like so, and also move up and down the bike rack to accommodate any size bike frame you might have or any spacing between the bikes you might want. That being said, our bike has three different points where it's secured to the bike rack. We have two of these straps on the top of our bike frame, securing it into the cradles. more

This can tilt away like most bike racks with both bikes still attached, and also, you can remove this back section here by removing the two bolts on either side. It does come with the tools to do this, and convert this to a one-bike rack as well.This can fit a wide variety of bikes, such as the Fat bike that you see here, and it comes with a strap extension to do so. This will also fit mountain bikes, road bikes, alternate frame bikes, and kids' bikes, and you don't have to worry about any bike adapter bars or the protection of your carbon frame bikes, because this grips it by the tire, therefore there's no frame contact at all.To tilt this away from the vehicle, there's a latch up at the front here. more

Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Subaru Forester- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the Rhino Rack 2 Bike Rack for two inch hitches, part number RRRBC045. We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look here.This does come with this strap included, and this is the stabilization strap for where you have even two bikes, you wrap it around the frames of the bikes into a tow point on the vehicle itself, and tighten it up, and that's going to help keep everything together while you're driving, and keep it from moving too far back and forth.Like most hanging style bike racks, the cradles here are adjustable back and forth, or side to side, and we have them pointed inward like you see here, and that's going to help out with loading and unloading our bike to the inside. At the ends of our arms, we do have reflective material, and that's going to help for better visibility at night, and how it actually grips the bike, it'll have three points of contact. It will have two straps on our top tube, and one off to the side, which is going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth. Now, as you see with the stabilization strap here, it's not going anywhere.Let's go ahead and remove the strap, and then we'll remove our bike. more

Rola Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Subaru Forester- Video

Today on our 2017 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the ROLA TX-1033 bike rack for inch and a quarter and 2 inch hitcher, part number 59403. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, I'd like to point out that it has an integrated cable lock here in the center of the mast. You would pull it out and wrap it around your bikes and attach it to this point here and then lock it into place for security. The cradles themselves are nice and padded so your bike will not get scratched when it's being installed and they're also adjustable along the length of the arms, so this is going to assist with loading your bikes. It grips your bike at 3 points. We have 2 straps up at the top here and 1 off to the side and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and possibly hitting the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. With the bike rack in this position, I'm going to go ahead and give you a couple quick measurements. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Subaru Forester- Video

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Rack, part number NV22G. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that we'll hold on to the bike rack as we do this, push in on this tab, let it come down gently, and now we have full access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need. To put it back in it's original position just lift up on the bike rack, never the bike, and you hear that click and it's locked into place. How this actually attaches to the rack, we're going to have two points of contact with no frame contact at all. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Subaru Forester- Video

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forrester we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How it actually grips to the bike, we're going to have one point of contact and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top. Now it's padded so you're bike won't get scratched and marred up one you install it. We also have there wheel cradles along the bottom here. These are adjustable by loosening them up and moving them up and down the arms, which will accommodate different size bikes and assist with loading. The bike rack itself has this nice raised shank to it, so if you have a hitch that sits particularly low you're not going to have any ground clearance issues between the bike and the ground. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Subaru Forester th9044- Video

Today, on our 2016 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Classic Platform Bike Rack, part number TH9044. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we have a pin here up at the front, right underneath where the bike sits. We'll pull that loose so it's able to come all the way down, and we'll go to this gray handle on the inside, holding on to the bike rack as we do this, pull out and push down. With that done, now we have full access to the rear hatch to get whatever we need, with plenty of space on either side to do so. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Subaru Forester th9034- Video

Today on our 2016 Subaru Forester, we're going to be test fitting the Thule TR Pro 2 bike rack, part number TH9034. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. Instead of having the handle up here underneath where the bikes sit, it's actually at the end, which makes it a little more convenient. What you do is you take the grey handle here, pull it towards you while holding on to the bike rack, let it come down, and now we have rear hatch access with plenty of space and clearance between the hatch and the handlebars as well. To put it back in its original position, just lift up, you hear that click and it's locked into place. How the bike is attached to the rack we're going to have points of contact, with no frame contact at all. more

Today on our 2014 Subaru Forester we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway 2-bike rack, part number TH912XTR. We already have a bike installed so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The cradles themselves are maneuverable so you can adjust it for whatever two bikes you want to put on there. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top here and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike in front of it and damaging them both. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Subaru Forester TH9029XT- Video

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester, we're doing a test fit Thule Vertex hanging style 4 bike rack. That part number TH9029XT. We already have our bike secured down, I'm first going to show you how we do that. We have two cradles in place with three straps, two on our frame, and one is right anti sway in the back. We're going to pull down and lift up to release those, and we can pull our bike off, and set it off to the side. Now we'll take a few measurements here, first is going to be overall what we're adding to our vehicle, we're to have about 34 1/2 inches. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Subaru Forester- Video

Today on the 2012 Subaru Forester, we are doing a test fit of the Swagman XC Platform Style 2-bike rack. That part number is S64650. We already have our bike secured down. First, we are going to show you how we do that. Then we are going to go over features of the rack. At the top, we have a frame hook that is going to hold our bike down and in place in those little cradles at the bottom. To release that, we squeeze in here, push on that lever, and lift that hook up. We are then able to, pull our bike off of the rack and set it off to the side. With that out of the way, I like to lower the frame hooks so they aren't setting very high. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Subaru Forester- Video

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester, we have our Thule Doubletrack Platform Style Bike Rack, part number TH990XT. See here that we have one strip on each wheel and we have those in-between the spokes. We'll undo those, we'll pull up on our silver lever here, we'll squeeze our release and pull the strap out of the way. Now because we have these smaller tires on here, we do have our spacer to be able to hold that in place. Come back here, same way on our back wheel. If you do have bigger wheels for mountain bikes, you can always pull this out of the way. more

Softride Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Subaru Forester- Video

Today on our 2015 Subaru Forester we're doing a test fit of the Softride Hydraulic Assist Dura tilting 4-bike rack, part number SR26321. This bike rack is designed to work with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. The main feature I want to show you first is the hydraulic assist. Now if we come to the back here there's a black handle. We're just going to pull out that pin. That will allow us to push our bike and our bike rack away from the vehicle. more
