Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here with trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on the back of our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The OnRamp is gonna be a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays and by our frame. We have this cradle with a strap run around the frame to hold it upright and then two straps on the bottom that pull the bike down and in at an angle and that results in a really strong hold overall. This bike rack is designed to be used with e-bikes, has an included ramp that stores right on the bike rack and a 66 pound weight capacity so it's gonna be good for some of those heavier e-bikes. With it making frame contact, you do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame but alternative frame should be just fine. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec on the back of our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The E-Spec is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these wheel cradles and by our frame using a frame hook up top. It's gonna get a pretty strong hold on the bike too and it has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike so it's gonna be good for some of our heavier e-bikes as well. With this making frame contact, you do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because this frame hook can damage that fragile frame. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here at the trailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination e-bike rack on the back of our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. This is gonna be an excellent e-bike rack that's capable of holding up to 70 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold our bike by the frame up here with this clamp that is totally lockable, so you can make sure your bike's secured. Because it makes frame contact though, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage the frame. But the clamp does move around, slide along the mast, pivot and rotate 360 degrees, so you can adapt it to alternative frames just fine. more

But it has a capacity of 60 pounds per bike, so it's going to be able to carry some of your e-bikes as well. If you're going to carry an e-bike, I highly recommend removing that battery and putting it in the car.It's going to save you some weight, but it will also take some stress off of your battery going down the road. more

A common problem with hanging style bike racks is they normally sit really close to each other and they start interfering with each other. So your handlebars are getting caught on your seats. This is going to be a hanging style rack that has a lot of upgraded features compared to other style hanging racks. The biggest one is a problem that you have with hanging style racks is this mass, and you're not going to be able to get your hatch open. So if you had your bikes loaded up and you forgot stuff in the hatch, you'd have to take them all off to lower it down but with this one, you come back to this handle right here, and you squeeze that button and you can lower your mass down with the bikes loaded. That's the big thing right there. more

Hey guys, Zach here at etrailer.com, today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima BackRoad, two bike hanging style bike rack on our 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. This is going to be a really nice option if you're looking for a hanging style bike rack, one thing with hanging styles, I wouldn't recommend putting carbon fiber bikes on here, but overall, this is going to do a good job getting your bikes wherever you need them to go. This one has a couple of nice upgraded features compared to some of the other hanging styles we offer, a one thing in particular, it has this integrated lock back here. It goes around the last bike, secures back into that post, and it's going to come with that key already in, or that lock in place. A lot of them you'll have to add it in, which is just one more thing you'll have to buy.So, the way this is secured, is it's held in place by three straps up top, so two on the top tube and one on our seat post here, and those straps are going to be really nice. We'll take this anti-sway cradle off, and what that anti-sway cradle does is it prevents that sway back and forth of those bikes. more

Hey, guys. Today we have a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder, and we're going to do a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack. Now this is a platform rack that mounts to your two inch by two inch hitch receiver. It's going to allow you haul up to four bikes to and from the trails or wherever else you want to take them.Now, it mounts on our bike in a couple of different points, we have three exactly. We have two straps, one on the back wheel right here and we're going to have one on the front wheel and both of these straps are going to have these nice, rubber pads that will help protect our bike wheel from any type of scratches or abrasions and instead of having a rubber-coated hook or anything putting downward force on top of our top tube, we have a cradle and strap securing our down tube right there, you can see, like that. I'll show you the example of this cradle on the other side, can rotate all the way around. more

Now this platform rack mounts to your two inch by two inch hitch receiver that you have in your Pathfinder. It's going allow you to be able to haul up to four bikes to and from the trails.Now one of the cool features about this bike rack is that while we have it in its four bike configuration right now, we can convert it down to a two bike rack just by removing this pin right here. Once we do that, we can pull off the two bike addition and it converts it down to a two bike rack. That's ideal for when you only have two bikes to take out. more

Starting from the outside and working our way in, we do have bottle openers on both ends of these arms, that Yakima likes to put on a lot of their products. These cradles are stationary. However, they do have this nice rubber TPE padding, meaning that these little notches right here, act as shock absorbers for your bike frame while you're traveling.We have three different points where our bike is secured. Speaker 1: Today, on our 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, we're doing a test-fit of the Yakima Holdup Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: Y02443.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the back and on our driver's side, we're going to have a red pin. What we're going to do is lift up slightly on our bike rack, and pull out on that pin. That's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle.With our bike rack in that position, we are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. What's great about this is that we don't have to worry about removing our bike rack or our bikes just to gain that access. Close that up, and to put our bike rack back in place, we'll simply lift up until it clicks.Now, how our bike is secured down, here at the back, we have our ratchet strap. more

Now, we're going to have two straps, one at the front cradle and one at the back. These are going to be cam-buckle straps, we'll just push on the tab on the outside and we'll pull the strap through. These are long enough that they can be used with fat tire bikes. Our cradles also accommodate fat tire bikes as well.Now, in the center, we're going to have a frame clamp. Today on our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2-bike platform rack. Now one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that it actually tilts away. There's a handle right here. We'll grab the latch and it will tilt away so that you can get full access into the hatch to get anything in or out that you may need. To lock it back in place, simply lift up on the bike rack and you'll hear it click lock back into place securely. Now there's two mounting points that hold your bike onto the bike rack. Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Today in our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider two-bike rack. As you can see, we already have our bike securely attached to the rack. You're going to have three mounting points, one hook going across the frame, and two wheel straps. To remove the bike, simply pull the straps off, slide the hooks out of the way, and then we can remove our bike. With our bike out of the way, let's take some quick measurements. Overall, you're going to be adding roughly about 24 1/4 inches to the total length of your vehicle. Now, the closest points to the vehicle is going to be right about four inches. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Today on our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima HoldUp 2-bike rack. As you can see, we already have our bike securely mounted. One of the really nice features of this bike rack is if you have your bike on there but you need to get access to the back hatch, simply pull on this red knob and the rack will tilt away, giving you access to get anything you may need in or out of the back hatch. To put the bike back into position, simply grasp the bike rack, lift it up, and it will lock into place. Now there's two mounting points. You have a hook up here and a wheel strap back here, so there's no frame contact, so you don't have to worry about any scratching or any abrasion on your bike. Now to remove the strap, simply lift up and pull the strap out. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder TH9044- Video

Today on our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to be taking a look at the Thule T2 Classic 2-bike platform rack. Now one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that if you ever need to get into the back, but you don't feel like taking your bike off, simply remove the pin, pull back on the lever, and the bike rack will tilt down. You can see we'll get access to get anything in or out of your hatch that you may need. To lock it back in position, simply lift up on the bike rack, it will lock back in place, and replace the pin. Now there's two mounting points on here. You have a hook up front and a strap on the back wheel, so there's no frame contact so you don't have to worry about scratching your bike. To remove the bike, simply push in on the tab, pull the strap out. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Today on our 2017 Nissan Pathfinder we're going to be doing a test fit of the Kuat NV 2.0 two bike platform rack. As you can see we already have our bike secured and one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that if you need to get anything in or out of the cargo area simply pull down on that knob and the bike rack will tilt away giving you full access to the back hatch. You don't have to remove the bike to get anything in or out. To lock the bike back into place simply lift up on the bike rack and it'll lock into place securely. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Nissan Pathfinder ETTHT2P-2- Video

Today on our 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, we'll be doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro Two Bike Platform Rack. One feature that I really like about this rack is that with this bike rack with your bike on it, you're able to tilt it away in order to gain access to your rear cargo area. As you can see, we're able to gain full access with this bike on here in order to get anything you may have such as groceries or luggage. To put it back into position, all you do is lift up on the handle and let it snap into place. With this bike rack, it makes no frame contact in order to hold the bike in place. It's got a rear wheel strap down here, then it's also get a front wheel hook in order to keep it tight into that wheel cradle. We're going to go ahead and get this bike off of here. You just squeeze on this gray tab and inside of the hook. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Today, in our 2016 Nissan Pathfinder, we are doing a test fit of the Kuat Transfer Platform Style 3 Bike Rack. That part number is TS03G. We already have our bike secured down. First, going to show you a few features. The first feature I want to show you is our tilting feature because you can do this with our bike attached. Just going to move that hook out of the way. We will lean, hit the button with our foot or the lever with our foot, and I will be able to tilt this away. We are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. We will close this up and then to put our bike rack back into place, we will simply lift up until it clicks. As for how our bike is secure, we have a ratchet strap here in the back. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Pathfinder- Video

Today on our 2016 Nissan Pathfinder, we are doing a test fit of the Swagman XC Platform Style 2-Bike, that part number is S64650. We already have our bike secured down, first going to show you how we do that. Holding our bike in place we have a single frame hook here that's going to hold our bike down into our wheel cradles. Be cautious because we don't have any wheel straps for our wheel cradles. I can tell you that a lot of customers have used this bike rack and that they are confident that your bike won't come out of those wheel cradles. We are just going to release that hook, and pull out bike off of our rack and set it off to the side. Then I also like to lower my frame hooks once I get my bike removed. Overall to our vehicle we are adding about 21", our ground clearance is going to be about 16 1/4" and our closest point is going to be on this rear shank, about 8". We do have the option to rotate our mast down, to do so we will remove our pin here in the center. more
