How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo bike carrier on our 2021 Nissan Murano. The StageTwo is a wheel mounted bike carrier, meaning that it's going to secure your bike to the carrier using a front hook and a rear cradle strap to lock it down, so you're not making any contact to your cross tube at the top. And so if you have a carbon fiber bike like this one or a unconventional frame bike, it's gonna be able to be flexible to work with both. Another thing to take notice of is the fact that the StageTwo does have a tilt feature. It's gonna allow you to pull your lever and access your cargo area. The tilt on here gives you plenty of space to open your rear hatch and actually use your space to change your shoes or get it ready for your ride. more

Hi Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about our Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack on our 2021 Nissan Murano. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you're looking for kinda like a mid-range bike rack that's gonna be able to accommodate really heavy e-bikes. It's gonna be able to handle at most 80 pounds per bike, holding up the two of them, and we're gonna have three points of contact and we're gonna have one strap on each tire that sits in these cradles, and we're gonna have this ratcheting hook that's padded and the center making contact with our frame. Since we are making contact with the frame, I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes on it or even some alternative frame bikes on it. So we're still gonna have our tilt away feature and to do that, it's gonna be a little bit of a process, but we're gonna actually have to remove this safety clip and pull this pin out, you might have to lift up on the rack just a little bit, then when I have to pull this other pin and let it fall back, and sometimes you might have to jostle that extra pin in the back, but sometimes it'll just fall past that and unlatch for you. more

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 here on our 2020 Nissan Murano. Now the Sherpa is great if you are looking at a way of getting those lightweight bikes to the trails with you in a nice, effective, stylish looking carrier. You'll notice today that we do have our carbon frame bikes up on here, and the reason for that is that the Sherpa doesn't actually have any frame contact. Utilizing a tire hold ratcheting arm system, we're not gonna have any kind of frame contact, allowing us to carry these carbon frame bikes, cause we won't be warping those frames. With that tire hold too, you're probably gonna negate a lot of the issues you might run into with other kind of frame style carriers whether they be platform or hanging style. more

Now hanging styles are a great way of getting a host of bikes to the trails with you. As you can see today, on a Road Runner we can fit up to four bikes on this carrier. Now, a lot of times with the hanging style though, what starts to end up happening as you get more and more bikes on here, you're gonna start seeing a lot more sway, and a lot more of your bikes making contact with each other. And that can end up, you know, starting to deteriorate a little bit of that frame, a little bit of that paint. more

Now, platform racks are gonna be a great way of getting your bikes to the trailhead with a lot of stability and a lot of cool little features that still allow us to usually get a lot of access to the back of our vehicle, and none other than the BackStage can do it better in my opinion, as you are getting a great little swing-away feature with this guy, not only, yes, can we tilt away from the back of our cargo, but we are gonna be able to swing this guy out and get full access to the back of our Murano, get into that spacious cargo hold and get anything we need, and can even turn it into a nice little hangout spot while we are actually out at the trails. The platform rack itself though, as you can see, is gonna be a nice little kind of low profile guy. Not gonna be anything too crazy going on. You'll notice all these little blue kind of measurements throughout or blue contact points throughout it, I should say. more

As you can see we are getting two holds on each end of our tires. That's gonna bring this all in line with this carrier. Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 platform-style bike rack on our 2015 Nissan Murano. So this is going to be able to get four bikes to and from your destinations, perfect fit for this car, just because you can fit four people in here pretty easily. So, if you have a carbon fiber frame bike, this probably isn't the best route to go, just because it is going to strap to your frame. I usually like to get wheel-hook type bike racks whenever I have a carbon frame bike, but any of the other bikes you may have it's going to work really, really well with it. Electric bikes, no, but it is going to be able to fit tires widths up to three inches, and we're going to have a weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike.What I like about it is how diverse it can be. more

It's going to hold your bikes at three different points. You're going to have two thick rubber straps on the top tube, securing them into the top cradles. I've already got it set up here just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it looks on our Murano.One thing that's unique about this bike rack is that it is also motor-home approved, and it's one of the only few that can actually tilt away. It's gonna be nice and solid to hold our bikes on the back of a motor-home with all that vibration that you normally have. One thing to note is that you cannot tilt it away with bikes loaded, so just keep that in mind.But it secures our bikes with three points of contact. We've got two straps for our top tube, and then one strap for our seat post tube. The one for our seat post tube is gonna help cut down on some of that sway during transport, prevent bike to bike contact, bike to bike rack contact, and bike to vehicle contact.Let's go ahead and take it off. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano TH9058- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Camber hanging style two bike rack. As you can see, we've already got it in place here, just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's going to look on a Murano.Now what's unique about this bike rack is it is also motor home approved so we can use it on the back of our motor home. It's going to stand up to those vibrations. It's very durable. It's going to work out just fine carrying our two bikes.Now it secures our bikes which three points of contact. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano TH9042PRO- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Helium Pro Hanging-Style Two-Bike Rack. I've already got it set up here and installed just so you can get a good look at it and see how it works with our Murano.Now what's unique about this bike rack is that it's also Motorhome approved, so it's gonna be durable and very stable when carrying two bikes on the back of a Motorhome. It secures our bikes with three points of contact. We've got two straps for our top two, you can see them right here and then we've got one for our seat post tube.The one for our seat post tube is gonna help cut down on some of that sway during transport, prevent some bike-to-bike contact, bike-to-bike rack contact and bike-to-vehicle contact. Another thing I'd like to mention is that a cable lock is included, it's stowed within the mast here, that way we can leave our bikes unattended. That's a nice feature there. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit on the RockyMounts WestSlope platform style two bike rack. As you can see I've already got it set up here just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's going to work with our Murano. Now what's nice about this bike rack is it secures our bikes without any frame contact. You can see how the hook here is going over our front tire, putting down pressure into the cradle and then in the rear, we have a strap going over that tire keeping everything in place. It's nice and stable, and this is the perfect bike rack for maybe a carbon fiber bike where we don't want any frame contact.Now with the bike in place, we can easily access our rear hatch by titling it away. Pull on the key pin here in the middle, and we'll lower it down. more

Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule Apex XT hanging-style four bike rack. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes.Now, right away, this bike rack does come with a nice feature. It includes a cable lock so we can secure our bikes and leave them unattended. That just stows right back into the mast here when it's not in use. Now, it secures our bikes with three straps. We've got two for the top tube and then one for the seatpost tube. more

Hollywood Racks RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2014 Nissan Murano- Video
Today on our 2014 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 for electric bikes. Now right away, this bike rack may look like a standard bike rack. It's not, it's actually built a lot more heavy-duty. We have welded-on gussets underneath the wheel cradles to support the extra weight of electric bikes. We can actually hold two electric bikes with up to 80 pounds per bike, so again very heavy-duty. It's going to support that extra weight.Now, Hollywood Racks does recommend that you do not travel with your battery installed. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Murano- Video

That part number is gonna be RKY10002.Now one of the really cool things about this bike rack is that, it has two different options to give you rear hatch access. It can either swing away from your vehicle or tilt back.I'll start with the swing away feature. To do that, we're gonna un-do this hand knob right here, all the way. Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Murano- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Four Timer four bike platform rack. That part number is Y02469.As you can see, we have a bike installed, so I'll take a closer look at some of these features. Now right away I want to point out a great feature about this bike rack is that while we have it in a four bike configuration right now, if you want to convert it to a two bike, you would remove this nut and bolt right there. Once you do that, you can take off the two bike addition and shorten it, which will help for those times where maybe you're only taking two bikes out for a day.Another great feature about this bike rack is that it can tilt away from your vehicle to give you rear hatch access. To do that, we're gonna come up and pull this gray pin on the other side. Let it hang there and then we're gonna pull the red pin right here, and let it tilt away from the vehicle. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Nissan Murano- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Nissan Murano, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Inno Aero Light Four-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part number INH640.We do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look at some of these features. We have this nice integrated cable lock system that comes out from the base of our bike rack, wraps around the frames of our bikes, and inserts into that lock right there. When you want to unlock the cable, you get your set of keys that comes with your bike rack and slide up this tab right there. You got the insert for your key to unlock your cable and unload your bikes.Our cradles are going to be able to pivot left and right and move up and down on our bike rack to accommodate different size bike frames you might have or the spacing you might want between your bikes.On the bike itself, we're going to have three different points where its secured. We have two straps on the top of our bike frame. Then down here we have a third strap that is securing the frame into the anti-rattle cradle. more

That's part number S64670.So, I've already got it loaded up on my Murano with my bike loaded up on the rake just to give you a good idea of what it looks like, and how it's going to hold our bikes. Now, this is one of eTrailer's most popular bike racks because of how simple and easy it is to use. You're going to be able to get your bikes from A to B without a hassle.But it secures our bikes with a frame hook. It puts a down pressure on our tube into the front and rear cradles, and we've got rubber straps further keeping our bike in place, but let's go ahead and take our bike off.We'll start by undoing the wheel straps, and then we'll raise up the frame hook. So, we'll raise the front one up out of the way first and then the rear one. more
