Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Mazda CX-5- Video

Today on our 2013 Mazda CX5, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 bike rack, part number S-64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact, and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top, so we don't have to worry about any scratching of the bike once it gets installed. We also have these adjustable wheel creels at the base here, you just loosen them up, and you can move them along the arms to accommodate different sized bikes, and to assist with loading. It also has this nice raised shank here, so the vehicles with hitches that sit low, it's not going to have any clearance issues between the bike rack, and the ground. I'm just going to take the bike off and set it aside. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Mazda CX-5- Video

Today, on our 2013 Mazda CX5, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom 2 bike rack, part number SA4412B. We already have a bike installed on the rack. We're going to have this strap here at the frame, and 2 wheel straps on either side in the wide cradles. The wheel cradles themselves are adjustable. more

Today on our 2013 Mazda CX-5 we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Hitch-mountedBike Carrier, part number TH9029. To mount our carrier to the vehicle, we'll insert theshank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our hitch pin hole,thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down using a wrench. Next we'll go over a handful of clearance measurements. We've got about 10-1/2" ofground clearance and about 2-1/2" of clearance between the closest part of the carrierand the closest part of the vehicle. Overall we've added about 12" of length to the rearof our vehicle with the carrier's arms folded down. more

Well let the automatic hitch pin close on our hitch pin hole and then well use the hand knob at the base of the bike rack to tighten the anti-rattle device.
