This is gonna be a pretty entry level hitch-mounted bike rack, and this is going to be a platform-style bike rack, which means the bike sits on top of the rack. That is my preferred way to carry a bike just because it's generally a little bit more accommodating. And the Destination, although it is a more entry-level option, is one of my personal favorites. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Kia Sportage- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, I'm Colin here at etrailer. Today we have a 2018 Kia Sportage, and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Rack. Now this is a hanging style bike rack that allows you to transport up to four bikes to and from your destination. It's going to grip your bike at three different points. We're going to have two really thick rubber straps securing the top tube, the rubber straps are going to make sure that it doesn't harm or scratch the finish of your bike. We come down to the third point of contact, it's going to be our anti-sway cradle with that same thick rubber strap securing it into the cradle, that's going to help prevent a lot of unnecessary movement. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Kia Sportage, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima RidgeBack Hanging Style 2 Bike Rack. That's part number Y02457.I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually holds our bikes with three straps, they're called ZipStrips. We've got two ZipStrips for our top tube and then one for our seat post tube.The one for our seat post tube is going to prevent sway in our bike, as well as bike to bike contact, bike to vehicle contact, and bike to bike rack contact. An interesting way how they work is they are a molded design. It's going to make them really easy to use compared to other straps. more

It's available in either an inch and a quarter, or two inch version depending on what receiver you have, and that's in either black or silver. There is a four bike version available, but it's only available for your two inch by two inch receiver.Now, I've already got it loaded up on my Sportage with the bike loaded up on the bike rack just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes. Right away, you'll notice that it holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We've got a wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle.Now, this bike rack is a premium bike rack. It includes an integrated cable lock, which then goes through our frame and locks back into itself so no one can remove our bike. more

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Pro bike rack, part number TH9034. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. Now the first and most important feature about this bike rack, is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. You just come up to the front here, and there's this gray handle that you push or pull towards yourself to release it. It's a lot nicer than some other racks, which will have the switches up towards the front, and make it a little more awkward to lower it. more

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Saris Bike Porter Tilting Four Bike Rack. That's part number SA404B. Now this is for 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. We can go and start by inserting our shank into our receiver. Look for our pin holes to be lined up and we'll take our anti rattle bolt and begin hand tightening that and we can take our wrench and tighten that the rest of the way down and by doing so it's going to remove any wobble or play down here at the base of the bike rack. Put our clip in and now we can take a couple of measurements. more

Today on our 2015 Kia Sportage we'll be test fitting the Swagman Titan Tilting 4 Bike Rack. That's part number S63410. This can be used for either inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. What we'll do is we'll go ahead and start by inserting the shank into our receiver, and we're looking for our pinholes to line up. We can begin hand tightening that down, take our anti-rattle bolt that is and tighten that the rest of the way down with our wrench. By tightening this down it's going to remove any excess wobble or play that the bike rack may have right here at the base. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Kia Sportage- Video
Today, on our 2013 Kia Sportage, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 bike rack, part number HR9200. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll line up the pinholes, thread our anti-rattle bolt though the pinholes and tighten it with a wrench. With our Traveler secured to our Sportage, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 10 1/2 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the bike rack. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the Sportage is about 9 inches away. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 13 1/2 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We can now loosen up the black hand knobs on the upper left- and right-hand side of the bike rack to lift out the cradle arms. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 37 inches to the overall length of our Sportage. To access the cargo area, we can pull the black pin at the base of the bike rack and tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2013 Kia Sportage well be test fitting the Kuat NV Aluminum Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, part number n101. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and install our pin and lock. Here at the rear of the shank well tighten the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now well go over a few clearance measurements. We have about 11 1/2 inches of ground clearance. Weve added about 12 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Today on our 2009 Kia Sportage well be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro Folding and Tilting Bike Carrier, part number TH934XTR. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply place the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance is 10-1/4 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 5-1/2 inches. Now we'll go ahead and pull the pin at the bottom of the bike rack mast to tilt the mast down where we can open our cargo door. more

Today on our 2009 Kia Sportage well be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9025. To begin our test fit we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, we'll make sure to pull the integrated locking hitch pin as it slides over the hitch itself. Once the hitch pin is lined up with the hole and the hitch the hitch then will lock into place. We can then tighten down our anti-rattle knob on the back of the bike rack securing it to the vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11-1/2 inches and from closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 2 inches. more
