Today on our 2015 Honda Fit, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This would be your hanging style 4 bike. This will be part number TH9029XT. As you can see, we've already got a bike on here, installed so you can see what it looks like once you have it on the vehicle. First thing we're going to do is come down to the bottom and get a few measurements, starting with our closest distance first, which in this case is going to be from the flange here to the backside of the bumper, at about 3-7/8 inches. Our overall distance with the cradle arms extended like they are, is going to be from the bumper to the rear at around 36 inches, with a rear ground clearance of about 8-3/4 inches. Now we're going to talk about the straps on top. The straps holding the top part of your bike are going to be your frame straps. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda Fit- Video

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Honda Fit

Today on our 2012 Honda Fit, we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex four bike carrier, part number TH9029. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. We'll line up the pin holes, thread our anti-rattle bolt through the pin holes, and tighten with a wrench. Now that our Thule Vertex is secured to our Honda Fit, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about ten inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of our Honda Fit is here at the rear bumper, about four inches away. We've added about eleven inches to the overall length of the vehicle. We'll now pull the gray lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out, and with the cradle arms out, we've added about thirty five inches to the overall length of the vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll pull the gray lever at the base of the carrier, to tilt the mast down. This will allow us to have access to our vehicle's cargo area. To load the bike, we'll make sure that the mast is in it's upright position. more
