Hey, it's Ethan here at E-trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FullTilt hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2022 Ford Edge. The FullTilt is going to be a hanging style bike rack capable of holding five bikes. In this case, up to 150 pounds total. So because it is a hanging style rack that's going to make primary contact and hold onto our bikes by the top tube here. So if you have a carbon frame bike, we would recommend against using this because it will make that frame contact. more

We're focusing specifically on the fit with this vehicle. Pros, cons, ups and downs. So first thing we're gonna point out is the fact that this bike rack is designed for e-bike usage. So it does have a airway capacity of 60 pounds per bike. It's going to hold onto our bikes primarily with this frame hook here on our center mast as well as one strap on the back one strap on the front so it gets a really nice hold. more

How's it going It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE pitched back rack and how it fits on our 2022 Ford Edge. The Sport Rider SE is popular because it has a lot going for it as far as capacity. It's able to support 80 pounds per bike. It's gonna be a platform style bike rack, so it's gonna hold the bike up primarily by the tray and these cradles here. Primary point of contact holding onto your bike is going to be these frame clamps here, frame hooked rather, on this center mast. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination Four-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Ford Edge. So the Destination Four is one of my favorite racks when it comes to carrying around a lot of bikes without taking a lot of space and without spending a lot of money because this is gonna be a quick and easy way to get bikes of different shapes and sizes and, from experience, I do know that it works really well with your smaller children's bikes as well. So if you want to upgrade from your hanging rack and you want more stability, I would highly recommend looking at the Destination Four. There are some downsides to this rack though and with the Ford Edge, we're gonna talk about that. The main downside is that you cannot tilt this rack away. more

That's gonna be an excellent way of transporting your more lightweight bikes on a nice stable platform style rack to wherever you need to go. Now, what I mean by that lightweight capacity So, we are only about 40 pounds capacity per bike on the Sherpa here, today. Which makes it excellent for, yes, transporting your carbon frame bikes as they are lightweight. And since we do have a nice little tire hold format here on our platform rack, becomes an excellent option for these guys, as you're not needing that high weight capacity. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Edge- Video
Hey everyone! Today we have a 2015 Ford Edge and we're going to test it with a Touhey Helium Pro Three-Bike Hanging Style Rack.Now this hanging rack's going to allow you to transport up to three bikes to and from the trails, or wherever else you're going to take them. It's got a pretty cool design in that it comes in at about 20 pounds, so it's going to be pretty light and very easy to handle so any time you're installing it into your hitch or taking it out, you're not going to have to put too much strain on your back or anything like that which is pretty nice because most, you know, three to four bike platform racks are going to get up there in weight. You know, 30, 40 pounds and that's just going to be a lot less weight you got to carry so, which is good for that.Now, the bike itself is going to be attached at three different points. We have two straps on top of the top tube, right there. The third point is going to be down here on the seat post tube. It's going to be securing, the strap is going to be securing it into the anti sway cradle and that just helps prevent a lot of unnecessary movement out of our bike while we're traveling.We're going to have an onboard cable lock that comes out from the base, it goes over top of your bikes and locks into this slot right there. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Edge TH9042PRO- Video
Hey everyone, today we have a 2015 Ford Edge and we're gonna do a test fit with the Thule Helium Pro 2 Bike Hanging Style Rack.Now this bike rack is gonna allow you to carry up to two bikes, to and from the trails or wherever else you want to take them.It's got a unique design to it in that it's made out of solid aluminum so it's gonna be very lightweight and easy to handle. It comes in at just under 20 pounds so you're not gonna have too much trouble installing it in your hitch and taking it off for whenever you don't need it. When compared to a lot of other platform style racks, the ones that get up there 30 to 40 pounds, that could be a bit of a hassle and a bit of a strain on your back to be constantly put in and out of your hitch. While Thule came up with this bike rack so you don't have that problem anymore.The bike itself is gonna be held in at three different points. We're gonna have a strap on the top part of this tube, right here. We're also gonna have the same thing on the other side so two straps on top. more

That part number is INH640.As you can see, we have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and how off some of these features. Now to start, we have an integrated cable lock system, which comes from the base of the bike rack, wraps around the frame of your bikes, and inserts into that column right there. When you want to unlock the cable, all you have to do is push up on this tab right here, you have the insert for your key, then you can unlock the cable.Our cradles have a nice hard rubber padding on them, which is gonna help protect the frame of your bike from any type of scratches or abrasions while you're traveling. The cradles also are adjustable, left and right, and up and down the bike rack to accommodate any type of spacing or size bikes you might have.Our bike is secured at three different points of contact. We have two straps on the top of our frame back there, securing them into the cradles. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Edge we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Beta 2 Bike Rack, part number B202-2. We're going to have a bike installed on the rack. Lets go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, we have the cradles. Now, they are fixed in these positions and they have these groves on the inside here, so your brake cables can actually fit into those groves and they won't get smashed up against the frame. It holds your bike in three points. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our on our 2015 Ford Edge we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Trailhead 4-bike hanging-style rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S63380. Now on this bike rack the bike is secured in three locations. We've got our two straps that are right there. Then we've got one more back here. The third location that we secure is down here on the downtube of the frame for sway control to make sure that the bike doesn't swing too much. Now we'll remove the bike and we'll set it off to the side. Now with the bike out of the way, let's take a couple measurements. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro platform style, bike rack. That part number is TH9034. Now, we already have our bike in place on our rack. We're first going to go over a feature that's really great about this rack. We can actually tilt this rack away from our vehicle with our bike still attached. Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Saris Bones Hitch Mounted 2 Bike Rack. That part number is SA882. Now, we already have our bike in place, but first I'm going to show you how we do that. We have 3 straps altogether, 2 on our frame here, and we have 1 as our anti-sway strap from the back. With those released, we can pull out our bike off the rack, and set it off to the side, and then I suggest you replace your strap so you don't lose or damage them. Now we'll take a few measurements. more

Today in this 2010 Ford Edge, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9029XT. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look at it and show off some of the features. Now, first to have the bike attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with he bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top here, and off to the side here which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from either hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and just set it aside. Now, when you remove straps, it's always good practice to put them back into place, primarily because you don't want to loose them while you're driving, and you don't want them flapping around when you're driving, either. With that done, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. The first is going to be how much distance is added to the vehicle once the bike rack is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure form the bumper since that's the furthest point out. From this arm down it's about 37 inches. And our ground clearance ... more
