Hi everyone, it's Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack on our 2015 Dodge Journey. It's gonna be a pretty solid bike rack, and a good way of getting two bikes on the back of your vehicle. Right away I wanna talk about how this is a frame mounted bike rack so you're gonna want to avoid carbon frames. And you may have some issues with alternative frame bikes because of the way it attaches. With those alternative frames you can fix that problem with an bike adapter bar, which will just go across here and give an attachment point for this hook. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Dodge Journey, we're doing a test-fit of the Thule Double Track Pro Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: TH9054.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you how we secure it in place. At the back and front tire, we're going to have cam-buckle straps. We'll just push on the cam on the side closest to our vehicle and pull those through. You'll notice we do have extra long straps, these are going to be great for fat tire bikes as wells as mountain bikes and road bikes, like we have here.Now, in the center, we're going to have a clamp. This is going to be different from any of those frame hooks or wheel hooks that you see. This is going to grab around the frame of our bike. more

Today on our 2010 Dodge Journey, we're going to be test fitting a Yakima HoldUp 2 bike rack. Now, one of the really nice features of this bike rack is that it does tilt away and gives you access to the hatch without having to remove the bike. Pull out on this knob, and it tilts down. You'll still have plenty of room to get anything in or out of the hatch. Now, to show you how it goes back up, you just lift up on the bike rack until it locks into place. Now, you have two mounting points where it secures the bike to the bike rack. You have a wheel strap back here. more

Thule Hitching-Post-Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2010 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2010 Dodge Journey we're going to be test fitting a Thule Hitching Post Pro for a bike rack. We already have our bike secured to the bike rack and it has three mounting points. One on the vertical post to keep from swaying, and two on the top on the frame. These straps are coated in rubber so you don't have to worry about any scratching or abrasion on your bike. Which undo the straps, and the bike will come right off. Now let's take a quick few measurements and see what kind of dimensions this is going to be adding to our vehicle. more

Today on our 2010 Dodge Journey we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 2-bike platform rack. Now one of the really nice features about this bike rack is that you can actually tilt it away, without having to take the bike off, and still gain access to the back hatch. You have plenty of room to get anything in or out you need. To put it back into position, you just lift up and it will lock in place. Now to remove the bike you have a wheel strap right here. Just push the button, pull the strap out. Up front, have this bar. more

I'll show you one nice feature of this is that it does tilt away so you're going to have access to everything in the back. You just pull that pin out, pull this lever, and it will tilt down. You still have plenty of room to access everything in the back hatch. Now, just to put it back into position, you just lift back up until it locks in place. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey we'll be test fitting the Kuat NV platform style aluminum two bike rack, part number N101. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After lining up the pin holes, we'll insert the pin into the pin holes and then we'll secure with the lock on the other side. We then can turn the black knob at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secure, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 1/2 inches away, and we've added about 16 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We can now lift up on the orange lever at the base of the bike rack and tilt the platform down. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Journey- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex Hitch-Mounted 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9025. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. After allowing the integrated hitch pin to fall into place, we'll then turn the black knob to engage the anti-rattle device. With the bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 13 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is about 4 inches away, and we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our Dodge Journey. We'll now go ahead and lift up on the gray lever at the top of the mast, which will allow us to swing the cradle arms out. With the cradle arms out, we've added about 36 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. To access the cargo area, we'll lift up on the gray lever at the base of the bike rack, which will allow us to tilt the mast of the rack down. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Journey well be test fitting the Kuat NV, part number N101. To begin our test fit well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install the hitch pin. We can then move to the back of the shank where well tighten the knob securing our bike rack tot eh vehicle. With our bike rack secured well go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack is 12 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is seven inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door. more

We'll line up the hitch pin holes, feed our anti-rattle bolt in and tighten it down with a 3 quarter inch wrench. From the furthest point of our bumper to the bike rack upright measures 8 inches of rear clearance. From the rear of the vehicle to the farthest point of the bike carrier, we've added about 25 inches of overall length. And our ground clearance measures 11 inches from the bottom of the carrier to the ground. more

Today on our 2012 Dodge Journey, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Sherpa 2 bike carrier, Part # S102. To mount our bike carrier, we'll fit it into the hitch and line up the hitch pin hole. We'll use the hand knob at the end of the shank to tighten the anti-rattle device. Once weve done that, we can throw our hitch pin in place and secure it with a lock. There's about 2 1/2 inches of clearance from the farthest part of the bumper to the closet part of the bike rack. And that adds about 15 inches of overall length to our vehicle and it has ground clearance from the bottom of the shank to ground of about 12 inches. more

Today on our 2011 Dodge Journey, well be test fitting the Rhodegear Highway 2 Bike Carrier, part number RG8015220. With our vehicle already equipped with the 2-inch hitch and our bike rack already pre-assembled, were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well begin by sliding the shank into the hitch lining up the hitch pinhole and inserting our anti-rattle bolt. Once we get our anti-rattle bolt snug, well go ahead and tighten it down using our wrench. And with our anti-rattle bolt tight, well go ahead and put in our safety pin. And with our bike rack now secured to the vehicle, well go ahead and give you couple of measurements. more
