Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Jeep Renegade- Video
Today on our 2016 Jeep Renegade we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg-Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is CC-100. Now this is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Even though it does have that high weight capacity, it is still going to be on our lighter weight end of our cargo carriers, so it's going to be easy to move around, put in and out of your hitch if you need to. The first thing we're going to start off with are our measurements. We're going to do our ground clearance first. We're going to have about 6-1/2" to the bottom of this bolt here. more

Now even though it does have that high weight capacity, it is made of aluminum it is made of aluminum so it is very lightweight. It's easy to put in and take out of your hitch, so you won't have to worry about lifting up anything very heavy. The first thing we're going to start with are our measurements. While we have it on our vehicle, we're going to start off with a few measurements, ground clearance being first. We're going to have about 9 and 1/4 inches down there. Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 26 and 1/2 inches. Our pull-o-sis 00:00:38 point is going to be about 6 and 1/2 inches away there. Keep in mind that all these measurements may vary, depending on what style hitch you have. The next measurement that we'll do is our hatch. We're going to check that breakover point. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're test fitting the Maxx-Tow 21 by 48 aluminum cargo carrier. This has been designed for use in 2" hitches. Part number on it is MT70422. You see our carrier's going to fit nicely on the back of the Jeep. This particular Jeep has tired size 255/75R17. As you can see, we're going to have good room, be able to open that tire right up over top of the carrier, fully open it with no problems. more

It is capable of carrying up to 500 lbs and they have designed for use with two inch hitches. The part number on it is MT70106. You can see our carrier is a nice, heavy duty steel construction. This should take care of all of our transportation needs, as long as it fits within that 30 by 50 area. You can see the really nice large expanded steel floor, gives a lot of good traction both here on the platform and it is going to continue right down on through the ramp. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we've got the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 Cargo Carrier out and we're test fitting it. This cargo carrier can support up to 500-lbs and it's been designed for use in 2" hitches. The part number on it is CC-100. This carrier's going to offer a pretty large size expanded steel floor. Rocks, chunks of mud, things like that, should fall right down and through without building up on our carrier. See we've also got a raised edge that goes around the outside, it's going to be about 2-3/4" high. It's going to give us great areas here to secure our gear once we've got it loaded up, and also some license plate relocation holes, that way if we have our license plate blocked, we can move that back and stay legal. Looks like the carrier gives us about 9-1/2" worth of ground clearance there on the backside. more

The part number is MT70422. This is a very sturdy yet light-weight cargo carrier, really easy to handle. If weight is an issue, I would definitely recommend this carrier. It's really easy to get in there, and another great thing about it, it doesn't take up a whole lot of room. In the stored configuration if you will, or if you just had this up against your wall, only looking at about 5 and 1/4 inches in total width there so it's not going to stick out from the wall very far. more

Now the Curt carrier has kind of a medium to small size expanded steel floor so it's going to give you great support for smaller items but also allows for that dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall down and through. You have that nice raised rail, goes all the way around the outside. It's about 5 and 1/2 inches tall, gives us good front to back and side to side support for our gear when it's loaded up and also provide for some attachment points so we can get everything strapped down nicely. It looks like it's going to haul 00:00:51 for us about 13 and 3/4's of an inch worth of ground clearance. more

Today, on our 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're test fitting the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier will carry up to 500 pounds and it's been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is C18151. You'll see the raised rail all the way around the outside, gives us good front-to-back and side-to-side stability for our gear once loaded up. It's going to be about 5 1/2 inches high. You'll see here, it gives us a lot of nice connection points all the way around there so we can get that gear strapped down securely. The floor of the carrier is going to be a smaller size expanded steel and it'll have areas for moisture, dirt and stuff like that to fall down and through, but it's not so large of an opening that we'll have to worry about smaller stuff. The back side of our carrier, we're going to have about 15 3/4 of an inch worth of ground clearance. more

Today, on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the MaxxTow 30x50 Wheelchair and Scooter Carrier, which has the 48 inch ramp, the part number on it is MT70106. This has a 500 pound capacity, and it's been designed for use in two inch hitches. You see our ramp, good angle on it, it's a nice, sturdy ramp. We're also going to have that large, expanded steel, so even if we've got some dirt and grit on the tires, whether we're hauling our lawnmower, power scooters, wheelchairs, whatever the case may be, any dirt or debris is going to fall right down and out. Also going to have the raised edge all the way around the outside. It's going to be about five inches high, going to to give us good stability, front and back and side to side. Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're taking a look rather, at the MaxxTow 30 x 50 Wheelchair Ramp. This ramp's been designed to carry up to 500 pounds, also for use with 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is MT70260. You can see here we've got our bi-fold ramp. This is a 60 inch ramp, it's going to come down to the side for us. This is going to allow us to load up wheelchairs, small lawn mowers, power scooters, a number of different things. We've got two small pin and clips. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today, in our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the 23 by 47 carpod world cargo carrier here. We're going to test for it and see how it fits up against the rear of the Jeep. Now clearly, this is a stand out cargo carrier from a lot that we see out there. We've got this nice raised walls all the way around. Those are going to give us about 21 and 3 quarters of an inch worth of height. You can imagine we can stuck this thing full. We'll have great stability. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Strongbird Carlson 23x60 Cargo Carrier. We're doing a test fit on it just to see how it fits up against the rear of the car. This cargo carrier is designed for use with up to 500 pounds and also on 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is CC-100. I really like this carrier for couple reasons. I like the really large expanded steel on the floor. A lot of dirt and debris is and stuff like that is something I deal with, so that's going to pass down through there without any issue, even some of the bigger rocks. The raised rail is nice. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we've got out the Let's Go Aero GearCage. We're going to test fit it and see how it stakes up behind the rear of the vehicle here. This is a 32x48 cargo carrier. It's been designed for use in 2 inch hitches and it offers a capacity of 300 pounds. Part number on it is HCR222. One of the things you're going to notice really stands out about the carrier is going to be that solid floor. That allows for even smaller items to be transported without any danger of it falling down through. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today, on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier here. We're going to do a test fit on it, and see what kind of room we've got between it and the back of the vehicle. Now, this carrier, it'll carry up to 500 pounds, and it's been designed for use on two-inch hitches. Part number on it is C18151. This particular carrier has that medium size expanded steel cargo floor, that platform floor. That allows dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall through, but it's still going to give us plenty of area to rest our items and our goods on. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee C18150- Video
Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we've got out the Curt 20 by 60 cargo carrier and we're test fitting it. Now this cargo carrier is designed to carry up to 500 pounds and for use with 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is C18150. Now the carrier is going to have the kind of you'd consider kind of the medium size expanded steel, it's going to give us good surface area for items to rest on but any moisture, dirt, and debris should fall right down and out of there. We'll also going to have a raised edge that goes all the way around the outside and it's about 5 1/2 inches tall and once our gear is in there, it's going to keep it from moving around too much front to back or side to side. It also gives us some good connection points around here for our straps and we've got a few reflectors back here on each side just to help with visibility. Now the Curt has a rise in the shank that lends to really good ground clearance here in the back. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier, part number CC-100. It has a 500 pound weight capacity. Now the first thing we're going to do is take a few sets of measurements. The first is going to be our ground clearance. Down here to this bottom bolt we've got about 16-3/4". Overall to the back of the Jeep we're adding about 29-1/2" here. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today our 2014 Jeep Wrangler we're doing a test fit of the Max Tow 48x21 Cargo carrier. Part number MT70422. Designed to work with 2 inch hitches and have a capacity to hold up to 500 lbs. So the first thing we will do is take a few measurements here. Ground clearance is going to be first. We've got about 18 1/2 inches of clearance. Overall from the back of the Jeep we are adding about 29 1/2 inches there. And our closest point is about 7 inches away. Our spare tire here does hang over just a bit, it's about 3 1/2 inches away or so but with this carrier we can open that back hatch and get anything in or out that we may need just be aware that you won't be able to do that if you have a lot of materials stacked up onto your carrier. Also on our Wrangler we do have a single passenger side exhaust. It comes just about straight out at that carrier there with about 11 1/2 inches between the two so just be careful if you plan on carrying any heat sensitive materials in this region that you might run into a little bit of a problem. This carrier comes with a hitch pin and clip although it does come with it it still allows for a lot of movement and shake. You can purchase an anti-rattle device to slide in there so you won't have as much movement. That's going to complete our look at the Max Tow 48x21 Cargo carrier, part number MT70422 on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Let's see how it does on the test course.
