Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer.com. And today we are looking at our, Kuat Transfer V2, single bike rack here on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. Now this is a great bike rack if you're looking for something that is compact and has a weight capacity for your heavy electric bikes and has all the nice premium features that makes the entire process easy to mount and dismount your bikes. Now, one of its features is that it can tilt away. And to do so, just hold on to the bike rack and step on that lever that allows the bike rack to tilt back so that you can open your rear door on your RAV4. As you can see, there's plenty of space between the door and the bike so that you can get in there, put stuff away in your trunk, grab your backpacks or your water, all without taking your bikes off. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the CURT Premium Four-Bike Carrier on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. Now, right away as you can see, this is a hanging-style bike rack and what's nice about this, we have a dual-arm support system, that's always great 'cause we're gonna get a lot less play with our bikes going left and right across our frame compared to some of those single-arm models. Then if we look here, this nice tapered end is gonna be great for us if we have any kiddos' bikes we want to fit on here. A lot of times, those kid bikes, you have to buy a bike adapter bar that's gonna actually allow you to use this three point system, but this being so tapered in, gonna allow us to get our kids bikes on there, make it really easy without any extra adapters. When we take a look here too, these nice reflectors on the end are really nice especially like we have here, when we only have one bike, sometimes it's hard for people that are actually traveling behind us to see our bike rack especially with it being black, so these are gonna be quite nice especially at night, just to alert the other drivers where our bike rack is. And taking a look at the cradles here, we have a nice rubber stripping system here, all these simply do, hook under, our bike gets put in place, we hook around, and we just simply go around that knob. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4 s64650- Video
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman XC2 bike rack on our 2017 Toyota RAV4 Right away as you can see, this is a platform style rack. However, we do have a frame mounted contact point. So keep in mind this isn't gonna be good for any kind of carbon frame bikes. This frame mount is going to deteriorate those carbon frames and also at a 35 pound capacity, we need to make sure that we are not over exceeding that weight limit. So especially in those e-bikes, you know, some of those bigger bikes, keep in mind definitely be measuring your weight. Those e-bikes, take it off those batteries, might get you under, but definitely be careful with it. more

Now, one of its features is that it can tilt away, and to do so there's a lever right over here you need to pull, and then it just glides down like that. And you'll want it in that position so that you can access your hatch. So you can see how there's space between our door and our bike, allowing to get into our trunk, maybe put stuff away, grab our bike helmets or our bags without having to take our bike off, which is pretty nice. Now, to lift it back into position you just lift it back into position like that and it snaps into place. more

Swagman RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com, and today we are looking at the Swagman XC2 bike platform style rack here on our 2020 Toyota Rav4. So this is a great option if you want a platform style rack with all the essential features and you don't want to have to pay extra for those extra bells and whistles that you may not need. The way our bike is mounted to this rack here is by these wheel loops at the bottom and a frame mount. So if you look at the wheel loops, they can accommodate bike tire width of 3 1/2 inches, and you can loosen this and move it back and forth to accommodate bikes that are longer or shorter wheel bases.This has a frame mount up here, so if you want to dismount your bike. What I like to do is actually take off the frame mounts completely, just so that I don't have to lift the bike over the mast. So with this frame mount off, I can then just lower it by releasing this pin at the bottom right there. more

So this bike rack is designed for your heavy e-bikes. It has a weight capacity of 65 pounds per bike and a wheel mount. So if you have those fancy e-bikes with those steps through style design frames, this is a good option for you. So the way our bike is mounted to our bike rack here is by these two wheel straps and this supporting cradle back here, and a wheel mount. The way it works with our RAV4 is it does tilt the weight. more

If you are looking for a bike rack that has a lot of versatility, it's designed to accommodate children's bikes, and you can rotate the cradles to accommodate bikes of different shapes and sizes.So the way our bike is mounted here is by one, two, three mounting points. So we have two on the top tube and one down here, which is our anti-sway cradle. So if you want to dismount your bike, I like to start here at the bottom and just pull that rubber strap out of the way. more

Zack: Hey everybody, Zack here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Thule T2 pro XTB on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. This is going to be a two bike platform style bike rack. It's going to be a wheel mount design, so it works out great for carbon fiber bikes like we have here today. But it has a really high capacity at 60 pounds, so you can even get some of those electric bikes on there. One thing I would recommend with electric bikes, is take that battery off if possible, you'll save weight, but also you'll save some of the stress that gets put on those batteries as you're going down the road.Now I prefer wheel mount styles, but sometimes those wheel mount styles aren't practical if you have fenders on your bike, so you may want to look at something like a frame mount design. more

So a lot of bike racks, whether it's a two or a four bike, they're heavy, they're steel, they're kind of a hassle to move back and forth when you're taking it off your vehicle and need to store it in the garage. But this one's aluminum, it's really lightweight, but it also does a really good job of carrying our bikes. Now with it being a two bike hanging style rack, one thing I would recommend is not carrying carbon fiber bikes on a hanging style rack. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today we have our 2019 Toyota RAV4 and we're test fitting the Kuat Transfer Two bike platform rack. This is designed for one and a quarter inch and two inch trailer hitch receivers and it's a great way to get up to two bikes our favorite destination. Benefit of having a hitch mount rack like this is that we don't have to try to load our bikes up on top of our vehicle or fit it into the rear hatch area. This vehicle has a smaller rear hatch and so we would have to lower some of the seats in the second row to fit a bike this size in it. So this is a great way to still utilize our entire rear hatch and still get our bikes to where we're going.This bike rack has a 45 pound per bike weight capacity. more

This is designed for two inch by two inch trailer hitch receivers, and it's a great way to transport our bikes without loading them on top of our vehicle, or trying to fit them into the rear hatch area. This vehicle does sit up a little bit higher than maybe like a Sedan. And so loading your bike or unloading your bike can be a little bit tricky. We've been shooting some videos and loading them on the roof. more

Today we have our 2019 Toyota RAV4, and when you're test fitting the Hollywood Racks TRS Platform by Crack, this is designed for two inch by two inch trailer hitch receivers. And we use this to get our bikes to our favorite destination, without loading up on top of our vehicle or trying to fit it into the trunk area.The trunk here is a decent size, but in order to fit a bike like this into the back, we would have to fold the seats down. So maybe if we are at full capacity with how many people we're traveling with, we can load it here. Plus it is a little difficult to load bikes on top of a vehicle. Sometimes we've been testing racks on this and I was having a little bit of trouble getting it up and down. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Four Timer Four Bike Platform Rack, part number: YO2469. This is designed to work with two-inch hitches only, and while it is four bike, like you see here, by removing this bolt up towards the front you actually can convert it from a four bike to a two bike.Like most platform-style racks, this will tilt away from the vehicle with all bikes still attached so you can gain rear-hatch access. To do that, we'll pull the gray pin on the side and then lifting up a little bit on the hitch, or on the bike rack itself, we'll pinch this button in, pull out and let it tilt towards us. Now, unfortunately with the Toyota RAV4, it is going to make contact with our handlebars here; but you still have some room to get some of the accessories that you may need.To put it back up, you simply lift up on the bike rack until you hear that click. Then you place in that gray pin again, lifting up slightly on the bike rack. How the bike is held into place, we're going to have three points of contact. more

Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Unlike its previous model, this can and is already ready to take fat bikes, as you can see here, and can also carry e-bikes up to 50 pounds. It does have a weight capacity of 50 pounds per bike, and does have a place at the end here where you can add an extension, to make this a four bike rack as well.Like most platform style bike rakes, this can tilt away from the vehicle, to have full hatch access. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 classic, part number TH9044. I've already got it loaded up on my RAV4 with my electric bike just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes. The nice thing about this bike rack is it has a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, so it's gonna work out great for our electric bikes that come in around that range. One of my favorite features is that it has the ability to tilt away with bikes loaded so we can gain access to our rear hatch. And we can do that by pulling out the safety pin first, then pulling our lever towards us, and then we're just gonna lower it down until it rests. You can see we're able to get into our rear hatch no problem to remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. more

The nice thing about this bike rack is that we're going to be able to carry electric bikes, no problem, because of its weight capacity, comes in around 60 pounds per bike, so if your electric bikes come in around that, you're going to be all set.One of my favorite features about this bike rack is that it can be tilted away with bikes loaded, so we can gain access to our rear hatch. We'll pull up the handle here at the rear, lower it down. As you can see, we're going to clear the pedals and the handlebars to remove anything we may have in the back, gear, cargo, groceries, whatever you've got. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota RAV4- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be a test fit on a Saris SuperClamp EX Platform Style 2 Bike rack. That's part number SA4025F. Now, I've already got it loaded up on the Rav4 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like, and I've actually got one of my electric bikes on it today. It's one of the nice things about this bike rack is it has a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike so it will work out great for your electric bikes that come in around that range. Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Hold Up 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02443. This is for 2" hitches only, can carry up to two bikes, and one of the most prominent features about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bikes still attached. To do that, holding onto the bike as you do this, you come to the front to this red handle. You pull it out like so, let it tilt forward. Now unfortunately due to how close the bike rack is to the vehicle you will make contact with the handle bars, although you have some space to get what you need with it open this much. To put it back in its original position we'll just lift up again on our bike rack, you hear that click and it's locked back into place. How the bike actually is gripped into the bike rack, we're going to have two points of contact. more

Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, you want to hold onto the bike rack before you release it. Come up to this lever up at the front, pull it towards you. This is a nice lever to have at this point here because a lot of the other bike racks will have it underneath the arm. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XT 2-bike rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact, and that's going to be this padded frame hook up at the top. Now the hook is padded so when you install your bike it won't get scratched up. We also have these adjustable wheel trays at the bottom here. more

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be test-fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 bike rack, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can swing away from the vehicle so you can gain rear hatch access with the bike still on the rack, which is pretty unique for a hanging style bike rack. To do that, we'll come to the back here and loosen up this knob, like so. Coming up to the front we'll pull up on the tab here, which will release it, then pull it out to about this position here and swing it around until you hear that 'click' and push it the rest of the way. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2016 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Platform Style 2-Bike Rack. That' part number HR200. I've already got it loaded up on our Rav4, with our bike loaded up as well; Just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to secure our bikes. It actually holds our bikes in 3 spots. We have this frame hook going over our top tube, putting down pressure into our front and rear cradles. Then we have the straps going over our wheels holding that in place. All in all, not a bad way to hold our bikes when we're getting our bikes from A to B. Let's go ahead and take our bike off though. more

Today on our 2016 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Classic Platform Style 2-Bike Rack. That's part number TH9044. I've already got it loaded up on the Rav4, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like, and how it's going to hold our 2 bikes. One of the main features, real quick, before I get into the rest of the stuff is that it has the ability to tilt away from the Rav4, with bikes loaded. What you want to do, if you come down here, go ahead and pull out that safety pin. Then we'll come back here. I'm going to reach through and pull that lever towards me and then drop it down. By doing that, we can remove any cargo, gear, groceries, anything we might have with us on our trip. more
