Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today we're going to take a look at the Thule Camber on our 2016 Toyota Highlander.So this is going to be a hanging style bike rack that can hold up to four bikes with three tie down points per bike. You're going to have two up top here, and one anti-sway cradle on the bottom. And what that's going to do, it's going to limit that bike-to-bike contact that you get when you're going down the road.So let me just go ahead and show you how easy it is to get your bike off this rack. It has a zip tie style strap, so you got to press in this little pressure pin, and as you can tell, there is a rubberized coating underneath here, so that's going to protect the top of your frame of your bike. And also, there is a rubber insert in the actual part of the strap itself, and with these little ridges, and what that's going to do, it's going to make room for your bike cables, so they're not smashing up against your frame when you're headed down the road. more

Hey everyone, today we've got a 2017 Toyota Highlander, and we're going to do a test with the Thule Camber two-bike hanging style rack. Most hanging style racks can allow you to carry two bikes to and from your destination.It's going to grip your bike at three different points. We're going to have two straps on the top tube right here, securing it into the cradles. We're also going to have a anti-sway cradle with the strap through it, securing at the seat post tube. That anti-sway cradle, once you get it tightened down like that, it's really going to take away a lot of the unnecessary movement from your bike, even when you're traveling at high speeds. Just helps prevent a lot of bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-vehicle contact.Now, this bike rack is going to be a little more base model. more

Today, in our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Platform Style 4-bike rack. That's part number HR1400Z.I've already got it loaded up on the Highlander just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually holds our bikes by their top tube. The rubber coated hook puts down pressure on that top tube, into the cradles and then a hook and loop strap keeps our wheels in place. When it's all said and done, it's a nice tight fit. I'm actually shaking the entire vehicle there and there's not a whole lot of movement. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota Highlander INH540- Video
Today on our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Inno vertical hang hanging style rack, which is part number INH540.Now this four bike rack has a unique style of holding your bikes. Rather than the traditional hanging style where you have two arms that are parallel to the ground and kind of horizontal. You're going to have two arms that are vertical and hold your bike at more of an angle than they used to. The advantage to this is that you're only going to need to have two straps to secure your bike. One of them is going to act as both a strap for half of your bike and an anti-rattle bolt or anti-rattle cradle I should say. Excuse me. more

One of the really cool features about this bike rack is that right now we have it in a four bike configuration. However, if you just remove this nut and bolt, you can take off a two bike part of it, and minimize it to a two bike rack. That's going to cut down on the space added onto the back of your vehicle. And then just less to haul around if you only have two bikes.Like most platform racks, this one can tilt away from your vehicle while it's fully loaded. Rola Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander 59308-4- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be taking a look at the Rola Convoy Full Bike Platform Rack, and that's gonna be part number 59308-4. We do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features of this rack. Now this bike rack has a nice modular design to it. Now what that means, is that with the additional tools that we're gonna get with the bike rack, we can remove each layer as we so choose. So right now, we have it set up for four bikes, but if you only want to carry three bikes for the day, with ease you can't take off the fourth layer, take off that much weight from the back of your vehicle. You can move it to two, or even a one bike rack.If we look at these cradles, we're gonna see that the back of the front wheel cradle can pivot like so, and that's gonna help accommodate to a lot of different sized wheels you might have when hauling around bikes.If we look inside the frame, we're gonna see it can accommodate a lot of different sized tires as well. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light Four Bike Rack for inch-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, and that's going to be part number INH640. As you can see, we do have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and see some of the features.If we start from the outside and work our way in, we're going to see this integrated cable lock system that's going to come out from the base of our rack all the way out. You can wrap it around whatever bikes you might have installed. Then, it inserts into this little spot right here, just like that. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack, so when you want to unlock the cable you simply just slide this little tab up right here, and then you have the insert for your key, unlock your cable, and then you can unload your bikes.If we look at the cradles, we're going to see that they can pivot back and forth, and they can move up and down the rack like so. That's going to help out for any size bike you might have or the spacing you want between your bikes. more

This is a great bike rack for you just wanting to hit the trail one afternoon and come right back. This works with multiple vehicles because it works with inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, so if you have either two vehicles or a class two on this, it'll work with that as well. It's a very basic bike rack. It doesn't tilt away or have any special real big features to it. It does have the patented Yakima bottle opener here on the end, as do most of the racks, and it's gonna grip your bike in two points. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Glide EX 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number a SA774.We already have a bike installed on our rack here, and let's take a closer look, and one of the key features about this bike rack and what makes it unique is its ability to go away from the rear of the vehicle with all four bikes still attached to gain rear hatch access. This is pretty rare when it comes to a hanging style bike rack because, most of the time, you'd have to get either a swing out to keep all four bikes on while you're getting into your rear hatch, but this makes it super easy.You come to the inside here to this trigger, push it, and push out. Try not to get your microphone caught on it. And now we have full rear hatch access to get what we need, and there's going to be plenty of space on either side to do so, if your hatch opens up all the way. And hopefully it's faster than that, too. To put it back in its original position, just simply reverse that, and pull towards you, and push it back in. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp EVO 2 Bike Platform Rack for 2" Hitches, part number Y02479. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.Like most platform racks, this can tilt away with both bikes still attached, and while we have a road bike installed on it now, this can fit fat bikes already, as well as e-bikes, mountain bikes, kid's bikes and alternate frame bikes as well. The tilt feature is slightly different on this where we have this handle up at the front instead of having a pin to remove or a pushpin to pull out. We'll hold onto the bike rack, pull the lever towards us, and that'll let it come forward. Now we have full hatch access to get what we need, and there is going to be plenty of space between our handlebar and the hatch itself.To put it back into its original position, it's very easy. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander we're doing a test fit of the Thule Apex Swing Hanging Style 4 Bike Rack. That part number is TH9027. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack, and that's going to be our swinging feature. We're going to start by taking out our T-pin here at the back, and just letting that hang down for now. We'll loosen up our knob, we want that so that it's completely loose and hanging down. That's not going to come out. more

We're first going to show you how we secure it in place. We've got three straps altogether, two over our frame and one as our anti-sway strap in the back. This is going to help to prevent our bike from swinging back and forth and possibly making contact with the other bikes. more

We're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the back, and we're going to remove our pin. We're going to pull down on the lever, and that's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle, with our bikes fully loaded. In this position, we do gain full access into our back hatch. You'll see we're not going to have to worry about our handlebars making contact. more

Thule Hitching-Post-Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota Highlander- Video
2015 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule hitching post-pro for a bike rack, part number TH934XTR. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How this bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have 3 points of contact. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here, and 1 off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and possibly colliding with each other. The cradles themselves are padded and have these grooves on the inside, so you're cables and everything sit inside there and your bike will not get scratched once it is put into place. They are adjustable on the lengths of the arms, to make loading a little bit easier. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2008 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2008 Toyota Highlander we'll be doing a test fit on the Yakima HoldUp platform-style 2-bike rack. That's part number Y02443. I've already got it loaded up on the Highlander just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our two bikes. It actually holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We've got this wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. Then we have a ratchet strap going over our rear wheel keeping that in place. more

Today on our 2008 Toyota Highlander we'll be doing a test fit on the KUAT NV 2.0 platform style two bike rack. That's part number NV22G. I've already got it loaded up on the Highlander. Just to get a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our two bikes. It holds our bikes in two spots. We have this wheel hook going over our front wheel. Putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle here. more
