Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Ram 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 RAM 1500 we're doing a test fit of the Swagman Chinook Platform Style Two Bike Rack, that part number is S64683.Now we already have our bikes secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. Wanna gonna come back in-between our two bikes and we're going to have a black lever down there. If we pull up on that lever we can actually tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. With that tilted away we do gain partial access into our truck bed through our tailgate. You will need somebody to hold the tailgate because it would make contact with our wheel cradles down here. We can close that up and put our bike rack back into place we'll simply lift up until it clicks.Now how our bike is secured down at the front and rear tires we're going to have cam buckle straps. more

Today on our 2017 RAM 2500 we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider 2 Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That part number is HR1000. Now we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the middle and remove our pins and clips. You may have to move the bike rack around just a little bit to get that to come loose, but with those removed we can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. Unfortunately we're not going to be able to open our tailgate all the way, it would make contact with our pedal, but if you can move your pedal out of the way you will be able to gain that access. more

Today on our 2017 RAM 2500 we're doing a test fit of the Soft Ride Element Parallelogram hanging style, four bike rack. That part number is SR26248. Now we already have our bike secured down. First we're going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come to the side here and we have a T-pin, we're going to pull that out and we're going to be able to tilt our bike rack, with our bikes fully loaded, away from our vehicle. Now this is a great feature of this hanging style bike rack, because not many others can actually do this, with the bikes still attached. So, unfortunately, we're not going to gain full access into our truck bed because we would make contact here on our bike rack with our tailgate. But if you want to have somebody hold this and gently set it down on your bike rack, you can gain some access back there. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 2500, we're doing a test-fit of the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack. That part number is: HR200. Now we all ready have our bike secured down. We are going to show you how we secure it first. We have two cradles in place with hook and loop straps at the front and back tire, those are quick and easy to remove and it's just a little bit of extra security to make sure that our bike stays in place. In the center here we have a frame hook, this is going to hold our bike down into our wheel cradles. We're just going to remove this top one first, then we'll squeeze the two pinch points 00:00:45 together, then pull that up, and then we would just pull it straight down to tighten it. We'll take our bike off, we can set this off to the side, and we'll take a few measurements. First is going to be overall what we our adding to our vehicle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2009 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 series quad cab we'll be doing a test fit for the Touly T2 Pro platform style full bike rack. That's part number TH9034-9036. Now I've already got the bike rack and the bike loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like and how it's going to secure our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in two spots. We have this rear-wheel strap going over our rear wheel keeping that in place, then for our front wheel we have a large wheel hook going over the front wheel putting down pressure into the wheel cradle here. All in all no frame contact with this bike rack. One of the best features is we can tilt it away with all four bikes loaded to gain better access to the rear of our truck. We'll come back here to this easy use handle. more

Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack, Part Number TH9029XT. As you can see, we already have a bike on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a look at how we actually attach it to it. There's going to be three points of contact with your bike's frame. There's going to be two straps up top here and one strap out to the side here which is going to act as an anti-sway strap, keeping it from moving back and forth, possibly hitting the bike racks or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it off to the side. Now once you've removed the straps, it's always a good habit to actually put the straps back into place. You don't want them flapping around while you're driving and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. All right, now with it like this, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you get a better idea of how far this actually sticks out from your vehicle once the bike rack is installed. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500- Video
Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 Bike Platform Style Bike Rack, part number S64650. As you can see, we have the bike already installed, go ahead and go over how it attaches to the vehicle. In this case there is only going to be one point of contact, and that's going to be the frame hook up here. To loosen that up there's this button off to the side, you push that in, and it'll lift the frame hook. When you're doing this, you always want to keep one hand on the bike, so it doesn't fall forward and hit the vehicle. To put it into place, it'll ratchet into place. Let's go ahead and lift the bike up and out of the way. I'm going to go ahead and given you a couple of measurements here. more

Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack number S63380. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack let's go ahead and take a closer look. Now how this bike is actually attached to the rack you're going to have three points of contact, excuse me, four points of contact to the bike's frame. We're going to have three straps up top here plus one off to the side which is going to be kind of an anti-sway strap from keeping it going back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack or even the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it off to the side. With the straps taken off we're going to go ahead and put them back on which is kind of a good practice to get into because you don't want the straps to be kind of flapping around while you're driving and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. Now with that done I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman Trailhead 4-bike rack. It's going to come with an 1-1/4" shank with a 2" sleeve, and it's going to be part number S63380. Let's go ahead and take our shank and insert that into our receiver that we have here today. Once you got it inserted go ahead and line up your pinholes so we can insert our anti-rattle bolt. Once you've gotten that anti-rattle bolt threaded in as far as you can, go ahead and tighten that down with a 3/4" socket. This anti-rattle bolt will help to eliminate a lot of the sway, rattle, or wobble that you may have remaining in your hitch as you can see there. more

Saris Bike Porter Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today, on our 2015, Ram 1500, we're going to be going over a test fit of this SARIS Bike Porter, 4-bike carrier. This is going to have an inch and a quarter shank, with a 2 inch sleeve on it, and your part number is going to be, SA404B. Insert your shank into our receiver. With the shank in our 2 inch receiver, let's line up our pin-holes and take our anti-rattle bolt and insert it. Once you have your anti-rattle bolt inserted, screw that in. Since we've got it tightened down as far as we can by hand, let's take our 3/4 inch ratchet and tighten it down the rest of the way. This will help eliminate a lot of the rattle, sway, or wobble we may have left in our hitch, as you can see there. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Yakima FullTilt 4 Bike Carrier, this has got an inch and quarter shank, with a 2 inch sleeve on it. Its part number's going to be, Y02462. Let's go ahead and do the test fit. Go ahead and take your shank and insert it into your receiver. Make sure that this gray piece is down so you have an easy job inserting it. It also has an auto-locking pin so that won't come out. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we're going to be doing the test fit of the Thule Vertex 5-bike rack. It's got a 2" shank on it for 2" hitches only and the part number is going to be TH9030XT. Let's go ahead and take the shank and insert that into our hitch. Once you get it inserted let's go ahead and line up our pinholes. Once you have those pinholes lined up, go ahead and thread in the bolt. Once you have that threaded in as far as you can get it with your hand, go ahead and use a 3/4" socket to tighten it the rest of the way. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 Series Crew Cab, we'll be test fitting the Saris Freedom Platform Style Tilting 4 Bike Rack, that's part number SA4414B. This is for 2 inch hitches, we've got a 2 inch receiver here today. We can go ahead and begin by inserting our shank into our receiver. Next thing I'm going to do is we'll line up our pin holes. Once that is lined up we'll take our included anti rattle bolt and thread that through and we'll take our socket wrench and tighten that the rest of the way down. Nice thing about this anti rattle bolt it is going to help reduce the play and rattle within our hitch and our bike rack. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 series Crew Cab, we will be test fitting the Saris Freedom Super Clamp platform style 2 bike rack. That's part number SA4025. This can be used for either 1 and 3/4 or 2 inch hitches. We have got a 2 inch hitch here today. We can go ahead and begin by inserting our shank into our receiver.Line up our pin holes. When we get those lined up, we will take our included anti-rattle bolt and lockand thread that through. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks traveler 5-bike carrier. This is going to come with your 2" shank for your 2" hitches only. This is going to be part number HR9200. Let's go ahead and take our shank and insert that into the receiver. Once you've lined up your pin holes, you'll go ahead and take your anti-rattle bolt and thread that in as far as you can. Once you're unable to get it any further by hand, go and use a 3/4" socket to put it the rest of the way in. This anti-rattle bolt will help to eliminate a lot of the sway, rattle, and/or wobble that you may still have in your hitch. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500 hr8500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 100 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-bike carrier. It's got a 1-1/4" shank with a 2" sleeve. Part number is going to be HR8500. Let's go ahead and take this shank and insert it into our receiver. Once you've got it inserted, let's go ahead and line up our pin holes. With our pin holes lined up, go ahead and insert your anti-rattle bolt, and thread that in as far as you can by hand. Now tightening this anti-rattle bolt will help to reduce a lot of your sway, rattle, or wobble that you may still have left in your hitch. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we are going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow N Go, this is a tilting bike rack part number is HR135. But for our test fit today, we are using an extra long shank hidden hitch ball mount part number is 80232. It is sold separately. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our ball mount right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we want to take a look at the hole in the ball mount and the hole in our hitch to get the two lined up. We then going to take a standard pin and we'll slide it through the opening on the receiver tube of our hitch making sure that it also goes through the hole in our ball mount. We'll then secure it just using a standard clip. Now when installed using the standard pin and clip, it does allow for some play and some movement in the rack. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2011 Ram 1500 model were going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack designed for use in inch and a quarter or two inch hitches, part number TH934XTR.To begin our test fit were going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well want to keep an eye through the pinhole here to see when we have that hole lined up with it. With our hole lined up well take our anti-rattle bolt, place it in and thread it through. Well then use our wrench to tighten that down. You can see that secures it nicely.Well now get a set of measurements here to see what kind of clearance were working with. more

Softride Hang5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2013 Ram 1500 Crew Cab we will be test riding the Softride Hang Five tilting 5-bike rack for 2 inch hitches, part number SR26496. For our test fit today we will be installing the bike rack in two pieces. We'll grab the first half of our rack, slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with our wrench. With the first half of our rack installed, we have about 19 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 6 1/4 inches. Overall, we have added about 16 1/4 inches to the length of our Ram. We'll grab the second part of our rack sliding the black square tubes into the openings. more
