Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Kia Sorento- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp HD on our 2020 Kia Sorento. The SuperClamp is a platform style rack that holds the bike by the tires. Each one has its own wheel hook and it's gonna hold it really stably in addition to the wheel straps on the bottom at secondary points of contact. This bike rack doesn't make any sort of frame contact so it's gonna be good for carbon frame bikes and alternative frame. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Rocky Mounts GuideRail platform style bike rack on our 2020 Kia Sorento. Now this bike rack's gonna hold the bike in these trays and by the tires. Each tire has its own hoop that's gonna hold it still and that's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. And at the 60-pound weight capacity it's gonna be good for some e-bikes too. The GuideRail is a personal favorite of mine just because I like the way it works and I think it's really well built. more

The MonoRail is a platform style bike rack that can hold up the two bikes, and it's gonna hold them by the tire. We've got that front wheel hook there holding it upright and in place with a back wheel strap on as a secondary point of contact. It doesn't make any frame contact, so it's gonna be good for carbon frame bikes and alternative frame, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some e-bikes too. With this rack, you do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Now this is gonna be a platform style rack that holds the bike in these trays and by our frame up top. Frame contact is gonna mean we wanna avoid our carbon frames but these clamps do rotate 360 degrees and can adapt to those alternative frames. In addition to this, there's a 70 pound capacity per bike so it's gonna be good for some of those heavier e-bikes too. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Curt Premium on our 2020 Kia Sorento. The Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack. It can hold up to four bikes and it's gonna hold the bike by the frame up here. It's got two straps over the top holding it down in the cradles, along with a third on the seat post to limit that side to side movement. That's gonna help with bike to bike contact and although it doesn't completely eliminate the movement, it certainly does help. more

Now Hitching Post Pro is a hanging style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes, each up to 35 pounds. Because it is a hanging style rack, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that will damage the frame, having it hang by the frame. And with alternative frame bikes and kids' bikes, we do probably want to pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure that it fits and hangs properly from the rack. Now the Sherpa is a platform style bike rack capable of holding up to two bikes each up to 40 pounds. You do have some color options with it. We've got the gray one here today, but you can also get it in black or pearl, so you can kind of color match it to your vehicle if that's your fancy but they're all gonna function the exact same way. It is a wheel mount style bike rack meaning primarily it's holding the bike by the front tire here, meaning zero frame contact, making it good for our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. more

Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes. You can get a five bike version, and that'll have a slightly higher weight capacity of 225 as opposed to 180 pounds total. And it'll stick out a bit further, but overall they're gonna function the same. Because it's a hanging style bike rack, it's gonna hold the bike hanging by the frame here. That does mean we want to avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here at etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail here on our 2021 Kia Telluride. Now, this is a really nice bike rack. I like this style where we are in a tray like this holding the bike by the tires on either side. It's gonna make it really nice for our carbon frame bikes so we don't have to worry about any sort of frame damage, our alternative frame bikes and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, even good for some of our e-bikes with the batteries removed. This one especially is going to hold it really well and like many other platform racks in this style, you have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Now, the Kuat Sherpa is the more budget-friendly of the Kuat lineup. It is lighter and more affordable than, let's say, the Kuat NV. I would prefer the Sherpa if I just had, you know, a normal bicycle, nothing too heavy, not an e-bike, but just your regular mountain bike or trail bike because of all of the nice features it has at half the weight. more

Now, the Kuat transfers one of my favorite bike racks because of how easy it is to mount and dismount your bikes with this goal post design, it has most of the premium features you would expect from a Kuat bike rack, but it is at a more affordable price compared to let's say the Sherpa or the NV. One of the features it has is I can tilt the weight. And what I actually like to do is just put the arms aside, that way I can step all the way towards the inside and step on this lever. more

So, this is gonna be a very decent way of going ahead and loading up your four bikes, and getting it to the trails for you. Now, I will say this bike rack tends itself more to a family-style entrust. Why is that Well, as you guys can see, we have a nice little tapered arm end here. So, this is your traditional two pole design to go ahead and hold onto your two back bikes of course, giving you really good stability so your bike isn't oscillating back and forth. And we actually do have some nice anti-sway cradles on here as well. more

So this is the three bike rack version that will be available for two and an inch and a quarter inch hitches. But we do have a four bike rack version that will be available only in a two-inch hitch. So if you have a two inch hitch and you have a couple extra buddies, you plan on riding with, you can go ahead and go with the four bike rack version as well.But this one's the three, and they're both going to have two tie-down points per bike. You're going to have two here up top, and they're going to be just a simple hook and loop strap, very simple to get this off, do it on both. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Kia Sorento- Video
Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today, we are taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Traveler Bike Rack on our 2018 Kia Sorento. So this is the four bike version and is going to be able to work with the two inch hitch receiver, but we do have a three, two and a five bike rack version available as well. But if you want one that's going to be able to fit on two inch and an inch and a quarter, we do have that option for the four, as you see here, and also the three. This one in particular is going to hold four and it's going to have three tie-down points per bike.We are going to have an anti-sway cradle, which is going to limit that bike to bike contact that you get when you're going down the road. more

So this is going to be able to get four bikes to and from your destination with ease and we're going to have three tie-down points per bike. We're going to have two here up top and an anti-sway cradle at the bottom and what that's going to do, it's going to limit that bike to bike contact that you get when you're going down the road. It is pretty easy to get this bike off the rack so let's just go ahead and do that. You just got to pull these rubber straps out and they are nice and durable but soft as well so you don't have to worry about scratching the frame of your bike when it's nice and strapped down. more
