Today on our 2016 Acura MDX, we'll be doing a test for the Swagman XC platform style 2 bike rack. That's part number S64650. I've already got it loaded up on the MDX just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to work. It secures our bikes in one spot. That's going to be this frame hook on top. It puts down pressure into the 2 cradles, the front and rear, keeping our bike in place. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Video: Etrailer.com (logo)Today on our 2016 Acura MDX we'll be doing a test for the Kuat NV platform style tilting 4 bike rack. That's part of our N105-107. I've already got it loaded up on the the Acura MDX just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. It secures our bike in 2 spots. We have this wheel hook up front here putting down pressure into our front wheel cradle and then we have over your wheel strap securing our rear wheel. All in all there's no frame contact, one of the great features about the bike rack. It also has the ability to tilt away from our rear hatch with the bike loaded. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Acura MDX TH956- Video
Today on our 2016 Acura MDX. We're doing a test fit of the Tuly Parkway 4 hanging style 4 bike rack. That part number is TH956. Now we already have our bike secured down, first we are going to go over how we do that and then we will go over some features of the rack. We have two cradles in place, with two straps on our frame. This also comes with a strap that you can use to secure your bike a little better or you can purchase some anti sway straps as well. We are going to lift up on those straps and pull our bike straight off and set it off to the side. Then we will reconnect our straps here and we can take a few measurements. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2011 Acura MDX, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, how this is attached, you're going to have 3 points of contact with your bikes frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top here and 1 off to the side here which is going to actually as an anti-sway strap to keep it from going back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Acura MDX ETTHT2P-2- Video
Today on this 2011 Acura MDX we're going to be test-fitting the Thule T2 Pro 2 Bike Rack. Part number TH9034. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the tilting feature which means you can tilt the bike rack away from the vehicle with the bikes still installed. You go to the handle at the front here, you pull in like so, and gently let it down. Then we have access to our rear hatch without having to remove the bikes. With plenty of space on both sides to get whatever we need. more

Today on our 2012 Acura MDX we will be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex 4 bike rack, part number TH9029XT. You see that we already have the bike on the bike rack and on our vehicle. Lets show you a few features, the way the bike is hold up, we have three straps, we have two on the top and one on the side. Now how will we do this We will go backwards, taking the top off first and anti sway strap on the side, sorry about that. Now when you are loading it up you would do the opposite way. You want to always remember to replace your straps so they don't get damaged or lost, so lets do that. All right now I like to take a few measurements. The first measurement I like to take will be from the bumper closer to our bike racks and I'm looking at approximately 4 inches over all, I'm looking at approximately 38 inches. more

Today on our 2012 Acura MDX we'll be doing a test fit of the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. It is equipped for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. We already have the bike on the racks and onto our vehicle. Let's show you a few features. How the bike is mounted on, we have the three straps, two on top and a strap to the side, which is the anti-sway strap. How we do it is pull off the top ones first, and then on to the side strap. When you're loading the bike, you just do it in the reverse way. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, we're doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom SuperClamp Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, part number SA4025. Now, as you can see, we already have our bike on our rack, but first, I'm going to show you how it is strapped down. We got two wheel hooks. One in the back and one in the front. Those just ratchet down using just a little bit of force and it'll slowly move down. Also in the back here, we've got a strap holding in that tire. more

Today on our 2014 Acura MDX we are doing a test fit of the Curt Premium hanging style 4 bike rack, part number C18064. Now we do already have our bike loaded up. We are first going to show you how you strap it down. We have got two cradles holding it in and then three straps, two on the frame and then one as your anti sway strap in the back that is going to keep a lot of the shake and play out of the bike as you're heading down the road. Today on our 2015 Acura TLX, we're going to be doing a test of the Saris bike porter. This is a folding and tilting four-bike rack. They designed it so we can use it with an inch-and-a-quarter hitch like we've got here today, our class one, or up to the two-inch hitches that you find with like your class three or class four. This is part number SA4404B. Nice adaptable rack. Now, because we are using in a class one hitch, we're going to limit this to just a two-bike capacity, but it's nice that it's adaptable. more

Today on our 2015 Acura TLX we're doing a test fit on the Saris Freedom Superclamp. This is a platform-style 2-bike rack. They've designed it so we can use it with an 1-1/4" or with 2" hitches. The part number on it is SA4025B. Now the Superclamp is a very nice, secure back rack even for a platform-style, one of the tighter feeling ones that's out there. It holds the bike with a front wheel hook and a rear wheel hook. more

Today on our 2015 Acura TLX we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Trailhead. This is our folding and tilting 4-bike rack. It's been designed for use with the 1-1/4" hitch, what we're using it in today, which is a class one, or with the 2" hitches. Now one limitation with the class one hitch: we're going to keep the capacity down to two bikes. We don't want to overstress that class one, but the nice thing about it being adaptable is that we can then go right into our large SUV with a 2" hitch and not have any issues. One pretty distinguishing factor: we're going to have four straps. We've got three frame straps and then one anti-sway cradle strap here at the back to help keep that bike moving forward and back. more

Today on our 2015 Acura TLX, we're doing a test fit on the Thule Vertex. This is a folding and tilting 4 bike rack. It's been designed for use with an 1 1/4 or 2 inch. The part number on it is TH9029XT. Now this is a class 1 hitch on our Acura, we are going to limit the capacity of this just down to two bikes class 2 or 3, you can go ride on out to 4. Makes it a good versatile rack that we can use it on our class 1 hitch and then still be able to switch it over to the larger vehicle and get full capacity out of it. Recent improvement has been lock that's designed to come from the mast of the rack around the frames of our bike and they connect in here at the rear using the Thule one key lock system. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2013 Acura RDX we'll be test fitting the Thule Double Track platform style 2 bike carrier part number TH990XT. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, line up our pin holes, thread our anti rattle bolt though the threaded pinholes and tighten with the wrench. Now let's go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There is about 11 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 1 inch. With the bike carrier folded up we've added about 9 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2011 Acura MDX we're going to be test fitting the platform-style 4-bike rack from Sport Rack. Its part number is SR2902. Now to begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Now as we do this we want to keep an eye through the pinhole there in the side of the receiver tube to determine when the hole in our rack is lined up with it. Today on our 2011 Acura MBX, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a folding 4 bike rack, designed for use in 1 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in, we want to be sure that we get the pin hole that's in the rack, or the threaded hole in the rack, lined up with the pin hole in our hitch tube. With those lined up, we're now going to take our anti-rattle bolt, we're going to thread that in, and we'll tighten it down using our wrench. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Acura is going to be here. Looks like about 6 3/4 of an inch away. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Acura MDX- Video
Today on our 2014 Acura MDX, well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveller Tow n Go 3-Bike Rack, part number HR135. For todays test fit, we will be using the hidden hitch ball mount with an extra long shank, part number 80232, this ball mount is not included. Well begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch and securing it with the standard 5/8 hitch pin and clip, which is also not included. Youll notice that there is a lot of wobble within the hitch, but this wobble can be eliminated by purchasing an anti-rattle device. To load up a bike, well remove the black pin at the top of the mast and swing out our cradle arms. With the cradle arms out, were ready to load up a bike. Well undo the cradle straps, place our bike into the frame cradles, and then secure it with the straps. more

Today on our 2013 Acura ILX, we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, we've already gone ahead and removed the 2-inch adapter from our bike rack, so we'll slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 6 inches. We'll now go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the bike rack mast to allow the mast to tilt down where we can the open our trunk. more

Today on our 2013 Acura ILX well be test fitting the Kuat Sherpa Aluminum Hitch Mounted 2 Bike Rack part number S102. To begin our test fit well remove the two-inch adapter from the bike rack shank. We can then slide the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install our hitch pin. Well then move to the back of the shank where well tighten the knob down securing the bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Alright, today, on a 2012 Acura MDX, were going to do a test of the part number TH9029, the Vertex bicycle rack. Two things to know about this bike rack, that it will work with inch and a quarter receiver hitches, both class one and class two, however when you use this with a class one receiver hitch, you are limited to carrying just two bicycles. It will also work with two inch receiver hitches which include a spacer, thats what we will be working with today. To start our test of it, well go ahead and put the bicycle rack into the hitch. Then well install the anti-rattle bolt. And then well go ahead and get a few clearance measurements. more

Today, on this 2012 Acura MDX, we're going to do a test fit of part number TH9025 from Thule, the Apex Bicycle Carrier. A few things to know about this bicycle rack, that it can work with inch-and-a-quarter receiver hitches, both Class I and Class II. However, when you use this with a Class I receiver hitch, you're limited to carrying just two bicycles. This will also work with two-inch receiver hitch with the included spacer, and that's what will be working with today. We'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch. We'll make sure that the integrated hitch pin snaps into the hitch pin hole on the hitch. more

SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura MDX- Video
Today on this 2012 Acura MDX, we're going to do a test fit of part number a30901 from SportRack. We'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch. Then, we'll install the anti-rattle bolt and put the safety pin on the other side. Then, we'll go ahead and unfold the bike rack and get some clearance measurements. From bike rack to the bumper, its closest point will be 9 1/2 inches. Ground clearance will be about 19 1/2 inches at the back, and overall length from the bumper will be about 26 inches. more

Pro Series Q-Slot Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura MDX- Video
Today, on this 2012 Acura MDX, were going to do test fit of part number PS63134, the Pro-Series Q-slot Bicycle Carrier. A few things to know about this bike rack is that it will work with 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches, both class 1 and class 2. This will also work with 2-inch receiver hitches with the included spacer. Well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then were going to install the hitch pin and clip. Next, well go ahead and unfold the bike rack and get a few clearance measurements. Clearance from the bumper to the bike rack would be about 9 inches. more

Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today, on our 2012 Acura RDX, well be test fitting part number SR26247. The Softride dura parallelogram tilting 4 Bike Rack for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches. Now, to begin our test fit, well simply slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. We can then install our lock, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11 inches, and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 1-1/4 inches. more

Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura RDX, we'll be test fitting part number Y02422, the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Bike Carrier for 2-inch hitches. Now, to begin our test fit, we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt, and this will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 2-1/2 inches. We can now go ahead and pull the switch at the top of the bike rack mast. This will allow us to bring out the dual arms where we'll undo the straps exposing the cradles. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Acura RDX- Video
Today on our 2012 Acura RDX well be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9029. Now to begin our test fit well simply slide our bike rack shank into the hitch using the included adaptor for the 2-inch hitches, we can then line up our hitch pin hole and install tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Now our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We can now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11-1/2 inches and from the closet point of our bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 7-1/2 inches. At this point we can go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the mast to tilt the mast down. more

Today on our 2012 Acura RDX, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number TH9025. Now, to begin our test fit, we've already installed the included adapter for the 2-inch hitch so we'll begin by sliding the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll make sure that the integrated hitch pin is pulled where we'll slide it completely into the hitch and allow the pin to close into the hitch pin hole. We can then tighten down the anti-rattle knob here at the back of the shank, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Now, well give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack mast to the back of the vehicle is 8 inches. more

Today on our 2012 Acura RDX, we'll be test fitting the SportRack Evader 3 Bike Carrier for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number A30403XT. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Now, we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11 inches. From the closest point of the mast to the back of the vehicle is 5 inches. more
