Today in this 2016 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HalfBack 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02636. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack we're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have two zip strips up at the top here, and then one off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack where the bike's in front of it. Let's go and take it off and set it aside. To do that there's two tabs on either side of the zip strip, you just push them in at the same time and lift them up and out. Go ahead and put them back in place for now. more

We're going to have two rubber straps up at the top, and one off to the side here, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack itself or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take that off and set it aside. With the bike rack in this position, I'm going to go ahead and give you a quick measurement. From the bumper to this outer edge we've added about twenty-two inches to the rear of the vehicle. Now in close quarters situations such as parking or when you're putting this in your garage, you can fold these arms down. If you look in here there is actually silver tabs, there's going to be one on each side. more

Number one, if you want to secure your bikes, we have a cable lock that you can go around, wrap over your bikes, and put back here in the keeper. It'll secure your bikes. Today on our 2015 Ford Focus, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Passage 2 trunk mount bike rack. That part number is TH910XT. We already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. We have two cradles in place with three straps altogether, two on our frame and one as our anti-sway strap in the back. We're going to have 2 ZipStrip up at the top here, plus 1 off to the side which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Today on this 2008 Lexus ES350, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Raceway Pro Two Bike Rack, Part #TH9001PRO. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack, you're going to have 3 points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up at the top here, then one off at the side here, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep your bike from moving too far back and forth, hitting either the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Now, also, there's an integrated cable lock up at the top here, which will wrap around the bike in the front, and lock into place in this area here, which will add some security to your bike rack. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. Once you remove the straps, it's a good habit to go ahead and put them back into place, just so you don't lose them while driving. With that done, we're going to go ahead and give you a quick measurement. With the rack in this position, we've added about 21 inches to the rear of the vehicle. more

With that done, I'm going to go ahead and give you a measurement here. With the bike rack in this position, we've added about 25 inches, and that's measuring from the bumper. more

You're going to have two straps up top here, plus one strap off to the side, which is going to serve as anti-sway strap, which will keep the bike rack from moving back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack, or the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside for the time being. Now once you remove the straps it's a good habit to actually put them back in place. You don't want them flapping around while you're driving, more importantly you don't want to lose them while you're driving. more

Yakima Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Explorer- Video

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test of the Yakima HalfBack Trunk Mount 2 Bike Rack, that part number is Y02636. Now we already have our bike secured down but first I'm going to show you how we do that and then we'll go over some features. We have 2 cradles in place with these straps also known as the ZipStrip, we have 2 on our frame here and we've got other anti-sway. We're going to start by removing our bike and setting it off to the side and then I suggest that you replace your ZipStrip so you don't lose or damage them. With those out of the way we'll take some measurements here. First looking the overall what we're adding to our vehicle with our arms hanging out. It's going to be 24 and a quarter inches. more
