Today, on our 2012 Honda Civic, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima HalfBack 2 bike rack, part number Y02636. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. Now, how the bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have two zip strips up at the top, and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it, and damaging them. Let's go ahead and take the zip strips off, and set the bike aside. more

How this bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with your bike's frame. We're going to have two zip strips up at the top here, excuse me. One off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway strip to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bike in front of it, and damaging it. It also has an integrated cable lock here at the end, where you wrap it around the bike in the front, and attach it to this point here for additional security. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. To that, on the zip strips, there's tabs on either side of them. more

Now we already have our bike secured down, so we're first going to show you how we do that. There's one thing you should note before we actually show you how we strap it down and everything is that we are using a tire strap here. That is because if we don't have the strap we are going to make contact from our handlebars onto our vehicle. If you have handlebars like this or even wider ones, you would want to purchase that strap just so your bike doesn't hit your vehicle. We do have the two cradles in place with three straps, two on our frame here and one is our anti-sway in the back here. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Spark, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima FullBack 2-Bike trunk mount rack. Part number Y02634. On this rack, it secures the bike in three positions. Two up top here on the frame, and one down on the side for our anti-sway. In order to remove the bike, you want to pinch these tabs in and pull up the zip strips. We can set our bike out of the way. It's good practice to put the zip strips back in to insure that they don't get lost or broken. With that out of the way, let's go ahead and take a couple measurements. First one's going to be total distance added to the vehicle, which looks like about 27-1/2 inches. more

Today on this 2016 Hyundai Elantra we're going to be test-fitting the Hollywood Racks Baja 2 Bike Rack, part number HRB2. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have two straps up at the top here and one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-swing strap to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take that off and set it aside. With the bike removed and the bike rack in this position, which it is a fixed position so the arms do not fold down, measuring from the bumper we've added about 20 inches to the rear of the vehicle. Now how this is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have six points of contact. We're going to have two rubber-coated hooks up here at the top, two to the side just above the taillight, and then two at the base of the trunk as well. more

Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Traverse we're doing a test fit of the Thule Raceway Pro Trunk Mount Two Bike Rack. That part number is TH9001PRO. Now we already have our bike secured down. We've got two cradles in place with three straps, two on our frame here and one as our anti-sway in the back. I'm going to start by releasing those and we can pull our bike off and set it off to the side. Now with our bike out of the way, we'll take a few measurements. more

Yakima Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford Explorer Y02635- Video
Today on this 2016 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima HalfBack 3 Bike Rack, part number Y02635. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact with the bikes frame. We're going to have two zip strips up in the top here, then one off the side here, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap to keep the bike from going too far back and forth hitting either the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Thule Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2014 Chevrolet Spark TH9001PRO- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Spark we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Raceway Pro 2-bike trunk-mount rack. On this rack the bike is secured in three locations, two up top here on the frame and then one anti-sway strap down here. We're going to take our bike and get it off to the side for now so we can look at a few more features of this rack. With the bike out of the way, let's take a couple measurements. First is going to be overall length added to the vehicle. We're looking right about 20". The arms on this are actually able to fold down. more
