Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hanging style bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2019 Fleetwood Bounder motorhome. Now this is a bike rack capable of carrying up to four bikes, and it's going to be able to carry 35 pounds per bike. So pretty solid and pretty comparable to most other hanging style racks out there, especially the ones that are motorhome-approved. And that is an important distinction because not all bike racks are built to the spec required to withstand the extra shock and vibration you experience at the back of a motorhome compared to a passenger vehicle. So, do be sure to select a bike rack that's approved for use on a motorhome when you're putting it here. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the RockyMounts MonoRail 2-Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how this fits our 2023 Toyota Highlander. So for this bike rack, it is really popular, because of its versatility where you get the premium features like tilt away and the 60 pound per bike weight capacity at a slightly more affordable price than the other premium bike racks. It's still a solid bike rack though, and I recommend it almost every single time. With the Highlander, there are some things to consider, like the Highlander's hitch does sit a little bit higher up, so you are having to lift your bikes a bit more to get them onto the rack. Another feature of the MonoRail is the tilt away. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack and how it fits our 2023 Toyota Highlander. So the Kuat NV is really popular as a premium bike rack with premium features, if you want almost the best of the best, this is what you would go with. Now, it does have some downsides like its premium price as well as it is a hefty bike rack, so we'll talk about that, but we're gonna focus on our Highlander. The first feature this has is it tilts away. There's an easy to access lever in the center of the rack, we're gonna pull that lever, and then just let the bike rack drop down to a tilt. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
How's it going everyone Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Hitch Bike Rack and we're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Dodge Durango. It's gonna be a great entry level way to get up to four bikes where you need 'em to go. The Destination 4 will be a platform style bike rack which means it's gonna hold our bike up by the tires here down at the bottom and it's capable of supporting four bikes up to 35 pounds a piece. Primarily gonna hold onto them with this rotating padded clamp here on our center mast. So it does make frame contact and we recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes. It could potentially damage them while we're driving but because we can slide up and down that center mast a little bit and the pads do rotate 180 degrees, then we should be able to accommodate a bunch of different alternative frame style bikes We also have our secondary points of contact being the straps down, one at the front and one at the back wheel. more

How's it going everyone Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination two hitch bike rack. We're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Dodge Durango. The Destination two is going to be a platform style bike rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 35 pounds a piece. It's gonna be kind of an entry level bike rack so it doesn't have a ton of features, but we'll show you how it works on this vehicle. We're gonna make primary contact here with this center cradle on our center mass. It is going to make frame contact so we definitely recommend avoiding this if you have a carbon frame bike, because it does slide up and down and it rotates 360 degrees. more

Now, it's gonna be a pretty solid rack if you're looking for something simple and easy to carry four bikes. The ease of use might be a little bit of an overstatement, there's some things about this that do make it kind of hard to use depending on the bikes you're loading up, but we'll talk about all that in a second. It's a great way to get started though, carrying up to four bikes, 35 pounds each. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we have the Swagman Skaha 2 bike platform rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. So the Swagman Skaha is good if you have heavy electric bikes 'cause it has a 60 pound weight capacity, and the this is compatible with the Swagman ramp and the bridge. I highly recommend getting the add on ramp if you are getting this rack because for the Tahoe you have so much ground clearance that getting those heavy bikes up is a lot easier with that ramp. Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at our Kuat Transfer platform-style bike rack and seeing how it fits on this 2022 Tesla Model Y. The Transfer, being a platform-style bike rack, holds the bike in these wheel cradles and primarily by our front tire, as you can see to the right. This is going to make it a great option for things like carbon frame bikes, like you see here, and alternative frame bikes. It can support a weight of 40 pounds per bike. So not the best option for our e-bikes, but it can hold up the three bikes. more

So, the Kuat Sherpa is a great middle of the road bike rack. I highly recommend it for people that just have a normal bike, and they wanna carry it around quickly and easily. It does have some downsides, like, it doesn't have a super great weight capacity for extra heavy electric bikes, but it does have some fun features, like this tilt away. So, if you pull this lever down here, (rack clicks) and you just let the bike rack drop down to a tilt, you will be able to open up your hatch. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the RockyMounts AfterParty swing-away bike rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Honda CR-V. So the RockyMounts AfterParty is very similar to the RockyMounts GuideRail where you have a dual wheel mount bike rack. The thing that's special, though, with the AfterParty is it swings away, and that gives you full access to the back of your vehicle if you want to set up a campsite, open up the hatch, things like that. Now, with the CR-V, I personally would actually recommend just sticking with the RockyMounts GuideRail, and that's just because you can still tilt away both bike racks. So if you don't need that full hatch clearance, you'll still be able to open up your hatch with the bikes rack, bikes on without having to swing the entire bike rack away. more

So, you can definitely get a couple of E-bikes on here if you'd like to. But we do have a primary contact point of this frame hook here in the middle on our center mast. So, if you wanna use this with your carbon frame bikes I'd recommend against it because we do make frame contact. Although they are padded, we are still pushing down and could potentially damage our frames while we're moving. more

And our primary point of contact is going to be these rotated padded jaws here on our center mast which is going to hold our bike securely. But because it does make frame contact we'd recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes but because it is able to rotate so much, it should work for a lot of your alternative frame style bikes. more

So the Yakima OnRamp is really popular for people that have electric bikes or heavier bikes and the motor home or an RV because it has a ramp included with a rack. So there's a lot of great perks to it. In fact, I got this for my relatives for their fifth wheel, but there's some downsides as well, like for the Discovery motor home the hitch is pretty recessed, so you have limited clearance. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Honda CR-V. This is going to be designed for e-bikes in mind which you can see we have loaded up here. It's got a weight rating of 66 pounds per bike but this is also rated for use on your fifth wheel flat tow motor home and travel trailers. So if you wanna use it for any of those purposes you can but if you choose to use this off-road that weight rating's gonna drop down to 40 pounds per bike. So be careful of that. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Honda CR-V- Video
How's it going, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Current hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Honda CR-V. The Current is designed specifically for e-bikes, so it is a platform-style rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds apiece. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily with the center mast frame clamp here or hook and two additional straps, one on the front, one on the back tire. So it does make contact with your frame, and it does so in a pulling-down fashion. So if you wanna use this with your carbon frame bikes, recommend against that cuz it could potentially damage your frame while it's driving. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Honda CR-V- Video
How's it going, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Right now we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail hitch bike rack and how it fits on our 2021 Honda CR-V. This is going to be a two-bike platform style rack capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds. It's gonna hold on to our bikes with this dual wheel mount design, so one hoop on the back, one hoop on the front tire, which is nice if you want to accommodate different wheel bases and make sure that your bikes aren't making contact with one another while you're driving. Also, because there's no frame contact, you can get your carbon frame bikes on here, alternative frame bikes, and you can get some e-bikes on here as long as they have less than a three-inch or less tire width. So this does have a lot of cool features and things that we're gonna check out, but the first one is going to be the fact that we do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded up. more

The MonoRail is a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of holding two bikes up to 60 pounds a piece. It's going to make contact primarily with this front wheel mount, this hook on our tire here, and one strap down here at the back tire so there's no frame contact. If you want to get your carbon frame bikes on here, you can. If you have an alternative frame style bike you won't have to worry about that either. more

So if you do wanna mix and match and use this with your carbon frame bikes we'd recommend against it because it is putting that down force on your frame, could potentially damage it while you're driving. But if you have an alternative frame style they do go all the way up and down the center mass so they should be able to accommodate that pretty well. more

You just add on that one piece to make it a three-bike if you want that, but it's going to be a platform style rack like I mentioned, which means it holds our bike up by the bottom through these trays and cradles. It has a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, and it's gonna hold onto our bike primarily with this front wheel mount here and one additional strap down at the bottom. So there's no frame contact. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Chrysler Pacifica- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four bike rack and how it fits on our 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. This is going to be a platform style bike rack a very good entry level way for you to get up to four bikes up to 35 pounds a piece where you need 'em to go. It's gonna hold onto our bike primarily with these rotated padded clamps on our center mast here as well as one strap on the back and one strap on the front. So we do make frame contact although it's not pushing directly down. Still wouldn't recommend using carbon frame bikes just 'cause it does still have that potential to damage frame while you're driving. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Chrysler Pacifica- Video
Hey, it Ethan in here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Premium hitch bike rack, how it fits on our 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. It's going to be a four-bike hanging-style bike rack which means it's gonna hold the bike primarily from the top tube here and let the rest of the bike hang down. It's gonna be able to support 180 pounds total, four bikes, it's got this taper at the end which should help you accommodate some kids' bikes, but if you do have a carbon frame bike we wouldn't recommend using something like this just cuz it is primarily held by the frame, could potentially take damage while you're driving. Alternative frame bikes you might have to pick up a bike adapter bar. The taper at the end should help you not need that for kids bikes as much, but still a chance you might have to pick one up kind of how hanging-style racks are. more

So the HighNoon is very similar to the RockyMounts MonoRail, if you're familiar with that popular bike rack. But it has some upgrades to it, which makes it more versatile for bikes of different shapes and sizes, especially ones with fenders. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here at the trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Skaha Two Platform Style Bike Rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Subaru Outback. Now, like I mentioned, this is gonna be a platform style bike rack. It holds the bike in these wheel cradles and by our front wheel hook. The wheel hook means it makes no contact with the frame, making this a good option for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. more
