Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Jeep Patriot

Today in the studio, we have a 2013 Jeep Patriot. We're going to do a quick test fit of the Yakima Load Warrior. This is a roof-mounted cargo basket, part number Y07070. Now as you can see, we already had the basket up onto our crossbars, which the roof rack system we have today is from Rhino-Rack, and what I went ahead and did is installed the back two clamps because it does take a little bit to install, not too much, but just a lot of turning of the knobs, so I just left these two uninstalled to give you a quick idea of how it goes on. You can see this T-bolt here on the other side, what you do is there's just a slot in this bracket that this T-bolt just goes down to, and then it'll twist like so, lock in place, and then you'll just tighten down on the nut. Like that and then that T bolt will twist and lock into place, and then we'll just tighten this down. Now, depending on your crossbar spread and what roof rack system that you have will depend on if this rack will actually work for you. Now the Jeep Patriot does have the arrow indicators from the manufacturer on the side rails, basically indicating where the recommended placement of your crossbars should be, and it looks like the rack is going to fit nicely for where the OEM marker indicators are, so it should be good, and I'll loosen this up a little bit and then basically I'm just going to repeat the same process that I did for the front clamp, just insert that T-bolt into that slot and then tighten her down. All right, and once everything is all tightened down, that will complete today's test fit of the Yakima Load Warrior Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket, part number Y07070 on our 2013 Jeep Patriot. more

Got to ensure that the fairing is facing forward and that the feet are in a position to be placed around the bottom of the load bars so that they can be tightened into place. Got to loosen the thumb screws so that we can place this T-shaped bolt down through the foot and once they're down through, you're going to want to turn that that T sideways to lock into place. It helps if you just hold that into place with your finger from the bottom while tightening that thumb screw. This is accessible from both sides, so you're going to want to ensure that it's centered, that way you can access it from both sides. Now that I'm finished with the front, I'm going to fasten the rear. Now that that side is good and tight, actually it needs just a couple of more turns here, now we're ready for our driver's side. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Nissan Frontier

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Nissan Frontier we're going to be test fitting the Thule MOAB, that's M-O-A-B or short for Mother Of All Baskets. This is a rooftop cargo basket it's designed to mount on most factory or aftermarket rails. The part number on is TH690XT. Now we've already removed one bolt and wing nut from each of the four clamps, as you can see the lower portion is hanging down on all four of them. I always recommend removing the same bolt and wing nut from . or the wing nut and bolt from each of the same side, that way it's going to make it a little easier when we go to put it on.With those separated we're just going to grab the basket, place it right up on to the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System that we've already installed on the Nissan. Sometimes if you're tall enough you can just set them right up on the vehicle, in this case I like to just kind of work it over a little bit. Once we have the upper portions of our clamps sitting and resting right up on top of the load bars let's take a quick look to be sure we have it centered. more
