Now this vehicle is front wheel drive, so well be installing the tire chains on the front set of tires. To begin our test fit, well lay the chains flat on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. This will ensure that the tire chain will fit correctly around the tire. Well then drape the tire chains over the tire making sure that the hooks are facing out, so we dont cause any damage to our tire. Also notice the yellow indicator tag indicating which side of the vehicle the tire chain should be on. more

We can now drape our chains over the tire tread making sure that the cross chains are centered with the tread itself. We'll then move to the inside of our tire chain and connect the two ends of the side chain together. more

To begin this test fit well lay the chains out on the ground and make sure we get any kinks, knots or tangles out of the chains themselves. This will offer an easier installation. Well now go ahead and place our tire chains over the tire, making sure that the cross chains are centered with the tire tread. In order to identify whether the chain is going on correctly or not, well make sure that the cross-chains attach to the side chains with the hooks facing out. We can then move to the inside of the tire here at the six oclock position where well connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking up as much of the slack in the chain as possible. more

Today on this 2012 Nissan Frontier, we're going to do a test fit of part number th04805265 from Thule; this is XD16 snow tire chains. A couple notes about our test fit, is that we'll be working with a tire size of 265/75/R16. Now we're going to do a test fit on the ramp to give a better view of what's going on and how to install the chains. We'll start off with our test fit by taking the yellow end of the cable on our snow chain and working form the back to the front wrapping around the backside of the tire. Then we'll bring both ends up to the top of the tire and connect the two. We'll let it sit on top of the tire for now and then we'll go ahead and pull the chain over the top into the front of the tire. more

Then well move to the inside of the tire and take the cable eyelet and feed it through the hook, securing the inside of the tire chain. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Durango with tire size 265/60/R18s well be test fitting the Thule tire chains, part number TH2004705265, Well begin our test fit by sliding the chains over our tire, making sure that the chains are centered with the tire tread. After we make sure that the chains are draped and centered on the tire well connect the side chained together here on the outside at the 12 oclock position. Well connect the red hook to the red chain link on the other side. Well then make sure that our chains are centered with the tire tread and allow them to move around the tire. Now here at the six oclock position well take the side chain andn our red tension holding device, slide the chain through the holding device and pull it tight. After weve pulled it tight well grab the red hook here at the chain tensioning device and bring it down and hook it into the side chain access that we just ran through the holding device. more

Today we will be test fitting the Thule XG 12 snow tire chains, part number TH2004705265 on 265/60-18 tires on a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner. We will be test fitting the tire chains on the rear of the vehicle, see your owners manual for exact specifications. Before we begin our test fit lay the tire chain flat on the ground with the yellow one to the cable on the right. Undo any tangles or kinks, slide the tire chain underneath the vehicle, and bring the blue cable up on the inner side of the tire, and connect the ends. Then secure the two red hooks towards the top of the tire, slide the silver cable through the red retching device, and secure with the elastic tensioner. Now drive the vehicle a little bit forward to get rid of any excess slack, make sure to check your tire chains after driving a bit forward. more

Well then insert the male into the female end both on the inside and outside of the tire. Well then secure the tire chain with a rubber tensioner, part number PW100. Thule XD16 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be test fitting the Thule XD16 tire chains, part number TH04805265 on 265/16/18 tires. To begin our test fit we'll need to lay the chains out on the floor to get out any kinks that may be in the chain itself. We'll then take the blue cable and slide it underneath from the rear, behind the tire toward the front of the vehicle. With that done we'll grab both ends of the blue cable and bring them up around the top of the tire to connect it together. Here on the outside tire we'll connect the red chain link to the red hook. Here at the bottom we'll take the tension holder with the end of the grey cable and loop the cable through the holder, bringing it up and hooking it here to the side of the chain. Just like that our chains are on and we're ready to head out in the snow and ice. That competes our test fit of the Thule XD16 tire chains, part number TH14805265 on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. more

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Today on our 2011 Mercury Mariner well be test fitting the Glacier Square Link snow tire chains, part number PWPLC1142, with tire size P225 65R17. To begin installing our chains well remove the chains from the packaging and lay them out flat. Well make sure we get any tangles out of the chains. Once weve done that well drape our chains over the tire, making sure that the cross chain links hook is facing toward the outside. Well move to the inside of the tire, where well connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking out as much of the slack within the side chain as possible.Well then move to the outside of the tire. Well feed the side chain link through the cam tensioner, again making sure that we take out as much of the slack as possible, and hook it to the chain link here attached to our side chain. more

Today were doing a fit test for the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW1046, tire size 235 60 18 on a 2010 Ford Flex. First we lay the chains flat on the ground to insure there are no kinks, so that way theres no damage done to the tire once the chains are actually put on the tire. Well use this clip to hole any excess left over from when we fully tighten the chain onto the tire. Since this is a front wheel drive vehicle we will put the chains on the front two tires. Right now were putting the chains on the drivers side. Once youre completed with this then youll go over to the passengers side and repeat the process. more

Today were doing the fit test for the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW2029C for tire size 235 60 18, and this is for a 2010 Ford Flex. First we lay the chains out flat on the ground to insure theres no kinking of the chains. Here we have the lever that well use to tighten the chains onto the tire once weve mounted it. This lag shows the direction that the chains are supposed to go in and what tire they are to be attached to. Since this is a front wheel vehicle the chains will go on the front tires. Right now we are attaching these chains to the drivers side tire. more

With our chains draped over the tire, well make sure that they're centered with the tire tread. Youll notice a yellow tag on the side chain. This will indicate which side of the vehicle this chain needs to be mounted on as well as the direction that the chain will be traveling. Another great way to tell is by looking at the cross chains and how theyre mounted to the side chain. When mounting them, you want to make sure that the side chain hooks are pointed toward the outside. more

Today on our 1995 Mercury Villager, well be Installing Glacier Tire Chains, part number PW1034. Well also be using the rubber tensioner, part number PW100. Now to begin our installation, youll first need to get your chains out, lay them flat on the floor, and remove any tangles. With that done, well need to identify the proper way for the chain to rest on their tire. Youll notice that each cross chain is attached to the side chain with the hook clamp. That hook clamp needs to face outward, away from the tire. more

Make sure you check your owner's manual for further instructions about the use of tire chain and traction products. We'll go ahead and lay out our chain flat. We do want to make sure that the hooks of crossed pieces are facing out so that they won't bite into or damage your tires. There's a tag on the chain that will indicate whether it needs to go on the left hand side of the vehicle or the right hand side and it will also show which direction they need to rotate in. more

Today were going to review the Heininger Standard Snow Socks for passenger vehicles. These snow socks are designed to quickly slip over your tires and provide added traction to snowy and icy conditions. The sock is made out of a tightly woven polypropylene fabric that will help grip against the ice. Today we are working with a 2012 Jeep Liberty with 225/7516 tires. We are going to be test fitting the glacier tire chains part number PWPLC1142. Since our Liberty is four-wheel drive, well be mounting our chains up at the front. To mount the chains to the vehicle we are going to need to turn the front wheels all the way out. Well drape the chains across the top of the tire and slowly roll forward until we get the opening towards the top or the front of our tire where we can reconnect the chain. Well hook the inside of the chain first, and we can use the hook to remove any excess lengths not used. more
