And it's always recommended that you use at least two straps for anything that you're tying down.The nice thing about these is that they come with the S-hooks already attached on either end. Review of SmartStraps Ratchet Straps - Standard Double Hook Strap - 348857- Video
Today we'll be taking a look at the Smartstraps Ratchet X Ratchet Tie Down strap. This helps you to secure your cargo quickly and easily by giving you a nice ratchet to take up the slack in that strap, while this nice oversized handle makes it easy to deploy. We'll have that inner handle to open it up. Once that clicks into place, we can ratchet down our strap and then if you pull that up again and open the housing all the way up, that allows you to pull the strap and loosen everything. Keep pulling that out until we have all the slack that we need and then if you need to really shorten it up more, you can always take it all the way out and then pull the strap as far up as you need it to be.Once it's there pull that inner handle and ratchet everything down. It also will close, so if we pull that inner handle again and then lay it down flat now it's locked into place and it won't come free while we're in transit. more

Now this is gonna be ideal for those larger loads, really has all the basic features you'd expect from a ratchet strap, and flat hooks on both ends. That way for these flat-stock steel trailers, it do a great job of holding on.Now this is available just in a single or also in a pair, so just be sure to choose the right part number so you get the one you're looking for.Now overall, the ratcheting mechanism is gonna have a really good feel to it. This is going to be very, very handy in situations like this, or many other situations where we're bringing our strap up around the trailer, and it's setting on these more blunt edges.As they go down the road, they tend to wear. You might get a little bit of fraying, that can kind of reduce the strength of your strap. more

Highland Ratchet Tie-Down Straps Review- Video
Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Highland cast aluminum ratchet straps. These are available in a four-pack, a two-pack, or individually, so just be sure you get the right part number you need for your application. Now, the cast aluminum handle that we have here on the strap really makes it very user friendly. I don't know if you're use to other styles of ratchet strap, but typically they're going to have a lot of sharp edges, and as we reach in and try to ratchet them, it tends to put more pressure on our fingers than what we like.In this case, you see with the cast aluminum. We don't have any sharp edges anywhere around here on the handle, and we've got a plenty wide enough grip there to get plenty of power on it to get things secured down properly.Now, the internal portion, you can see all through here, the barrel in which our straps going to ride on, and our release is going to be the standard steel with the clear zinc coating. more

Shorter ones are gonna be about 15, the longer ones are gonna be about 24.Now, this kit's gonna be a good thing to have around, especially if you're used to hauling different things at different times. If this is a setup you use all the time, you're probably gonna have dedicated straps for that. But if you're always hauling different stuff, it's nice to have options. more

Highland Retractable Ratchet Strap Review- Video
Now these straps have been designed for use in heavier duty applications. They're going to be 2" wide and 10' long. These are going to be excellent solutions for stowing just about any type of thing you might want to in a large utility trailer, or any trailer for that matter.The retractible portion is nice in the fact that you just hit one button and you see all that's going to be retracted back into the strap. It's going to eliminate the long tag end hanging out. It really helps to keep our hooks from hanging off the other end when we're trying to get it secured, and overall it just makes it a pretty straightforward and easy ratchet strap to use.Our S-hooks on both ends are going to be nice heavy-duty rubber coated hooks, nice thick diameter to them you can see there, and even on this very large D-ring they go around there without any big issue at all.The handle itself is going to be really nice and wide, smooth on the back, so getting a grip on it really isn't an issue at all. You're going to have our easy to get to release handle there marked in red.You've got kind of a matte yellow zinc finish over all the working surfaces there. more

Today we're taking a look at the Snap-Loc E-track Tie down anchors with the included Cam buckle ladder safety strap.Now this kit is designed to let you secure a ladder to a tree or pole, providing extra security when using your ladders. Basically, the anchors are designed to mount to your ladder and then you can attach the strap to one side, loop it around the tree or the pole and then attach the other anchor to the other side where the E-track would be and hook it and then pull out any slack which would secure the ladder to a tree or to a pole.It comes with two zinc E-track anchors, one E-strap with the Cam buckle design and then it comes with your hardware, so you get four carriage bolts, four flat washers and four locknuts.Now the anchors are made from thick, ten gauge steel with a durable zinc plated finish to resist rusting corrosion. Each one measures 5 3/4 inches long by one inch wide by 1/2 inch deep. The holes measure 5/16 by 5/16 and they're separated on five inch centers. The strap is made of rigid polyester webbing with the built in zinc plated Cam buckle and the built in zinc plated E-track fittings. These fittings are designed to easily secure inside the anchors. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Erickson ratchet tie down straps with S hooks. These are going to measure one inch by 10 feet and they have a safe working load limit of 300 pounds. You get a nice set of four of these ratchet straps, which is always a good thing to have since it's always recommended to use your straps in pairs. So we'll have four, two pairs, makes it really handy and for tying down any large or heavy equipment that you might have in your truck bed or trailer.It does have that ratcheting feature, so whenever you want to cinch down those straps and get them really tight, you can just pull back on that ratchet and it's going to bring both ends of the S hooks together and keep everything secure.Whenever you want to go to loosen it up there are two spring-loaded levers on the inside. You'll just want to pull apart on those, pull out on those, and then that should allow you to flatten out that lever. It's kind of small so it might be a little difficult to get your hand in there, especially if you have larger fingers.Then once that's flattened out, that will allow you to pull the slack back out of your strap, and get it loosened up. more

Erickson Ratchet Straps - Standard Strap - EM01326 Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Erickson ratchet tie down strap with double J hooks. This is going to measure one inch by 25 feet, and it has a safe working load limit of 1,000 pounds.This ratchet strap is going to help to do the work for you by tightening down with that ratchet capability. It is going to be a nice long strap with that 25 foot length. The way this is going to work is that we'll have our strap looped through the slot in the hole there and then as you ratchet down, it just pulls it through. You can also open that up with the release lever so that it'll pull those tabs up and you can actually free spool that strap back out. To release it back, just pull up on the lever in the middle there, it's going to be that handle that springs up, allows you to either open it up or flatten it out.All of our metal portions, the hooks and the ratcheting lever, those are all going to be made of a yellow dichromate plated steel, so it's going to be durable as well as resisting rust. more

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the Ericson Ratchet Tie-Down Strap with Double J-Hooks and D-Ring. This is gonna be a 1-inch by 15-foot strap, and it has a working load limit of 1,000 pounds. The nicest thing about this strap is that not only is it going to be a ratcheting style strap to do the work for you to get your load cinched down inaudible 00:00:28 you work that, that's going to pull the strap in to tighten down over your load, but this is also going to have the two J-Hooks on either end. There's also that D-Ring, so that if there isn't an attachment point to work with the J-Hook, you can secure the strap to itself by using that D-Ring. It's gonna give you a lot of versatility when using this ratcheting strap. Again, it does have the ratchet function. more
