Today on our 2014 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit on the SportRack Vista, this is a folding cargo carrier capable of holding 500 pounds. It's been designed for use in 2 inch hitches the Part Number is SR9851. We've got the Vista loaded down with 100 pounds as you can see. This is going to give us a nice stable ride for whatever we're going to be hauling. As compared to some of the cargo carriers rather that are installed and secured with the hitch pin and clip. This on uses an anti-rattle bolt so it really stabilizes everything. more

Now you can see here the carrier is going to offer a sturdy steel construction. We've loaded it down with 100 pounds and with the anti rattle device secure, it really keeps it from bumping around or wiggling too much. As you can see, just like any cargo carrier, as you're going down the road, if it's secured with just a pin and clip, you're going to have a little movement and a little wiggle there. Today on our 2013 Honda Odyssey, we are going to do a test fit on the Hollywood Racks add on cargo carrier design for use with the sport rider or sport rider SE2 bike rack but as you can see here, it's also available for use as a stand alone carrier. It measures 15 1/2 inches x 55. It's going to offer us at 220 pound weight capacity when used independently. A 90 pound weight capacity when used in conjunction with the bike rack. Part number on it is HR1485. To begin our test we need to slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. more

Today on our 2005 Honda CRV, we are going to be taking a look and doing a test fit on the Maxxtow 20x47 aluminum cargo carrier. This has been designed for use in 2 inch hitches. It's got a full length steel shank that runs underneath to give us up to a 500 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is MT70108. Now this is a nice light cargo carrier, if weight is an issue, it might be a really good choice for you. To begin the test fit, we just slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We are going to line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. more

Today on our 2005 Honda CRV, we are going to be doing a test fit on the 17x50 Maxxtow compact cargo carrier. They've designed this for use in 2 inch hitches with it smaller size it still offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is MT70107. To begin our test fit we simply slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this, we are going to line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. With those in line we'll take our standard 5/8 pin and then slide this through and we'll secure it on the other side here with our clip. Now the pin and clip are sold separately, if you don't already have one at home, we've got them listed as part number PC3. more

Now to begin the test fit we just slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch here. We want to line the threaded hole up with our hitch pinhole. Once we have those in line we're going to take the anti-rattle bolt which is provided; we're going to thread this on through. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll go ahead and slide it in till we get our pinholes to line up with each other. Then we can install our hitch pin and clip. With the carrier in the folded up position, it's going to give us a ground clearance of about 10 inches and the closest point of the carrier to the rear of our vehicle is going to measure about 3 inches away. more

The part number on it is 52018. Now to begin our test fit we need to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do that, we'll line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. With those lined up with one another, we can take our standard five eights pin and slide that through and we'll secure it on the other side with our clip. As we said the aluminum construction is really causes this to be a nice lightweight carrier, it might be a good choice if weight is going to be an issue for you. To do the test fit we'll just slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch and we'll line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. Once we have those in line we are going to take a standard five eights pin, slide it through and secure it on the other side with the clip. more

To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch tube, align up our hitch pin hole, slide our pin through our hitch pin hole and secure it with a clip. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the cargo carrier and this vehicle fit together. With the cargo carrier folded up theres about 15 inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about 2 inches. With the cargo carrier folded down theres about 17 inches of ground clearance from the rear of the carrier. more

Now to begin our test fit well simply slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install our hitch pin. With the pin in we can simply put the clip on the other side of the pin which will secure our cargo carrier to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance with the cargo carrier platform folded up is 10 inches. From the closest point of the carrier to the back of the vehicle is five inches. more

To mount the carrier to our vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up the hitch pin holds feed in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with a wrench. Next well go over a few clearance measurements. Weve got about 2 inches of clearance from the closest part of the cargo carrier to the closest art of the vehicle. Overall weve added about 21.5 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle. more

Now well go over some clearance measurements. Weve got about two and three quarter inches clearance from the furthest part of our vehicle to the closest part of the carrier. more
