Rob: Hey, everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear on our 2017 Ford F150.Now before we actually put our bags on, we'd like to take our truck out on a test course, get an idea of the baseline of how our truck handles and whenever we put a load in the back, as well. That way, whenever we do have our bags installed, we can take a really good test and have something to compare it to. We all know everybody wants to see them working, but we also know that you want to see how to get them installed. If you stick around at the end of the video, we are going to go through that process together. If you're looking for airbags for your truck, it's most likely because you either haul a heavy load in the bed of your truck, or you tow a trailer pretty often and most likely it's probably a pretty heavy load for a trailer. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Today in our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be installing Air Lift's Load Lifter 5,000 Air Helper Springs to the rear axle and this is what our airbags are going to look like when they're installed. They're going to sit between the frame and your axle to help support the loads in the back of your vehicle. It's going to be a double convoluted shape with two separate chambers. It's going to be a dual-ply fabric and have roll plates on each side to provide you with good off-road support. They provide up to 5,000 pounds of load carrying capacity. Now, this doesn't increase the amount of capacity your vehicle can carry, but it's how much it can help support. You can adjust this between five and 100 PSI to get the proper lift you need to help bring your vehicle back to it's stock ride height. Five PSI, being an unloaded vehicle, and 100 PSI being the maximum load you can put on.Included with your kit, you'll receive manual inflation valves. What's nice about this is you'll receive two, one for each side, so if you have an uneven load in the back of your vehicle, you can adjust them independently from one another to bring your vehicle back to level. So, we're got our work truck here with all the tools and everything that we need loaded up to do the job. We'll check our ride height, we're at about 37 and a half inches. more

Air Lift Ride Rear Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Airlift right control air helper spring for the rear axle, part number AL59570.Whether you're towing a heavy trailer or your truck's under constant load like ours is with all the toolboxes, ladder racks, not to mention all the other equipment we've put in, you will notice that the back end is going to sag down a little bit and the ride's just not that comfortable. Not to mention, it's going to put a lot of strain on our rear suspension and it's actually going to lift up the front just a bit, which will misalign our headlights and not give us as good a traction on the front tires. Our airbags are going to help support that load and that weight and put our suspension back where it should be. Before we install them, let's take it out for a drive and see how it handles. As I drive my truck over the speed bumps, I can definitely tell you, I can feel it resonating through the seat and it just feels a lot harsher than it normally does, especially with all our toolboxes and equipment in the back.As I come up to the slalom course and I'm going around the turns, it definitely wants to lean extremely hard before it actually starts turning. Since one of my toolboxes has more stuff in it than the other, some turns are a little worse than the others. Here's what our right control air springs are going to look like once we have them installed. These are going to give us that extra support that we need whenever we're hauling a heavy load, or pulling a heavy trailer. more

SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video

SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit, part number SSA28.Here's what our SuperSprings are going to look like once we have 'em installed. Now, these are going to give us the support we need whenever we're hauling a heavy load or towing a heavy trailer. Typically, whenever we're hauling something extremely heavy, our suspension wants to flex a lot and our back end sags down. Well, these are going to provide us the extra support by activating whenever our suspension flexes. The rollers on the end of our leaf spring are going to activate our helper spring and provide us that extra support, but also still giving us a nice ride when we're not towing something heavy because it's going to deactivate those springs and still have a nice, comfortable ride.Since they're attached to the front and back of our factory leaf springs, it's also going to act like a sway bar and it's going to prevent our leaf springs from twisting, giving us a lot more stability when we're driving down the road. The multiple notches in the end here are going to provide us with a little bit of customization. more

SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford F-150, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Sumo Spring solo custom helper springs for the rear axle and that's gonna be part number SSR-117-47. Whenever we're towing or hauling something heavy, the back end typically sags. That's gonna put a lot of stress and strain on our factory suspension in the back, not to mention in the front, it's gonna lift up, which will misalign our headlights and take less contact of our tire touching the road. So we'll go ahead and measure the factory measurements. The back here, the center line of the wheel, it's gonna be right about 40 1/4". Now at the front, it's gonna be right at about 37 1/2" and that's with no weight in the bed of the truck. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Ford F-150, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Timbren suspension enhancement system for the rear axle, part number TFRTT1504E. Here's what our Timbrens look like, once we have them installed. They are going to mount in between our frame and our axle, giving us the support that we need whenever we're hauling a heavy load or towing a heavy trailer. They are going to replace the factory jounce stops and provide us a lot more support, not only because they're taller. As you can see here with our factory jounce stop, it is much smaller. These are more designed to prevent us from actually hitting the frame on the axle, and not really provide any support. Our Timbrens are actually going to get more progressively stiff with the more weight we add, but in the beginning, they're going to be nice soft cushion, so we're still going to have nice ride. Our Timbrens are going to work independently from each other, so it's going to help with those off-center loads or if we're taking a very sharp turn. It's going to help a lot with that body roll, and just the back end of the vehicle sagging, as well. more

Best 2017 Ford F-150 Suspension Enhancement Options- Video

Best 2017 Ford F-150 Suspension Enhancement Options

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best suspension enhancements for your 2017 Ford F150, F250, and F350. Here we're going to have a leaf spring style helper spring, followed by our airbag helper springs, and then over here we're going to have a jounce style helper spring, and this is going to be our lower overload helper spring, and then finally on the end this is going to be our upper overload helper springs. Each one of our types of suspension enhancements are going to do the same thing. When we're carrying a heavy load or hauling heavy trailer, they're going to prevent the back end of our truck from sagging, causing more strain on our suspension, as well as lifting up the front end, creating less contact for our tires and not as safe driving condition. They're all going to help prevent all those things from happening, so let's take a closer look at some of the benefits from each one.Now helper leaf springs here are not only going to give us that load leveling support, but they're also going to give us a little bit of anti-sway, because of the way they're going to mount. Our leaf spring style helper springs are going to mount to our factory leaf springs. They're going to activate our lower overload springs to help evenly distribute weight, ensuring your truck stays level for better handling, and it's going to reduce side to side sway and body roll. more
