And honestly, this is something that I recommend not only for the Equinox, but for every vehicle that I set up, you know, to be flat towed. And I say that because it's a really small component, but an important one. more

Hi there, Chevy owners. Today, on your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Brake Buddy's dash mounted connector and wiring harness. The Brake Buddy in dash harness is used to get a connector here on the inside so you can quickly and easily plug in your portable breaking system. This way you can have your breakaway switch outside. You can run all your wires connected to this harness. So that way we've got a nice, easy plug here. more

Hi there, Chevrolet owners. Today on your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's second vehicle kit for the InvisiBrake supplemental braking system. The second vehicle kit from Roadmaster will allow you to take an existing InvisiBrake system that you've got on one vehicle and move it over to another vehicle. This is great if you've got a vehicle, maybe that's got a little more miles on it that you're wanting to have on it and you upgrade to a newer, nicer vehicle, but you still want to flat tow with that vehicle. You will have to reuse your operating unit and the actuating cylinder, but the kit will come with all the wiring that we need to get this mounted up. So we don't have to save all those wires and try to feed that out of the old car. more

We have some color options with the NV 2.0. The one you see now is the gunmetal gray option. So if you're not really a fan of the orange, we have two others, and that's going to be matte black or metallic black.This bike rack is going to be great for your carbon fiber bikes, like you see here, just because we have a wheel hook so we're not going to be putting any stress on our frame. Rob: Hey everybody. It's Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Charge Line Kit for towed vehicles on our 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. Now, whether you've flat towed a vehicle before or maybe you're just new to it, once you start doing it for a while, one thing you might realize is that once you get where you're going, your vehicle's battery may be dead. Especially if you have a supplemental braking system in. Because that supplemental braking system uses your Equinox's battery to run that braking system and to slow and stop the Equinox down. So if you're towing it for a really long time and you don't make any stops, you don't start your Equinox, that battery can drain down and it's just a hassle because then we've got to get jumper cables out, find somebody to start our car for us and it just puts a damper on our trip.But the nice thing is, is our charge line is going to make sure that the battery on our Equinox gets a trickle charge any time that we're hooked up to our motor home because our charge line is actually going to run through and be hooked into our tow bar wiring. more

Today on your 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Demco's Air Force One Second Vehicle Kit.There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home.You'll need your tow bar which is the connection between your motor home and your base plate, your safety cables which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. You'll need your base plate which provides the connection point on your vehicle to attach your tow bar. You'll also need your diode wiring which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the lights at the back of your vehicle so people behind you know your intentions when going down the road. And your supplemental braking system which will apply the brakes in your vehicle whenever you hit the brakes in your motor home, helping it come to a nice safe stop.Demco's Air Force One is a truly proportional braking system that's specifically designed to work with motor homes that have air brakes. It takes the air brakes on the metered air circuit and uses that air pressure to send it to the operating unit here. more

Roadmaster Flexo-Coil Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit on our 2019 Chevrolet Equinox. Now, whenever you're going to flat-tow your Equinox behind your motorhome, you need a way to get those light signals to the back. Now, a lot of diode kits aren't going to come with an umbilical cord or the socket, that's where our Flexo Kit is going to help us out because we're going to be able to transfer the signals from our motorhome through the cord into the six-way plug on our vehicle that's tied into our tow bar wiring, that way, when we're driving down the road, if we need to change lanes, the motorhome signals are going to mirror what's on our Equinox so that everybody around us knows what's going on and we can be safe traveling down the road.I really like this style cord because it is coiled, so whenever we have it hooked up all the way, we'll still have enough slack for it to stretch when we go around turns, but at the same time, you can see it's going to retract back and it's going to keep all that slack from dragging the ground. On one end of the cord, we're going to have our seven-way connector, this is going to be pretty standard for most RVs and it's still going to have that little latch on there to make sure that it catches the door so it won't get ripped out for any reason.On the other end, we're going to have a six-way connector, and just so you know there is two different industry standards of how the cord is wired up, and our Roadmaster cord, the center pin, is for your power. They're also going to give us a six-way plug. more

Today you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to walk you through the installation on the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller on your 2019 Chevrolet Equinox with the Factory Tow Package.Most of the time when we think about a brake controller, it's on a larger vehicle, or on a big truck that may be pulling big trailers. On a smaller SUV like this, maybe you have a boat trailer that has brakes on it, or maybe you have a camper, a small camper that has brakes on it. Maybe you're going on a camping trip and you want to make more room for your passengers inside, so you want to put all your gear into a trailer and that trailer has brakes on it.You've pulled each of these things and without a brake controller you have felt the trailer as you're coming up to a stop pushing on the car. It's an uncomfortable feeling when you're coming up to the back of another car that's already stopped and it doesn't feel like your car is stopping. Adding a brake controller to the vehicle is not only going to make your driving experience much better, but it's going to make your passengers much more comfortable during the ride.The trailer brake controller is going to be a proportional brake controller, so when you apply the brakes in the vehicle it's going to apply the same amount of pressure in the trailer depending on how you have it set, whether that applies the brakes a little bit sooner or a little bit later. more

SMI Supplemental Braking Systems Extended Bolts Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox we're gonna be taking a look at showing you how to install the extended bolt for the SMI Air Force One and Stay-IN-play DUO Supplemental Braking Systems. Part number SM99604.Here is what our actuator is gonna look like for our Stay-IN-play DUO and also for our Air Force One. Our standard bolts is what you see here. These are gonna work on a normal sized brake pedal. If your brake pedal is a little bit wider, that's where you're gonna need the extend bolt. This bolt is gonna give you an inch and a quarter more clearance than the bolts that come on the actuator itself.First thing we're gonna do to start our installation is we need to remove our old bolts. more

Part RM-156-25.This charge line kit will provide a trickle charge from your RV to your vehicle's battery. This way when you're flat towing your vehicle down the road, every time you stop and you use the battery from your vehicle to apply to brake pedal from your braking system, or if you're using your vehicle's taillights as your taillight system, you can keep your battery charged so it's ready to go when you get to your campsite or wherever your destination may be.This kit connected directly to your six pull 00:00:36 connector at the front of your vehicle, and has a circuit breaker in line to protect for any shorts. When you plug it into your RV, that's where it gets its charging from.We'll begin our installation by mounting our circuit breaker using the self-tapping screw provided in the kit. Use an eight millimeter socket, and we're going to put it right here in the front, in this little open spot. We'll then take our second self-tapping screw and thread it on the other side.We'll start by connecting our wire to our circuit breaker. more

Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number RM-152-LED. And in conjunction with this, we're also going to be using Roadmaster's seven wire to six wire straight cord kit, part number RM-98146-7. This lighting kit is going to allow you to transfer those signals from inside your RV back to the vehicle that you're flat towing behind you. You'll have all the necessary lightings, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps. Since these bulbs are separate, we don't have to tap into the vehicle's wiring system, so you don't have to worry about voiding that wiring warrantee. The wiring from your tail lights is run up your front 6-pole connector on your vehicle, which then connects to the 7-pole on your RV. more

Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit Installation - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line kit for towed vehicles, part number RM-156-25. One reason you may need this kit is if you plan on using a portable breaking system in your towed vehicle, because those will draw power and they need some sort of power source. That way if that's drawing power you won't need to worry about your battery being drained because you've got a charge wire on here to make sure that your battery stays at full power. Here's what it's going to look like once it's installed in the vehicle. We've got the charge wire running to that very center pin on our 6-round connector here to the circuit breaker underneath the hood, and then it goes out the other side of the circuit breaker and routes towards the jump post for the battery. Then underneath this fuse box here at the jump post, you can see that it's got a ring terminal that connects it there in order to give power to the battery when this vehicle's in tow mode. Now with the vehicle hooked up to the motor home, even with our ring terminal disconnected from the jump start terminal there, if we test it for power you can see we've got power coming through there even when it's not. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox 18144- Video
All right today on this 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to install part number 56094 from Curt. This is a Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat. All right, first thing we need to do is go ahead and get access to the wiring harness. We'll go ahead and lift up the tailgate and then we need to remove the tail lights. We'll remove the covers to get access to the fasteners. We'll do this on both sides of the car. We're going to pop them out with a screwdriver and then we'll remove the bolt inside. more

TrailerMate Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2010 Chevy Equinox we'll be installing the Trailer Mate four pole flat connector for the Trailer Mate custom tail light wiring kits with a powered converter, part number TM85350. This will work in conjunction with the Trailer Mate custom tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles, part number TM780072. To begin our install we'll first need to remove the drivers tail light assembly. We'll go ahead and open up the rear hatch and then the two covers over the two fasteners for the drivers side tail light. Once we have the covers out of the way we'll go ahead and remove the fasteners. Then we'll carefully pop the tail light assembly out of its position being careful not to break the alignment tabs underneath. Then we'll go ahead and disconnect the tail light assemble by pressing on the locking connector that plugs into the back of the socket and sitting the tail light assembly aside. more

Tekonsha Replacement Breakaway Switch Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2010 Chevvy Equinox we will be installing the Tekonsha Trailer Breakaway kit, part number 2005-P. We will be adding it here and using our paint marker mark out the attachment point in the bumper beam. We will then go ahead and drill it out and secure it directly to the bumper beam using the hardware provided. Now with our breakaway switch secured, we will go ahead and wrap the wires underneath the vehicle to where we can gain access to them later. Now with the switch installed and wires ran down to the frame, we will move inside the vehicle where we will need to run some extra length of wire to connect to the wires underneath.Next we will need to gain access to the firewall. To gain access to the firewall we will need to remove the dashboard under body panel. more
